    It is Oct. 17, 2023 and I needed to make a pretty bow without cutting and measuring. I had used this easy method many years ago but couldn't remember exactly how it went. Thank you, Michaels Stores, for still having this video up to remind me how to make a one sided wire ribbon bow!!!!😍

    A friend of mine whom I haven’t seen in a very long time showed me how to make wired ribbon bows (this was back in the 90’s long before the days of TH-cam!) and I forgot having not made them in a while. Your technique was almost exactly how I remember it now that I’ve watched your demo. TY for sharing 😊

    Wow! This is really a "trust the process" type of craft. I thought my bow looked awful until I continued to fluff and arrange the loops. Thanks for the tutorial!!!!

    Thank you! I use a zip tie with my bows but I do like the idea of the pipe cleaner/chenille stem too! Especially as you can use it to connect the bow to where you would like it. Great job!

    The only ribbon I have is a pre-cut length of red wire ribbon with a subtle floral print that my parents have literally had for 20+ years, and the technique still worked out fine 🙂 Makes a nice tree-topper, I secured it with old bread bag twist ties

  • @mommy2libras
    @mommy2libras 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    If you're having problems with this, try using a double sided ribbon (I bought a red gauze ribbon at the dollar tree that is fine) and don't necessarily try to make each loop "1 inch larger than the last". You can actually try to make then approximately all the same size and you'll end up with different sized loops anyway and it'll make it easier if you're new to this.

    Instead of the chenille stem, I use floral wire, also called paddle wire, ( it comes on a paddle) to secure the bow. You can buy paddle wire at Michaels. Also, you can use non wired ribbon, too. thanks for the refresher. I am going to film myself making wreaths this year. I made two so far, so when I make my next one, I will film it so others can make it, too, if they want to. Thank you.

    It's easier for beginners to use double sided ribbon that way the ribbon has the same pattern on both sides, it becomes confusing when you have to flip and twist to get the loop to match the other side especially if this is your first time. Its supposed to be fun guys, NOT stressful. Have some fun. Happy bow making :)

    The bow in the video is a Florist-professional bow. It takes practice if you find it a bit discouraging. Buy cheap wired ribbon to practice with and save the good stuff once you have mastered it. You can even use two contrasting but complimentary ribbons (i.e., solid color and glittered pattern) by placing one over the other as you create the bow and shaping/fluffing the bow after you secure it.

      Krista Ruschmann it isn't you. This isn't a good tutorial, that's why you're failing miserably. I tried her way and it just wasn't working for me either, but a friend taught me how to make bows her way. Instead of telling us to hold the center loop with our thumb and forefinger at 1:50 (after she already made three loops) she should have told us to do that in the very beginning with she made the first one. If you do that in the beginning, it's much easier to hold your loops neatly together and twist the next ones.

    I'm sitting here for 15 minutes trying to get everything perfect and when I finally get it I find out I need something I don't have to finish it.
    This seems to be a thing with ribbon tutorials... make everything really vague and forget to mention things until you're three steps past them.

      Alyas Grey I always drop down the description before I start and usually, even in this case, there is a list of what you will need. It was there for you. 🤷🏽‍♀️ ❤️

    I liked the deer bow but I didn't like the fact that one tails images are upside down. Is there a way to make a similar bow without the upside down image.
