    The 2nd chant is from Morocco, in alot of repressed countries like Morocco the football stadium is the only place where people can speak their minds without getting in trouble, because their sheer numbers protect them from the police/government. That's also why alot of ultras wear skimasks, in the club I support for example every ultra wears the same white reeboks and blue jeans with a shirt of the team at the games, to make it harder for the police to differentiate between the ultras when they try to arrest a specific fan. These aren't just football stadiums built for entertainment, for alot of people they're the only safe haven in their country where they can express their true opinions, that's why most governments hate ultras and try to get rid of them.

    The Morrocan song is a political speech. One person making the speech would be arrested, but what can the police do when a whole stadium 'sing' the speech. As you can hear, there is no repeat, just a flow of statements that everyone know by heart. Another Morrocan club has a song 'free Palestine' even more powerful, check this one and don't panic as it is not a violent song but a very very emotional song.

    I think one of the main reasons why European fans are so passionate is the academy system that we have instead of the draft system. Americans seem much more passionate about college sports compared to the major leagues because that's where they get to support local athletes, so for example if you're from New Orleans and the Pelicans have a team full of players that are from New Orleans (or the surrounding region) you'll be more passionate about the team because these players come from the same place as you and you can identify with them, because of the draft system however the Pelicans team is made up of players from all over the country/world.
    In football there's an academy system, every team has it's own youth academy where they develop their own talents, from age 5-21 and the best academy players get promoted to the first team when they're ready, most of these academy talents come from the city of the team or the surrounding area and have been with the club long before they made it into the first team. If american sports had that system half of the Pelicans squad or more would be local athletes who have been with the club/franchise since they were little akids and as a result the fanbase could identify with the team much more.
    As a fan you can watch a talent rise through the ranks of the youth academy and by the time he gets to the first team everyone already knows and loves him. When a player that stems from their own youth academy plays well the (real) fans will love him more than any starplayer the club bought for big money, nothing makes a football fan more proud than seeing an academy talent shine in the first team

      It’s just because in Europe we have old and great history and we do things with passion

    • @benjaminbronnimann3966
      @benjaminbronnimann3966 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@francelibre372 You know the world isn't that simple there's alot more factors that play into it than just "we have more history", their leagues also have plenty of history the NFL for example is over 100 years old. There's alot of reasons why US sports have less passion in them and that's not because Americans just happen to be less passionate humans, if we had the same laws and league system as the US ultras like we have them wouldn't be possible here either.
      First of all the US league system doesn't have promotion/relegation so there are no stakes or repurcussions for having a bad season which obviously results in less emotional investment, furthermore teams in the US are allowed to change their locations and they do it from time to time, idk how passionate you as a fan would be about Olympique Marseille if they just moved the entire club to Toulouse and renamed it "Olympique Toulouse" and adding to that due to the draft system alot of teams in the US don't have a single player that's actually from the region, I would be much less invested in my hometown club (FC Zürich) if none of our players were from Zürich.
      The ticket prices in US major leagues are also one of the main reasons for the lack of passion, the average American can't afford to go to games regularly whereas here in Europe (except premier league) the tickets are much cheaper and almost everyone can afford it. In the US you pay 80$ (+40$ parking ticket and 10$ for 1 beer) for the worst seats in the building, if you wanna sit closer you'll have to pay 100-1'500$ depending on how close and that's just in the regular season, during the playoffs when it really matters the prices skyrocket, on average 400-600$ in the semifinal and in the final even worse, game 5 in the 2019 finals had an average ticket price of 1'500$, if my club had prices like that 90% of the most loyal fans couldn't afford to go and the atmosphere in the stadium would be dead.
      And even if all of that weren't the case, the US laws still wouldn't allow anything remotely close to ultras anyway. In the US major leagues fans get banned from stadiums for trivial things like throwing a plastic cup on the field or sometimes even for insulting players, if you light a flare in a US stadium you'd probably end up in prison and get a fine that would put you in financial jeopardy for the rest of your life. If fans in the US started brawls and mass riots like ultras do sometimes the police would probably shoot them. Look at colleges in the US, college team fans are 10 times more passionate than major league fans because the rules at college games are a little less strict and all the players are from the same town/region as the fans. Ofcourse they're not as wild as the fans we have over here but you can already see a huge difference, the rules are a little looser for colleges and the fans are already way way more passionate. In Europe we have circumstances that allow ultras and in the US sadly the circumstances would never allow for a culture like that to form.

    Yup.
    The story of the club is the story of the town/city/it's people. And the reverse - the story of the town/city/village *is* the club.
    The two are intertwined as one. It's such an intense (emotional not really the right word) experience.

    • @sezo4178
      @sezo4178 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@saucemonstar1549 I don't know if this happens only in Greece. But here there are whole buildings of organised ultras with custom t-shirts, stickers and banners in each city, island or even multiple in a single city. Usually you also get your tickets to away games there. Each of these have flags with their logo ( related to the club, but not the club's logo ) that have a lot of value and are protected at all cost. Othrwise if stolen they might show that the fan club of that city is not powerful. Unfortunately that has led to some crazy scenarios from hijacking vehicles for the flags to ending up with having axes in these buildings for extra protection. Even going as far as to going from home to home trying to find a stolen banner.

      Not really, Ultras create their own Albums, in Morocco at least every year/2years your local Ultras creates an album that fans should learn by heart so they can sing it together during matches. For example the second chant is from an Ultras called Helala boys from Kenitra, Morocco. The chants name is Outro from the Album Irreversible and the album contains like 8 tracks. 90minutes isn't even sufficient for us to chant all the different chants we have

  • @systematicjim9295
    @systematicjim9295 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ppl learn these chants when they are kids mostly. There are songs that come and go but there are many that stay. There are songs that my dad learned as a kid.
    As to music or rhythm it comes from allover, movies, pop songs, folky music, commercials and very often classical music, for example Partizan Belgrade fans love that Giuseppe Verdis Grand March like this 🤣 - th-cam.com/video/m7MXPLx3hb4/w-d-xo.html
