I've never seen Charles Bronson say so much in absolute silence and project so much menace with minute changes in facial expression as the first piece of this mashup! Gian Maria Volonte is perfect as the gradually more intimidated opponent - but Bronson absolutely owns this scene with a few changes in expression - a tiny smirk of enjoyment of the effect of his look of absolute "go for it and end your pathetic existence" determination as he patiently awaits the moment of truth - probably the scariest "you DO understand that you have NO chance, don't you?" and not a trace of mercy in that face... an absolute tour de force for both actors and their genius director! Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns may not be the ONLY iconic western in a genre that featured MANY absolute masters of their craft, but the absolute good versus absolute evil they encapsulate so beautifully - wow!
