- As the Carnival Liberty returns to port in Galveston, Texas, new questions are being asked about the missing passenger that plunged off the deck. Samantha Broberg, 33, fell off the deck of the ship at 2 a.m. Friday but the coastguard wasn't notified until 5 p.m. the next day #InsideEdition

Apparently quite a few do just that.. Watched a video the other day where a man had fell, people all over the place were climbing up on the railings trying to see the rescue.. Go figure.. I was also on Carnival Valor last month and we also lost one.. Rumor has it she was sitting on the railing taking a selfie.. We were at breakfast around 8 am.. We turned around and searched for her with no luck.. The mexican authorities took over the search and we turned around and went right back on our cruise.. Never heard if she was found or not..

I remember this. She was actually with a guy that night and he never reported her fall even tho he witnessed it. He just went to his room and went to sleep. They never questioned him either.

That feeling when falling into the cold and deep ocean from great height, in the middle of the night, with nothing to hold on to, the only thing surrounds you is pitch black, and the only light source is from the cruise ship that slowly drive away from you.... Everybody made mistakes, but that one mistake cost that woman her own life. Really sad to hear.

On my cruise I remember looking down at the waves during the night and seeing waves that were pitch black. Must have been so terrifying, I pray that she's okay.
She probably died the minute she hit the water or a little after. The impact kills most people, and anyone who survives the impact doesn't usually survive long enough for rescue.
I don't think any of you realize how scary that had to been for her I can't even imagine it's not possible

When I was on my cruise someone fell off the cruise and we searched for 4 hours but couldn’t find him we had to report and continue back home it was so sad it was 4th of July too! He is still not found to this day😭

That is so crazy i went on a cruise and was so scared put my life that something bad would have happend but the night we went back to port to galveston the weather was bad that the eleavators were shaking and the boat was moving crazy !

Carnival is a terrible cruise line. Disgusting cruise terrible clientele.
I went on a Carnival cruise for the first time last Nov and will never go again!! The food and entertainment was horrible. Typically a person does not lose weight when on a vacation.. I did. The only good food was the 6 hours we docked in Cozumel.

I was on the carnival ship in 2012 and remembered that everyone had to outside at night and it was about a passenger fell off the boat

i was on the carnival liberty to the bahamas in october with my family
I was on MSC Grandiosa an MSC cruise and the safety video stated that if somebody goes overboard scream “MAN OVERBOARD PORT SIDE (or starboard)” and they throw them a lifebouey which is on every deck at least 90 times and you can find one on your cabin balcony (repeat yelling until the crew is notified) and then the ship will be alerted with three long blasts of an alarm now I have seen lots of cameras on the ship but I think that’s for the grandiosa cam to look outside from your cabin tv
