Nah, it actually IS a pretty bad bush to ward. You would want to place your pinkwards in the bush towards midlane so you can defend it better and your enemies' jungler/midlaner can get jumped when trying to clear it. You CAN put a vision ward in there but that's up to taste. I prefer warding the bush behind the enemies blue buff or infront of dragon pit. There's a lot to discuss but pink warding pixel bush as midlaner or jungler is straight up bad advice for laning.
putting a pink ward in that pixel bush is the worst idea 1- it will always be removed in like 2 min 2- you can't defend it just put it in the bush that close to you since you may use it to tell the jungler that he can gank from this side
Sometimes i end up dragging my entire team for a huge teamfight because me and the enemy support were fighting over who get to keep his control ward in the pixel brush in the river
"Don't put wards near your lane"- Darius wards and INSTANTLY gets ganked cause he warded too far and didn't notice they turned to mid and then back to him on river xDDDDD Ps. good tips, just the clips really don't go with them
Nah it showed exactly what he was talking about. If he didn't go to do that ward, he would have been back in lane when Lee came to his tri bush and most likely would have died with the Camille e from the rock
"Control wards are very expensive" If you've been playing long enough and remember the times where they were 100g, having to pay only 75g is actually not that hard to stomach Also green wards were 75g and I remember a time before the Sight Stone (and trinkets) existed and as a Supp you had to spend all your money on these expensive wards.. Nowadays it's easier than ever to have good vision
Easy tip: if you have blue or even yellow totem on cd when you die, swap to red while you wait to respawn. It will take them off cooldown a little faster
This one's a good trick especially when you're sieging. It baits simple-minded fools for a good catch and initiate a teamfight and the best part is they keep on hitting the ward instead of your minions.
@@andrewwilson9814 It was very helpful to me, as someone who didn't know any of the strategy behind placing wards and just stuck them somewhere near lane all the time.
Well I do learned something with this video but most of the infos I already knew or it's wasteful info, like the "don't ward near lane" and "place your wards were you can defend them" contractictes themselfs.
I'm a main support and I'm super glad you posted this, i already did 2 of the recommendations there but I'll make sure to do the other 2 so i can be a better support :)
I once had a game as support where by 18 minutes in we had no vision, so I hit tab and see 5 sweeping lenses, besides the laughter, I instantly bought blue trinket for that sweet 4th ward. Also as a support, if you're not in bronze or iron, I would heavily consider taking zombie ward or ghost poro, as its free extra vision as long as you do your job, and literally every champ can benefit from domination secondary, as no matter who you are, taste of blood or relentless hunter always does something good for you.
IMO you dont show us enough places to ward creatively. I assume most people know the here shown locations already. I was kind of expecting to see some ward placements that are underrated and unpopular for no reason or alternatives to popular ones.
If he told you 20 EXACT places to ward the word creative would be obsolete. He has given many possible matchups and situations to let you be able to consider places of vision by yourself intentionally.
@@nooberus9241 I agree with what Jan said, however something that in depth is more suited for content on the website, there are a lot of potential spots and hypothetical situations to propose. A few to look out for or even try yourself are wards outside of tri bush just sitting in the river, wards above the entrance to baron pit (just out of sweeper range) or mirrored near dragon, and wards that spot blue buff area + gromp over the fat wall.
I like the last point... that feel when there is only 1 or 2 yellow wards or 1 control ward in the entire map from your team and it is yours. But somehow you are getting yelled at by teammates for not "using" your wards xD
The advice on lane ward placement works for top lane, less for mid, and a lot less for bot lane when it comes to ward placement. The bot lane bushes in lane are used far more for support control that having wards there is sometimes needed.
Well, there are also the positions i like to call "Lee-Positions". Basically, when you have a Lee Sin on your team in the Jungle, as a toplaner on blue side and bot-lane on red-side you want to place a ward towards the end of the Bush in the River, right at the wall to Blue-Buff. This will: a)Give you decent Vision of the River and therefor ganks b)Enable a really fast gank by Lee with his Ward-Jump still up. Now, you would think: It isnt that much of a time-save. But in my experience this actually matters quite a bit, since 2 seconds of 3v2 with a Lee-Sin early can mean an easy First-Blood with a competent Laner. Also, Warding River is heavily dependent on Enemy Jungler, you ward different if they have a power-farmer than if they have a Gank-Heavy Jungler. But hey, I just spent way to much time trying ward-placements.
jesus, the quality of these vids are absolute bamboozles. Its not that i dont know the info from this vid, but i have never considered all of it at the same time - and the way everything is structured only helps with painting a more complete picture. Well-made, guys, you are awesome
Here's a question i have that wasn't really answered in the video. Say the enemy team does get the chance to go and kill your control ward, Is there any scenario where placing a second control ward to move it to deny the gold the control ward gives be worth it or is it better to let it fall, give them gold and re-position it some where else later. Thanks if you do read and answer this.
Interesting question, and its one of those "it depends" questions. Can you place it in a good spot? Will that one get killed too? Gotta consider the factors and decide for yourself
You see pros doing it every time. They place them to get information on enemy jungler, if they go to destroy it there is a chance you know he is coming so rewarding near you can prevent an incoming gank. Also you have time most of the time to walk to a good position with the 4 hits
Depends. If you wanna do it just to keep the enemy from getting gold from ward then let them have it instead of you trying to place another ward for warding's sake especially if there's no reason to. Instead, when they destroy your control ward, place a green ward near it so you buy yourself another 3 minutes of safety. That is if the jungler does not have red trinket.
me : spam those 4 wards, recall, spam another 4 wards, RePeAt. vision score : double the ammount of enemy sp meanwhile, kda : 0/10/2 ive seen enough im satisfied
I like to sometimes put a cheeky pink ward in that brush near the enemy's red buff. I tend to do this for strong gank junglers, as most junglers don't check that brush often and gives me information of where the jungler is at
honestly if you are a splitpusher that has a lot of pressure sticking to yellow trinket is the best in my opinion, why you might ask? Well you are strong enough that you can easily walk into the enemy jgl especially if you know where some of the enemy team are, 2nd splitpushers often get collapsed on from different angles to cut off their escape paths, so if you have more than 1 ward you can spot a squishy trying to cut you off, catch him and kill him eliminating one of the enemies biggest dmg threats to you before you get collapsed on and stack your conqueroer (let's just face it conqueror is OP LUL) this often gives you a chance to turn towards the rest of the enemy team and take them out while their main dmg sources or squishy sup is already gone giving you a chance to win a 1v3 or even 1v4 more often as well as absorbing a lot of pressure which your team can use while in the worst case scenario trade 1 for 1 or 1 for 2, also you share the resources better among your team gaining an exp and gold advantage just by forcing the enemy to make a move onto you. Another advantage of yellow trinket is, you can put down more vision on your side of the map which is mostly away from the objective giving your team more wards to place around objectives forcing the enemy in 1 of 2 bad situations, either collapsing on you which you can counterplay as mentioned before or letting you get stronger and pressure inner towers and inhibs. Also another consideration about which trinket to choose should be your general playstyle, do you prefer to catch people that are moving over the save paths, deep yellow trinket wards can do you a lot of favor, do you prefer catching people trying to get resources, red trinkets might be good because you can sweep a part which an enemy will go to collect gold and exp and then you can get the jump onto him. If you want to practice how to use vision always question yourself why you want to place that ward and if the play you are going for is good with the amount of information you have
I like to do deep jungle wards, brush/river wards, or objective wards. Hmm, so split pushers should get blue trinket, interesting. I guess I should start testing that out. I usually take blue trinket for certain conditions, but I guess it makes sense to take it as a split pusher.
Great question! While it might seem a bit counter-productive, you want to place your ghost poro wards in key locations that dont get visited often. Think about early invades, where you place a ward/control ward BEHIND the enemy red buff, or even in that bush close to krugs. It can just barely spot out enemy junglers as they are walking around! Otherwise, ward normally like 75% of the time. If you overdo it, the enemy is going to notice.
@@AceWindstorm I beg to differ, the ghost poro pings you when it spots the enemy, and if you just so happen to benefit from the extra adaptive force, it's a win win. And besides, it will scare off the enemy jungler from approaching you.
Really useful video ! I had problem that I win lane and have nice lead ,but still losing. 'Why'' ? I was asking myself. Than I realise that I have problem with vision and spotting jg. Thanks for this video man and keep up in great job :) Merry Christmas guys ! :D
You don't defend a ward if it's a jungler that discovers it because that means that you are in numeric disadvantage. In case your jungler is near you ask for help. In case you laner discovers the word you walk up when possible and shoo him away. This is only the most basic stuff but it depends on situation and where the word is placed, if you can reach it in time, if you are fed, if the enemy is fed, if the ward is almost dead, if you discovered the enemy jungler or laner are nowhere near your lane. Hopefully this helps :))
Somehow I get the feeling those TH-cam vids are often made because they wanna rant about some noobs who possibly destroyed their game by for eg warding boostedly ^^
Good advice. Once I got my wards going, I would try and place them down in the bushes so that my team could see the enemy if they hid, but all the stuff you mentioned it great and will keep in mind when defending bot and my laner.
I know a lot of high elo players says "dont place your ward here, next to your lane" But... in low elo, pre-level 3: that's exactly where the jungler sits for like 2 minutes waiting for an opportunity to gank. I always place wards there in the first 5 minutes of the game, because if I don't: my adc probably isn't paying enough attention to the map to notice there is a gank incoming. And, unless the Jungler just immediately steam rolls into lane, it's enough time to notice the gank is about to happen, and back off to safety. (99% of the time they DONT rush into lane. Because they're trying to see if we notice or they're waiting for an opportunity) Then, after ~5 minutes/quest-complete, I move my wards outward to the middle of the river, to their red/blue, dragon, baron, etc.
I've come across too many laners who put down wards and don't even look at their area, they're tunnel visioned into their lane. I have to ping them constantly since im always looking at the map while clearing camps as a jungler. So this guide is great, but only to those who have map awareness.

As an assassin sup like pyke or senna sup wouldnt it be better to buy a blue trinket because of ur first assassin item? Ive realized this and been doing this for my past few games and i feel like it works since ur assassin item is basically a ward sweeper. (sup main gold 2)
I'm thinking about that... I'm main support and I don't know where to put the control ward if it's not in the closest brush of the river because I can't place in other side of the river (the pixel brush is so far of my line and my adc can be in trouble if I leave of the line) and I can make it visible for the enemy jungler... Of course I can put a regular ward in the river without problem but... What happen with the control ward? Visible to any person?
Should you still buy sweeper on support if you have umbral glaive? I've been playing a lot of Senna, and it feels like sweeper is redundant because umbral glaive's passive helps clear vision in a similar way.
As a jungler i like to drop a pink on my side the bushes right behind bluebuff close enough to the edge to give me river vision. It's not a bush often checked by the enemy jungler. That way my mid can hug that side a little more and be more aggressive with that added security. It doesn't give near as much vision as pixel but the ward is likely to stay up longer.
I have a question as a lower tier supportmain. Whenever i go deeper to ward, my adc (almost) always ends up towerdiving the enemy. How can i prevent that from happening? I typing be safe takes to long and pinging doesnt seem to help.

Thumbnail: put an X on the little bush on river
Me: oh so its a bad spot there
Video: warding the little bush on river is very effective
Nah, it actually IS a pretty bad bush to ward. You would want to place your pinkwards in the bush towards midlane so you can defend it better and your enemies' jungler/midlaner can get jumped when trying to clear it. You CAN put a vision ward in there but that's up to taste. I prefer warding the bush behind the enemies blue buff or infront of dragon pit. There's a lot to discuss but pink warding pixel bush as midlaner or jungler is straight up bad advice for laning.
putting a pink ward in that pixel bush is the worst idea
1- it will always be removed in like 2 min
2- you can't defend it
just put it in the bush that close to you since you may use it to tell the jungler that he can gank from this side
I lit went from s2 to p3 only watching those videos... Bcs i dont have enough time to practise mechanics... Best youtube content here !!!!!!

Sometimes i end up dragging my entire team for a huge teamfight because me and the enemy support were fighting over who get to keep his control ward in the pixel brush in the river
"Don't put wards near your lane"- Darius wards and INSTANTLY gets ganked cause he warded too far and didn't notice they turned to mid and then back to him on river xDDDDD
Ps. good tips, just the clips really don't go with them
It wasnt even far bruh
If he placed a ward river he would of died so pretty much every useful ward spot is "far"
Nah it showed exactly what he was talking about. If he didn't go to do that ward, he would have been back in lane when Lee came to his tri bush and most likely would have died with the Camille e from the rock
"Control wards are very expensive"
If you've been playing long enough and remember the times where they were 100g, having to pay only 75g is actually not that hard to stomach
Also green wards were 75g and I remember a time before the Sight Stone (and trinkets) existed and as a Supp you had to spend all your money on these expensive wards.. Nowadays it's easier than ever to have good vision
For a lot of people, in low elo especially, the first lesson is "use wards and look at the map", myself included =$
I think I'm becoming very good at wards later but looking the map is just too much :s I also have the farms and the pokes to worry about
Easy tip: if you have blue or even yellow totem on cd when you die, swap to red while you wait to respawn. It will take them off cooldown a little faster

This one's a good trick especially when you're sieging. It baits simple-minded fools for a good catch and initiate a teamfight and the best part is they keep on hitting the ward instead of your minions.
14minutes to tell me where 4 bad ward spots are. okay.
I don't generally mind clickbait, but dude spent zero time on bad ward spots, the title of the video. Super basic video, that wasn't helpful.
@@TheEmolano Not all of us already knew the info. Sorry the content isn't tailored specifically for you.
I'm a main support and I'm super glad you posted this, i already did 2 of the recommendations there but I'll make sure to do the other 2 so i can be a better support :)
I learn from your guides it really helped me a lot thank you so much I am getting better and better in lol
~I made all the mistakes he mentioned in the video thought~ ;u;
If he told you 20 EXACT places to ward the word creative would be obsolete. He has given many possible matchups and situations to let you be able to consider places of vision by yourself intentionally.
@@janbrune6230 I think you don't understand what I tried to get across, thanks for your thoughts anyway :D
@@AceWindstorm exactly that is what I expected from the video. Thanks for clarifying that for me!
Never thought a 14 minute video could be done about warding
So much info, nice video
every time they said the word "ward" take a sip of your beer
You have been slain
13:37 for the 4 wards TLDW
I like the last point... that feel when there is only 1 or 2 yellow wards or 1 control ward in the entire map from your team and it is yours. But somehow you are getting yelled at by teammates for not "using" your wards xD
The advice on lane ward placement works for top lane, less for mid, and a lot less for bot lane when it comes to ward placement. The bot lane bushes in lane are used far more for support control that having wards there is sometimes needed.
Shows image of a pink ward calls it ”controll wards”
An Intellectual calls them ”pink wards”
Great video, the good use of vision is underrated. Good job guys
There’s only two places jungles can enter river
Blast cone: hold my fking beer
This is a super nice video, as someone who plays jungle a lot I find myself always thinking about where to put wards.
Blue trinkets can also be useful when behind to safely get vision in key areas/moments when it's not safe enough to walk up and place a ward.
You get it
Well, there are also the positions i like to call "Lee-Positions". Basically, when you have a Lee Sin on your team in the Jungle, as a toplaner on blue side and bot-lane on red-side you want to place a ward towards the end of the Bush in the River, right at the wall to Blue-Buff. This will:
a)Give you decent Vision of the River and therefor ganks
b)Enable a really fast gank by Lee with his Ward-Jump still up.
Artist for the Jinx pic in the thumbnail is Ayya Saparniyazova.
jesus, the quality of these vids are absolute bamboozles.
I'm brand new to this game and ive been watching your videos for a week or so now and it's helped so much developing good habits now
me : spam those 4 wards, recall, spam another 4 wards, RePeAt.
vision score : double the ammount of enemy sp
meanwhile, kda : 0/10/2

I like to sometimes put a cheeky pink ward in that brush near the enemy's red buff. I tend to do this for strong gank junglers, as most junglers don't check that brush often and gives me information of where the jungler is at
As support I always ward over the red wall on bot to proc their blast cone bcoz its a heavy jungle crutch imo
Need a ranged support for that
I'll do that in my next game with a ranged support, thanks for the tip
@@TheMyuken yeah and its usually them ranged supports that have trouble surviving ganks from vi rammus and the like

Please work on your pacing. The details are good, but this video is extremely bloated with superfluous info.
honestly if you are a splitpusher that has a lot of pressure sticking to yellow trinket is the best in my opinion, why you might ask?
Where do they take their gameplay from. That ornn at around 7:05. That play was scarily close to something I've done to the tee.
Is there anything that changes about this if I'm running either Zombie ward or Ghost Poro?
I'm pretty sure lens are good for zombie ward, so you can proc the zombie ward way more times. Since you need that to take normal enemy wards out
Thank you! I am a newbie and this guide may actually help me

Hello foolish question from a new player here:
How can I defend my ward if I'm not allowed to place it close to my lane?
You don't defend a ward if it's a jungler that discovers it because that means that you are in numeric disadvantage. In case your jungler is near you ask for help. In case you laner discovers the word you walk up when possible and shoo him away. This is only the most basic stuff but it depends on situation and where the word is placed, if you can reach it in time, if you are fed, if the enemy is fed, if the ward is almost dead, if you discovered the enemy jungler or laner are nowhere near your lane.
Hopefully this helps :))
Good tutorial. I've been doing a lot of these mistakes, but I gonna start using your advice from now
Somehow I get the feeling those TH-cam vids are often made because they wanna rant about some noobs who possibly destroyed their game by for eg warding boostedly ^^
Good advice. Once I got my wards going, I would try and place them down in the bushes so that my team could see the enemy if they hid, but all the stuff you mentioned it great and will keep in mind when defending bot and my laner.

I love the Darius taunt spam on his tower xD
My galaxy brain play in Iron: Dont place wards at all.
I know a lot of high elo players says "dont place your ward here, next to your lane"
But... in low elo, pre-level 3: that's exactly where the jungler sits for like 2 minutes waiting for an opportunity to gank.
Because they're trying to see if we notice or they're waiting for an opportunity)
Then, after ~5 minutes/quest-complete, I move my wards outward to the middle of the river, to their red/blue, dragon, baron, etc.
I’ve been playing gold-elo ADC a lot lately and I’ve noticed by the end of the game, the support and I have the same ward score. Total BS.
I've come across too many laners who put down wards and don't even look at their area, they're tunnel visioned into their lane. I have to ping them constantly since im always looking at the map while clearing camps as a jungler. So this guide is great, but only to those who have map awareness.

Very helpful advises thank you very much .
Tho i have one Q , imagine that ppl ward like u say , junglers will be almost useless right ?
If I play Senna support and buy Umbral Glaive, should I switch my trinket to Sweeping Lens or the blue one?
really helpful content. i did not know i have been spamming random wards as a support all this time lol
As an assassin sup like pyke or senna sup wouldnt it be better to buy a blue trinket because of ur first assassin item? Ive realized this and been doing this for my past few games and i feel like it works since ur assassin item is basically a ward sweeper. (sup main gold 2)
Would it be smart to place a ward near your tower if your playing jax since you cant q on towers?
I'm thinking about that... I'm main support and I don't know where to put the control ward if it's not in the closest brush of the river because I can't place in other side of the river (the pixel brush is so far of my line and my adc can be in trouble if I leave of the line) and I can make it visible for the enemy jungler...
Of course I can put a regular ward in the river without problem but... What happen with the control ward? Visible to any person?
This would go hand in hand with a guide that shows when to ward or destroy a ward, when to pink ward, etc.
He gave specific info for top,mid and support, but what about ad carries? Do they switch to another trinket or is it best to stay with yellow trinket?
it’s almost always better to take farsight once you reach level 9.
helps in not getting caught out trying to ward a risky spot.
I have a question as a lower tier supportmain. Whenever i go deeper to ward, my adc (almost) always ends up towerdiving the enemy. How can i prevent that from happening? I typing be safe takes to long and pinging doesnt seem to help.
