I'm a Christian, but I don't think finding Noah's ark is possible. The wood would have rotted away by now. It's still interesting to hear someone try though. And for the record, I am pro-science and not anti-evolution. Genesis never says how God made the world. It doesn't conflict. Birds came from dinosaurs.

    • @vinny142
      @vinny142 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

" The wood would have rotted away by now. "
The wood yes, but not the metal parts that they'd need to be able to build a boat of that size. Wood is not strong enough by weight, hence why humans never built an ark-sized boat made of wood. Even the ark-encounter building uses metal and it's just half an Ark, build on land.
And then there's the question of why cultures around the world never recorded that they were founded by "people from the Ark". Why did they all get different religions when they all stem from Christianity?
"But they all have flood stories" Yeah, about that: how did they write about the flood that killed them? We have documentation from before their floods and after, yet they did not exist after they were killed by the flood. Did they die and then just happened to be re-populated by Noah in the exact same place and then read the writings and just absorbed the same culture, forgot all about god and just went right back to whatever evil things the people before them were doing and god let it happen, making the whole flood pointless?
And the most pressing question: how did the kangaroos get to australia? :-)
And why did god order Noah to build a boat when he could have just kept them in a dry bubble under water?
Why didn't god just poof the bad people out of existence? (It cannot be to teach them a lesson because they all died and Noah was already a good dude)
Why did the babies deserve to die?
Why did the animals have to drown?
What did the plants ever do to deserve being killed off?
Was Noah's group really the only good people left on the entire planet? Nobody else was even worth a try?
How did Noah feel about having to do massive amounts of incest to repopulate the world? (Adam and Eve already did that so I guess god is ok with it)
How did they even do that, given that their gene pool is far too small to not get birth defects within two or three generations (lookup what happened to The Hapsburg royal family)
And we haven't even touched on the practical sides, like: how many animals were on the boat. Even if you accept that they only took "kinds" of animals, one feline species, one dog species etc, you are still talking tens of thousands of animals, most of which have to be fed daily. How did Noah and his group manage that?
The only way you can explain any of it is to invoke a miracle and the moment you do that you really should stop looking for the Ark because anything is possible and nothing needs to be explained and it's literally just "It's true because I say so".
No, Noah's Ark is a scary story, like Hell, to scary you into being a good obedient person "or else". The really stupid bit is that the bible also says god will never do it again, so... there's that.

Yes, the wood would have rotted away but even if they found a scrap of wood there is zero way to ever prove what it came from let alone from a certain mythical arc. The entire tale of Noah's Arc (and MANY tales in many versions of the Bible and books that were left out) could not logically have happened at at ever. So, it is just insane. ALL religions were created by man and all religious texts were written and edited by man. You have to use the brain our creator gave everyone of us and think in more spiritual and all encompassing terms. You have to use common sense as well and accept scientific information. There are good life lessons to be found in many religious texts but there is also plenty of insanity and bad things in them as well. Since they were indeed all written by man, it is best to take the good and leave the bad. A good heart and some common sense can lead you to live a life that any creator would be happy with. Being narrow minded and hateful to the other people that creator has put on this planet now and all of the people that have ever been on it, is not something any creator would like much less reward anyone for. I have learned to combine faith and science and look at the "big bang" as being that spark from the creator (whatever your culture calls that creator or doesn't). It set creation in motion and the planet and all life formed. Some of which we now have better knowledge of than we did in the past but we can only ever speculate and trust the science so far because it is changing and evolving as we do. Our beliefs need to change and evolve and be open to learning new things about out world and how it all came to be. The more open your mind is the more open your heart is as well. There is and always has been too much hate and death on this planet in the name of one religion or another and no creator, no God would have ever wanted that.

      And you'd be wrong.
First: The word doctor is derived from the Latin verb “docere,” meaning to teach, or a scholar. So it's very well suited for any field of study.
Second: The title "Doctor" is only used for the highest degree you can get in a university, and the education that an medical doctor has is *not* the highest available. (not saying your local MD is poorly educated, just that they did not have to get the highest possible education)
In other languages, like Dutch, the "problem" is easily solved by calling a medical doctor a "Dokter" with an E, and a university degree is a "doctor", with an O.
Also, obviously, nobody is ever actually confused by the word doctor, anywhere, ever. If you ask "Is there a doctor in the house", exactly zero doctors of philosophy will announce themselves. If you tell your friend that you are going to see the doctor they will not think that you are going to see a professor of linguistics. YUou are solving a problem that does not exist.

The story of the flood is a pretty generic one. I believe a similar story is mentioned in Sumerian texts, and similar versions exist in other ancient texts.
This does not necessarily indicate a collective memory of a single global flooding event, but rather could be because most of these cultures were riparian , and hence flooding would have been a common occurrence and a dreaded event to look forward to.

Well, they couldn't! We would be descended from incest for the second time! The first time being Adam and Eve's family. Plus, it certainly is something how we got all the different races that have ever existed and do exist from one Middle Eastern family. It's also utterly impossible that 8 people could have built this giant arc and had the time and ability to travel the entire planet and magically collect a male and female of every living thing on it. Then actually store and feed and keep them all alive and separate in this arc they built. It is also impossible that God could only find one guy that was decent enough to live and that the other people decent enough to live all happen to be his family. That is insane. It is also insane to think any God could make that judgement and throw a temper tantrum and kill everyone else on the planet. But this God ONLY had that tantrum once and felt bad so never did it again? We have always had decent people and totally shitty people on this planet at any given time! It is impossible that there was ever only ONE family on the planet that was good enough to live. How convenient they were all such great people but also very problematic given the incest issue. The two of every living thing is just completely impossible. It would have been impossible then and even now with our transportation and means it would be impossible to accomplish today. There is a whole lot of impossible in any given religious text. That is why our creator, whatever you call that creator, also gave us common sense and intelligence and the ability to do critical thinking. To know that every religion was started by man and that every religious text was written and edited by man. So, we should obviously take them with a grain of salt and certainly take the good and leave all the bad! There is a whole lot of bad in them along with impossible as well. Common sense, and open mind and an open heart will get you living a "good" life better than blindly following any religion or religious text that man has ever come up with. Be more spiritual rather than technically religious. At least that is the way I have reconciled religions, science, facts, stories, actual history and all that and come up with a way in which it makes any kind of sense and includes everyone on this planet equally. We have a choice as a human to be as good a person as we can or to be a terrible person. It has nothing to do with which religion we choose to believe in or chose not to believe in. The choice is far simpler than that.

It is completely insane and there is zero common sense going on with those people. Also, zero critical and rational thinking. Complete denial that every religion and every religious text was the creation of men as well. Nevermind that Christianity is a baby religion and is not the religion of most people currently on this planet let alone was it ever the religion of most of the humans that ever existed on this planet. Certainly not EVERYONE else that is and ever has been is "wrong" and only a tiny fraction is quite recently "right". That is just completely ridiculous. Nevermind even Jesus was representing Judaism! His "father's" religion and his religion. It is not likely or in the Bible that any son of God (or whatever you call the creator) wanted an entirely NEW religion focused on him to form after he died. Like forget my father's religion and my religion and just start a NEW one with me at the center. Yes, that will certainly please my father and he will be very glad he immaculately concepted me into the world just to start my own religion. Ugh! Jesus even says in the man written Bible (all the versions and discarded books) my father's house and my father's this. He never says his anything indicating that a new religion should form. Yet it certainly did and then right away was split amongst even the early followers and now we have MANY types of and branches of that new religion. Surely one of those must be the "right" one, right? Ugh! I was raised Christian, specifically United Methodist, but I also have the common sense that God gave me and the ability to think for myself and reason out a view that is more broad and inclusive of all people. More spiritual that any one religion technically. Otherwise, you end up having the nerve to think you are better than most people on the planet now and most people that have ever been on this planet and that is certainly not true and no God would want anyone to think that way.

Christianity is an infant of a religion compared to all the religions that exist and that have existed! All those people were put on this earth by the same creator whatever their culture called that creator. It is just idiotic to believe that ONLY Christians (and which ones because there are MANY different Christians) are the only people that exist and have ever existed that are "right". At least you have the brains to know that all the versions of the Bible and all religious texts were indeed written by man. That all religions were created by man. They were all inspired by trying to explain the world and who they are and a faith in a higher power and an afterlife. A search for meaning. They were all inspired by the same thing, so none of them are right and none are wrong. Not to mention they were also heavily edited by man throughout history. People should take the good that comes from the texts and ignore the bad, the ludacris and the impossible because they are just the writings of man regardless of them being inspired. I feel much more sad for the people that are so close minded that they can't look at religion and spirituality in a more general and inclusive way that actually makes room for everyone. The ones who are ignorant and think they are better than anyone else. Those people who have zero common sense have a big surprise coming at the end of their lives and it is not going to be a reward for being narrow minded, ignorant and hateful in the name of whatever religion they decided to blindly believe in.

Geraldo Rivera did a special on Noah ark back in the 90’s he showed and reported the ark trapped between an iceberg and a cliff in Turkey. Which seemed to have been deleted off the internet. I can’t find the video footage on here anymore. They deleted it off of their special list as well

The only thing in Turkey is a natural rock formation any professional geologist would recognize as a doubly plunging syncline and nothing more.

way i see it if you want to find it for the propper and right reasons then God will show you if he chooses you to go . everyone debates it but the bible literally tells you just like everything in every location .how can people not belive when there is so much evidence found by science or just belive it on its own and unlock the mystery by love and complete faith. The bible is the only book you need as a survival guide not only is it the past but its also the present and the future and tells you literally whats coming and about government .thing is the words are not without metaphores and dont speak how we do to understand. the bible is spiritual and full of lessons in loyalty and faith to many speak bad about how the lessons go because have no understanding why something takes place or the way God does it .
