- This was a really fun day, and a great way to commemorate completing another lap of the sun. I finally conquered some steeper black runs at Kirkwood, riding the Cornice Express (Chair 6) for the first time.
Sometimes skiing requires a lot of thought and planning. But when what you're contending with isn't a technical challenge, but an emotional one (steepness), you have to commit to turning off your brain, because all it's doing is making you paralyzed.
I felt extremely accomplished after this exceptionally fun day on the slopes!
Shoutout to @benmetzger1547 for providing footage of the titular run when my camera's battery chose THAT EXACT MOMENT to die on me...
And of course shoutout to @riseandalpine for the ski sauce!
The group back at it again. I'm always happy to see you guys out there living it up
whenever I see the Up 'n' Over I just think about that one video where the dad shouts at his kid to do a pizza with his skiis.
One of the delights of resort skiing is just the random and the unexpected interactions of and with other skiers.
This is your best one yet!!! I'm so psyched to ski again, have booked my 1st trip to CO and will be at Keystone in February :)
That sounds like fun! It gets much colder in the rockies than in Tahoe, so be sure to keep warm! I hope to visit Utah in the next few years but haven't been to the rockies yet.
Great video as always. Love your quote. How true that is. Simply put!
Thanks so much! Skiing really is a psychological challenge as much as a physical one, but so rewarding that it's worth it. That's exactly what I want to share to the world with this channel - how being super skilled and skiing jaw dropping lines isn't the be all and end all of skiing. Conquering your fears and pushing the limits of what you can do is the truly rewarding part of skiing, especially when in good company!
How true that is. I agree. It's real important to establish the right mindset when sking. Your videos give me the inspiration to overcome my fearand not let the steepness of a run stop me.
Thank you
That's so cool! I am the first to admit I'm no daredevil and my approach to skiing is cautious, but it really is just a matter of getting the practice and just nudging on the edge of the envelope and stepping just a bit outside your comfort zone.
awesome run! Making me hope for some snowy days soon:)
They'll come back around again. Part of what makes skiing so special is that it isn't always availabile. Or just become super wealthy and buy a house in the southern hemisphere so you can ski year round.
Hehe … of course because I’m from the Northeast… I was like oh I better book the trip when I know they will have snow 😂 duh…. My Gortex and Wool is ready to travel!
