    Fun fact: You are more likely to hit a straight flush than correctly predict the flop.

    • @tomonetruth
      @tomonetruth ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a fun fact, but not true - if suits and order they come in don't matter, predicting the rank of three cards is MUCH more probable than having a straight-flush within 7 cards (I think about 1 in 3500). Even if you had to guess them in order, the odds would still be about 1 in 2000. If you had to guess the suits and order correctly - that would be rarer than 1 in 130000, and possibly worth making a youtube video about.

      @@tomonetruth Actually, the odds were much less than even you suggested. Remember, there were 2 components that the announcer was factoring in: 1) That a "3" be on the flop and 2) that the other cards be lower than the Queens and Kings. Given those parameters, the number of guesses that the announcer could choose from would involve a "3" and 2 of the other 9 ranks from 2 through Jack. Assuming further that the announcer discounted paired boards, and that a 3 was the lowest card on such a flop ( i.e. excluding deuces), the guess goes to a rather mundane total of 56 possibilities.

    Wow! the only time Taras isn't running his mouth is when he is in a hand himself.

      Anytime I watch one of these videos that seems to be a common trait for everyone at the table. I mean, did those two guys not in the play ever shut their mouths when decisions were being made? Nope, they only closed their pole holes when the cards were down and revealed. So yeah, TaTas likes to run his mouth, but after watching several of these videos, most of these guys are inconsiderate asshats when they are not in the game.

    As if the guy with 33 thought about it. If you call a 4 bet preflop with 33, 983 is about the best flop you can ever hope for. Just snap call. If someone has 99/88 then nh.

      @@dallastexas5653yeah he played his set perfectly. Only a fish would suggest he should have jammed the flop to try and get KK to fold just because a K fell on the river.

  • @MarcYuInside
    @MarcYuInside ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Taras should have called for 3 times. If you're the odds-on favorite (80% in this case), running it more than once works the percentages in your favor.

    • @JohnSmith-nx7zj
      @JohnSmith-nx7zj ปีที่แล้ว

      No it doesn’t. In the long run, running it 1/2/3+ times makes no difference.
      In this case running it 3 times makes it much less likely (though still possible) that Taras will lose the entire pot. But it also makes it less likely he’ll win the entire pot since he has to dodge a K or Q for 6 cards instead of 2.
      Overall his equity doesn’t change.

      We're living in the matrix. Little things happen like that. If youve played poker enough,you'll call a card or two. Calling the flop perfect was one in a million.
