Great man , I’m 15 years old and made enough money to buy a Jon and to put a couple upgrades and paint. You help me pick what and where I should add things thank!!,
I like what you did. It is funny when you get the boat, then comes all the great ideas, and then you run out of room quickly. You maximized your space very well.
Thanks. Yeah before purchasing my boat I saw that maximizing space was a common problem. I was very careful with my mods to avoid this issue. I like how it turned out. Thanks for watching!.
I appreciate it Richard. Yeah I had to make the milk crate usable and effective. Thanks for the compliment on the boat. I always strive to make my setups practical.
Dude, you did an awesome job. Great little things like clips that keep cooler in place is very thoughtful. Always impressed with people who maximize the space they have. Helps to make a day on the water more like Zen. I'd definitely put your Fishing Is Therapy logo on the boat. What a cool name, because fishing is therapy. Tight lines.
Greatly appreciate the love and that you found value in the content and my setup. My goal was to do exactly that...make it zen and therapeutic. Always looking to make the day more about enjoying the outdoors and fishing versus dealing inconveniences.
I had the sane thoughts, which is why I decided to build my boat the way I have. Glad I did it, I enjoy my boat as well as my family. I'm glad you like my boat and appreciate you watching. I would go for it, if you can't find sufficient reasons why you shouldn't.
Thanks man, I'm glad you got some good ideas out of this build. It's going to be a fun journey building out your setup. Hope it turns out great! Now you have a good spring project!
Man glad you decided to check out the channel. Definitely a crappie fishing machine! This boat is setup for crappie, catfishing, stripers and even gets out in saltwater. Appreciate you checking me out, hopefully you stay tuned. More to come soon!
Awesome boat 👍 I'm planning on going with that same hydroturf pattern for my jon boat. I'm not too far from you up here in Guntersville. Tight lines and keep it up! Subscribed^
Yo!.. Really great stuff, simple, sturdy, not cluttered and its ALL usable tools.. Its like, Practical and minimal.. AND still seems really really upscale because all a guy sees" on this build.. is quality stuff. Everything a person needs to enjoy fishing and not tons of fluff... enjoyed the video..
@@fishingistherapy My brother-in-law just got a boat for fixing it up Ben on the boat twice but this year I want to do slot more fishing this year than I did last year or year before I’ve been waxing been fishing for a while been busy working all the time I’m 60 years old now and I miss going fishing but I enjoy it Overlook my spelling sometimes I don’t spell very good so anyway enjoyed it do you have a nice boat nice boat I’m glad you guys enjoy it God bless

Great job! I love the setup of your boat and I’ve gotten a few ideas from this. A solar panel mounted atop your Bimini would help run your trolling motor.
Real cool show! I also have a Tuhatsu 20hp. Thinking about a Mud Motor for a 2nd power source. Your modification hit home with my aspiration. Keep making your films. I need friends like you.
Glad you enjoyed the show. And I know you are enjoying that 20hp. Yeah my mods are making my life easier on the water. Stay tuned. What part of the country are you in?
Thanks I appreciate it, but having a 50yr old jon boat that's still floating snd running is what I aspire to have. That's cool to have that much history on a boat!
Really nice job on that boat! You've given me some good ideas for mine. Having the Garmin monitor on a pivot, mid boat is a winner. I have the seats you use and they really are worth the extra money. Right now my biggest problem is I can't get a day of wind speeds under 20 mph! I'd be curious to know the windiest conditions you'll fish.
Glad the content and boat mods have found value for you. Yes that pivotal mount is a game changer. Until I get spotlock the widest I have fished was about 20mph because it is hard to anchor properly. How about you?
Move the pivot mounts further back as far as you need with someone on the other side helping you, mark and mount where you need them.. you can then either fill the small holes touch them up with factory touch up paint, or get flush plugs that will fit them, been there done that, love them jon boats, good luck, Martin
Nice work on the boat! I'm looking at jon boats and you've given me some ideas. But I would never want vertical rod storage near where I am casting....I would be hitting that all the time, especially when casting side-arm.
Your correct regarding the vertical rod storage. That idea was scraped quickly. Check out my most up to date videos and you will see how I have changed things. Hope this video helped you. Thanks for checking it out.

Great job and well thought through my brother, I got a 16’ 83 alumacraft Jon boat, I totally gutted it, took out steering console, live well gone bare bones. Been running a evinrude 9.9 stock short shaft, planning on getting a 40 jet, I run the juniata river in pa. Great bass, channel cats and musky if you’re lucky enough. Will use some of your ideas if you don’t mind but I will try to keep this boat as light as possible. Really sweet video, Fish On!
That's beautiful to hear. Yeah a 16ft wide open is the way to go. Appreciate you checking out the content. Glad you like the boat. Yeah man I have never been after musky but I hear its a blast. Glad some of the mods are useful to you. Get that therapy!!
First I want to say it’s awesome how you answered every comment few channels do that I’m subscribing. Second how your rear seat is split instead of one long seat across like most job boats is that how this boat originally came I’m assuming when you bought it? Know of any aftermarket captain chairs you can buy for Jon boats like those boxes? I have an 18’ I’m converting and it’s got the long seat all the way across but I love that look of yours! Great video man!
Thanks, that means alot. I love to engage with everyone on my channel. I actually ordered mine customized this way from backwoodslanding.com in Alabama and they had weldbilt assemble the boat exactly how I drew it up. I wanted then to convert the bench seat into a split and turn the bench into a dry storage under my seatbase and the other side into a livewell. For clarity are you asking for insight on the flip up seat base I have on my dry boxes, or are you wanting to know about the actual seats? Let me know and I will do my best to answer.
Really nice job! Boat looks great. I build wood boats and have similar configurations. I really like how neat and well organized things are. That boat is sweet ,I love those seats.
Thanks. I agree, the seats are a must and they upgrade your experience out on the water.
That is crazy spacious with all you have done. Nothing beats a Jon boat
I added a 3 foot track for my bimini so I could adjust it forward and rear, also is the same as a T track which allowed me to add Rail Blaza mounts
I like that track idea. How did you fit it on the Curved gun Wales? I think I may try that out.
@@fishingistherapy Mine has a 2 inch flat gunnel on it, but they also sent me brackets to mount vertically as well
Yeah I have to find a way around the rounded gunwales.
Buddy that’s a badass boat, great job !!!! I’m starting with adding attachments to mine and you gave me some great ideas.
Thanks man, I'm glad you got some good ideas out of this build. It's going to be a fun journey building out your setup. Hope it turns out great! Now you have a good spring project!
This is a sweet build! Really dig the setup!
Thanks Keith. Appreciate it, hard to complain when I set it up exactly how I wanted it.
That is one of the best equipped Jon boats I have ever seen, you can buy trays that bolt to the chairs, they are awesome
That means alot. Glad you enjoyed the boat and mods. I will definitely look into the trays for the seats.
My little Tohatsu has been a great motor too, hot/cold she fires up. The seats are killer too my boat is set up very similar. Good stuff
Glad you can relate and appreciate how good the outboard and seats are. Lovebthe reliability of both. What size boat do you have?
Nice set up Happy fishing, keep your Therapy going
