One of my biggest videogame pet peeves from the 90s was realizing we never got a Rugrats videogame during the NES-SNES-Genesis era lifespan. This makes up for it.

There were the Game Boy games, which weren't great.

The only Nicktoon to get an NES game was Ren & Stimpy. It and a few others got Genesis/SNES games.
Nickelodeon is doing really well in the video game world, and it looks like the brand as a whole is slowly getting back on track. Hope they can keep it on the up and up!

Rugrats was my #1 obsession as a kid until SpongeBob came out. I’ll definitely be playing this.

It looks like they put effort into it rather than the garbage "retro" look of most indie games.

This looks cool. Like a mix of old school NES DuckTales and some Super Mario Bros 2. Love that you can play it either in 8-bit art like an NES or in HD art in which the Rugrats would look like they would if you were watching the cartoon. Neat

Honestly, it's very tempting. They even got the box style right. Very similar to the VHS cassettes of the cartoon. It all depends on the price. If it's cheap I'll buy it.

This is the kinda game Capcom would’ve made back when the series came out in 1991. Looks fun in 8-bits, but the HD version not so much.

Remember the PS1/N64 games? They were 3D and the root of my love for exploration in videogames
A new Rugrats game, and it's based on the original and not the reboot? Never would have expected that. Kinda wish it was more unique though; it's basically Super Mario Bros. 2. I prefer the HD artstyle over the retro style since it looks more unique that way.

Fun fact: The Ren and Stimpy Show: Buckaroo$! was the only Nicktoons game made for the NES.

I'm not feeling that HD style, but the NES graphics look amazing. The levels have a vibrant color palette, the sprites are big and detailed and the character animation isn't too bad either.

Looks like a real old classic NES game, maybe the kind you'd see come out around 1993. (Despite what people think, SNES did NOT kill/replace NES. The NES was still getting games until 1995!)

My favorite episode has always been when they’re playing football with the bottle of chocolate milk.
