Sensory Processing Disorders

Sensory processing describes how the nervous system receives signals from the senses and converts those signals into physical and behavioral responses. Sensory Processing Disorder is the inability to use information received through the senses to function smoothly in life. There are specific types of Sensory Processing Disorders and much can be done to support students who experience sensory challenges.
