We don’t have WhatsApp groups or anything, we know our teams colours and bring whatever we can to make those colours shine brightest before during and after the match! We sing chants from years ago and sometimes make some up on the spot and if it is a good one the whole stadium will know soon enough! It is actually a way of life! I was at a wedding and whilst the bride was walking down the aisle a chant came into my head, two weeks later I heard it being song before a game

Starts with going to games with your dad, then at 13-14yo you go by yourself and stand at the short side with the main supporter group. By that time you know most of the chants and by hangin around you'll be a part of the community in no time. No one respects a "football tourist", don't go to matches only to experience "the atmosphere". Support your local team.

I been Ultra for 10 years. It is so fun and you feel you are a part of family...You become friend with many of them going in games. We travel with buses, planes to support team and it is so fun, with jokes and craziest. Why is so choreographed is because we knew what to expect in every game and everyone knows all the songs. This is what makes you Ultra. We grew up with those songs and some of songs becomes local hits. If something special, sometimes they leave papers on seat for you to follow instructions. Quite a large number of members, goes to Ultra offices to work on choreography. In most stadium North side is reserved for Ultras, in that area you don't see to many families. We supported team and team supported us, many times giving free tickets and sometimes even organized transportation for us. We are integral part of the team, and no manager of coach can make decision without consulting with Ultras. O yes, you get sometimes in fight with opposing Ultras :). It raises your adrenaline, but you get used to it. After a week of stress, you need place to release all your bad energy. Try it sometimes, you will feel better next day.

Yeah whenever franchises get moved its brutal. i know a lot of people that have had that happened and just never felt the same way about the sport again. Could never get back to our best time but still have 50000-54000 people in our Stadium each week. Even if the last thing we won was in 1995. It's not actually a fight - there are no fans of the opposing team there, so it's all a game of pretend and having fun. Doing something like this mosh pit is a rather regular thing for Lech Ultras to do. I assure you, nobody got seriously harmed (keyword being seriously). Altough it does have an interesting impact on the fans of the opposing team - usually frightening, sometimes provoking. The real, planned fights usually take place out of stadiums, where there isn't any police or other officials around. Yes, there are some rules that the Ultras follow during these fights. Edit: Lech Ultras appear a few times in the video. The are famous for inventing a dance used by fans and ultras from the entire world, named 'The Poznań" in their honour.
You don't need a memo in Greece. Once you are in the stands of the fanatics there are watchers that make sure everyone is participating and if not you get a warning and then if you still dont participate they kick you out of the stand. So you either get in the vibe or you need to sit at another section. And on large derbys where there are 50k or 70k in a stadium for one team if they dont see you participate they might accuse you of being from the opponents team and beat you up. So you better be wearing a shirt of the team in derbys and make sure you sing along... No relaxing pass time in Europe but only hardcore support for the team.
Football in Europe is a replacement of medieval wars! It’s serous as hell. I know towns center that have been shattered by the visiting ultras if the lost the game!
I would say on average possibly but there’s a lot of die hard fans including myself with American sports! But I could see how some people would think that. I think the hardest part with American sports is how ridiculous it is to be able to go to championship matches. It’s designed for the rich to go and majority don’t have a dog in the fight. So things like the Super Bowl and some other championships don’t truly show the true fandom

We definitely see that, we know that American sports as a whole don't have that full affect. But there are plenty of teams and organizations in most leagues that have very dedicated and fanatical fan bases. You definitely can't just lump them all in to the same group cause it's not that way for most teams.
In most European countries medical care is free, even for the uninsured, so these guys don't have to worry about medical expenses, However riots are common among these organized groups both inside the stadiums and outside. Usually in Greece away fans are not allowed in the home team's stadium, unless it's a Euro league (international) game. When both teams have fans in the stadiums, sections of the stands are left empty so that the fans are separated and the riot police can keep them apart. Well, what happens is that you North Americans go to the stadium alone and leave alone, you are just spectators of a sports show, but the ultras go together, they meet before the games and prepare each event as a battle is prepared when it is local and they travel together in caravans when the game is in another city, hence the clashes between fans of different teams; They are not individuals who attend a sporting event, they are bars that almost like military units prepare for each game.
That happens in the United States as well but at no where near the scale that y’all do it out there! But most stadiums have events and big tail gates a couple hours prior to the games. Especially on college sports
Don't get surprised. Here football matches sometimes lead to real battles between the fans of the 2 teams. The police will eventually stop it. Some will get hurt but the problem starts when the fight continues outside the stadium. A lot of damage can happen at nearby stores and cars. That's when I run to hide.
I'm English, and there's a reason why European and South American clubs dominate world football...because the passion for the sport is more like a religion than anything else.

Heres the main difference between fans in Europe and fans in US. In Europe people go to football matches because of passion and love for the city and the club that represents the city they live in (overall we are all very passionate towards sports either national teams,or some local club). Theres also rivalries that just pump things up so there is always fiery atmosphere in the stadiums,such as those highlights you just watched. While in the US, thats not the case (might be wrong on that,ive never been on any sports event outside EU,so im sorry if im wrong),seems just like people there go to matches just for entertainment while in Europe its religion. @@MikiLund It's in Poland - Lech Poznań (Kolejorz) fans. One of the more significant Ultras groups in the country. The fight is taking place on the Ultras' sector of the stadium ("The Cauldron"). It's not actually a fight - there are no fans of the opposing team there, so it's all a game of pretend and having fun. Doing something like this mosh pit is a rather regular thing for Lech Ultras to do. I assure you, nobody got seriously harmed (keyword being seriously). Altough it does have an interesting impact on the fans of the opposing team - usually frightening, sometimes provoking.
The real, planned fights usually take place out of stadiums, where there isn't any police or other officials around. Yes, there are some rules that the Ultras follow during these fights.
Edit: Lech Ultras appear a few times in the video. The are famous for inventing a dance used by fans and ultras from the entire world, named 'The Poznań" in their honour.
You don't need a memo in Greece. Once you are in the stands of the fanatics there are watchers that make sure everyone is participating and if not you get a warning and then if you still dont participate they kick you out of the stand. So you either get in the vibe or you need to sit at another section. And on large derbys where there are 50k or 70k in a stadium for one team if they dont see you participate they might accuse you of being from the opponents team and beat you up. So you better be wearing a shirt of the team in derbys and make sure you sing along... No relaxing pass time in Europe but only hardcore support for the team.

I would say on average possibly but there’s a lot of die hard fans including myself with American sports! But I could see how some people would think that. I think the hardest part with American sports is how ridiculous it is to be able to go to championship matches. It’s designed for the rich to go and majority don’t have a dog in the fight. So things like the Super Bowl and some other championships don’t truly show the true fandom

We definitely see that, we know that American sports as a whole don't have that full affect. But there are plenty of teams and organizations in most leagues that have very dedicated and fanatical fan bases. You definitely can't just lump them all in to the same group cause it's not that way for most teams.

Well, what happens is that you North Americans go to the stadium alone and leave alone, you are just spectators of a sports show, but the ultras go together, they meet before the games and prepare each event as a battle is prepared when it is local and they travel together in caravans when the game is in another city, hence the clashes between fans of different teams; They are not individuals who attend a sporting event, they are bars that almost like military units prepare for each game.
That happens in the United States as well but at no where near the scale that y’all do it out there! But most stadiums have events and big tail gates a couple hours prior to the games. Especially on college sports
Don't get surprised. Here football matches sometimes lead to real battles between the fans of the 2 teams. The police will eventually stop it. Some will get hurt but the problem starts when the fight continues outside the stadium. A lot of damage can happen at nearby stores and cars. That's when I run to hide.

Heres the main difference between fans in Europe and fans in US. In Europe people go to football matches because of passion and love for the city and the club that represents the city they live in (overall we are all very passionate towards sports either national teams,or some local club). Theres also rivalries that just pump things up so there is always fiery atmosphere in the stadiums,such as those highlights you just watched.
While in the US, thats not the case (might be wrong on that,ive never been on any sports event outside EU,so im sorry if im wrong),seems just like people there go to matches just for entertainment while in Europe its religion.
