Vids of Negreanu winning are very popular, but not as popular as vids of Helmuth losing.
Man, I remember when that four 3's took Kenney out early on, absolutely Everyone at the table with him for the rest of the night mentioned it. "Like - Did you really do that???". Daniel was such a beast, had only one real wobble if I remember rightly, but it truly was great to see him back on top form again. A very well deserved win in the High Rollers Bowl! Pure entertainment!
When was this? Did Daniel have some years where he was on a sorta cold streak and then have a resurgence kinda thing I haven't been keeping as much track past decade or so so was wondering?.
@@danielhicks4826 yes thats exactly right. last 3 or so years (prior to this one) he said some tough streaks, but the past year he as come back hot
@@danielhicks4826 Yeah he's had some rough times recently, can't just blame it on Covid but it didn't help, but this year he's come back swinging and back in his full flow. If you can find the vids of the HRB I advise you watch them - he was ruthless! (and entertaining of course).

Hand was four bet preflop and on his TH-cam channel he did a break down. TLDR Garret was 3-betting Jennifer Tilly light so Daniel 4-bet Garret cold and decided to rep KK+ and AK with AQ as a 3 barrel bluff. He said he put Garret on a 9 or 10’s-JJ

I like the old "nerdy" Daniel look better. He just had a more laid back approachable but still very distinct look. Don't get me wrong -- he doesn't look bad but he just kind of blends in with everyone else. It's hard to pick him out at a table whereas before it wasn't.

Yeah, thats weird. Even tho chances to hit running queens were like 1%, it should always count, cuz its poker.. like in that hand with quands, chances of that happening were 10 times smaller.

can someone explain why he goes for all in-500 on 19:31 even though blinds are 2000/4000? is that a thing?
My guess is that if he'd just been short blind he had another 3 hands to fold and hope someone else goes out before him to boost his winnings for placement e.g 5th rather than 6th if someone else went out first. This is a complete guess though as I was as confused as you.

I love when famous poker players make crazy bad bluffs and they go through and they are idolized for it. But never show the hands when that doesn’t work. Like 80 percent of the rest.

the pot is split between the two hands, so its possible to chop the pot and not eliminate or be eliminated.
