It's very nice to have options but people using the Noble should really spend time reading the manual and or learning how to really use all the opions within the radio. Dead band can be tuned out for sure. I enjoy my NB4 so much that I ended up upgrading to the NB4 Pro. Flysky is supposedly introducing 2 new receivers soon that will be "super response" types to be used with compatible servos just as with Sanwa and Futaba. The question that hasn't been answered is whether or not it will be NB4 Pro exclusive or not. Can't beat the NB4.
I am considering this radio to update from my Spektrum DX3R, I read about this throttle delay issue. I thought to myself that dialing in POSITIVE expo on the throttle channel (at least the go side) would even further minimize the delay reported by others?
For your model select problem hold sw2 down while powering on the radio. This will launch your directly into model select mode. You’ll have to select a model before the radio will fully start
If youre not into competitive racing but are into like competitive crawling or bashing or U4 the noble is amazing. You can set up so many channels and use slave receivers, you can have lights and winches and 4ws all at the same time not to mention the accessibility to not just left handed people but people with 1 hand, because you can angle in the wheel say if you only have a right hand you can thumb steer! (Seen this in person) and nobles have higher end receivers where you can set individual frequencies per channel if you get really into tuning your setup
@@ripmax333 its my personal favorite remote but theres always gunna be one or two try hards with theyre $600 sanwas for low latency lmao, i use my noble for my 4ws comp crawler, my 4ws 1/24 monster truck, I even use it for my old 1/36 losi micros. I dont race much but the only things ive hear negative about the noble is supposedly the latency which i dont care about

One factor that also I’ve considered is the prices of the receivers which they are very reasonably priced. I was looking at a Sanwa MT5 which is basically the same price but comes with one receiver. The noble comes with Two, the Sanwa receiver it about €90 and the Noble one is half the price.
@@ripmax333 the noble has a bunch of different receivers u can use some are $30 any AFHDS 3 receiver will work and the latency really isnt bad its just not as microscopically fast as a sanwa
I started same way, with a modified gt3b. Now upgraded to the nb4. The nb4 has a programmable deadband for throttle (ch 6.7 in the manual). I have set that to zero. Maybe it helps you as well.
unfortunately, I must admit the M17's menus and instructions are an absolutely nightmare... having said that, the "connectedness" it brings is unbelievable and worth the money when considered a radio lasts 5 to 10 years... and it's very reassuring to hear you felt it and so did your soon. Kudos for a balanced review.
I appreciate the comparison, i see a lot of claims that the M17 or other top end radios are 'better' but no one ever goes into detail as to why and its nice to see this breakdown While it may not be required any more if you are happy with the M17 i recommend going through the calibration routine to reset the what the controller things the mid point and endpoints are (iirc there is a special button that takes you to a hidden menu on boot) and dialing out the dead zone in the options.

Think you've helped me with some decisions. Loved my old mt4, came back after 5 years and adjusted to it like yesterday. That's my thinking, spend a bit more for a sanwa and call it a day. I've always been iffy with HK electrics. At least with a Japanese radio you're good for 5 plus years😊

Cool informative video on both radio, I was looking at the Noble for my bashers and speed cars but i found the Radiolink RC8X which is similar to a 7 or 10PX but it's around $300 so i might get one next month. And the M17 i'm kind of interested in for my race cars in the future but i already have a Futaba 4PM (Original), Would it be that much of a change going from a 4PM to a M17?
You can get it for 250.00$ right now with the receiver . I just bought one brand new ! The Radio link just want to say be aware yes it has a ton of new features yes it is a amazing deal still has over a half mile radius easily ! BUT it is still on that same ole receiver as every model prior meaning latency and movement speed is (IDENTICAL) to prior models . Regardless I bought it because well it's 250 fucking bucks 😂. Anywho just thought you might care m8 all the best to you .
i did come from a flysky gt5 to a futaba 3pv for my race buggy and god o god why dident i go for a futaba from the start... eaven the cheap futaba feels in contact and control of the car in terms of precision of the input on the radio and the reciver responce and no delay. not that i want to rag to hard on the fly sky its a very good radio for the money (as its downgraded to my traxxas slash) and for most people to run a basher or a crawler as it got 6ch reciver but for racing the same amount of cash for a flysky gt5 or a futaba 3pv the futaba will be a much better radio for racing.

@@CODMODKILLER at the moment i dont feel the need or can afford a 7px or 10px im not a noob at driving dont get me wrong as i raced TC cars in the past and gone over to 1:10 OR recently. had tested other deivers high end radios in my car, sure they feelt good in the hand but i dont gained more speed at the track compared to the 3pv i got right now. as i see it i gain more from better setup tyres and pracice then a radio switch for now.

If the Sanwa had a true touch screen display like the noble then it would be the perfect radio. Having to use the touch buttons to scroll through the options is so annoying and just outdated technology these days. I can’t bring myself to ditch the noble even though Sanwa is known for it’s responsiveness and does in fact feel better. It’s honestly a bummer though.
So buy a futaba as it’s a full touch screen if that’s the most important thing to you. Sanwa is easy to use but if you don’t know how the radio software works from previous radio models then I guess it’s hard to understand
i would say that sanwa and futaba is better in terms of feel and precision in the driving of the car and no latency (well for most people it feels instant) but its real hard to argue against the noblein terms of what it costs and what you get.

It does seem most that complain about the dead spot in the Noble NB4 NEVER mention tuning this feature in the radio setting, or in the expo settings. If you can race carpet offroad with the Noble NB4 I am thinking I could be fine racing it in 8th E buggy class, even coming from a Spektrum DX3R. I really wanna update to a more modern radio. Not gonna let my DX3R go anytime soon though, more I just wanna try a new style radio with a rechargeable pack and fancy touch screen.
Noble latency is under 3ms. The futaba is like around 2ms. Most mere mortals would never be able to feel a difference if you're feeling a difference it's because you're throttle deadband is not been set properly where you would like it You need to get into the menus and figure it out it's not a problem with the latency of the radio.
Looking to update my son to a nicer radio, he can drive competitively and our old radios are not up to par... MX-V and a DX3S that is as old as my son, like 15yrs... he has good reflexes and better eyes. ... Looking at Sanwa , either MT-44 if I find one used, or the MT-5 which is the new protocol of the M17... Also considering Spektrum DX5C or DX5 Pro... or the Noble... a few racers where I am started using the Noble last year... Budget is a concern, so M17 isn't possible... but a mid level Sanwa might be in the cards... Let me know if you have a Noble you guys would sell maybe...?
You can’t go wrong with anything Sanwa, Futaba, or spektrum. However the spektrum is a lot more user friendly. The interface is the most simple on the market by far but also has all the features that one would need to race. And this is coming from a sanwa m17 owner. Most people can pick up a spektrum and learn it in minutes where as Sanwa, and Futaba might take some manual reading to really Grasp everything. As for the noble I’m not a giant fan of it, personally to me it feels a bit clunky and the feel of the radio doesn’t feel near as good as anything made by any of the other brands that I have mentioned. But at least for sanwa and Futaba receiver prices are just plain ridiculous and your looking at paying upwards of 80$ for a receiver. Spektrum has cheaper options but they are still more than the noble receivers. If I had to recommend something though go for the mid range options of spektrum, sanwa, Futaba. The support locally will be better and customer service for all three will be a millions time better. So dx5 pro, mt44/mt-5 or even a mts, or the Futaba 4pm. I know I didn’t pin point one but I hope this helps a tiny bit.
Hi! I just bought an NB4- I don't know if you still need an answer, but the battery in the NB4 handle is a standard 18650 cell. If you have a local vape shop, you can even buy one there. You have to take out a few screws, but the battery lifts out- no soldering.

Sanwa M17 is overpriced, especially considering people like Dakota Phend win races with a $200 Spektrum DX5 which is nowhere near as plush. Flysky Noble is worth the price. Screw Sanwa.

Pros are sponsored, and therefore they must use the radios which are made by the radio brands who sponsor them. Yes, Futaba and Sanwa are good, but if other manufacturers can produce radios with response times, features, ergonomics, etc that are rival or equal those of radios from leading radio brands, then there’s no reason they cannot compete and be considered as an option. Companies other than Futaba and Sanwa *will* eventually emerge in the pro racing scene, and they’ll have to start somewhere. Not long ago, people spoke of Hobbywing the same way you’re talking about Flysky. Now look at Hobbywing. They’re heavily involved in high end 1/8 racing, and it’s not like they were making garbage directly before they started sponsoring pro racers. I wouldn’t be surprised if Flysky is currently in that stage that comes before involving themselves strongly in the racing scene.

Can really recommend the M5. It’s a really nice radio.
Go to throttle neutral and take out the curve at neutral. It will fix the throttle delay.

I have a 7pxr and i got a Noble for my fun cars but i popped a rx in my F1 for a few laps and i was super impressed!

Agreed. I really enjoyed my Noble while I have it but now that I'm comfortable with the M17, I'll never go back

Hold the silver sw1 button on top while powering the radio on and it will let you change model right away.

M17 was the best upgrade I did to my car. Super expensive. I came from a more basic to intermediate Futaba radios.

Definitely not placebo. You absolutely are more connected to the car as the responsive time is that much faster.

Companies other than Futaba and Sanwa *will* eventually emerge in the pro racing scene, and they’ll have to start somewhere. Not long ago, people spoke of Hobbywing the same way you’re talking about Flysky. Now look at Hobbywing. They’re heavily involved in high end 1/8 racing, and it’s not like they were making garbage directly before they started sponsoring pro racers. I wouldn’t be surprised if Flysky is currently in that stage that comes before involving themselves strongly in the racing scene.
