I would love to see a video showing various studio layouts from a top down view for small, medium, and large creators. You have a cool sense of style, but I have trouble envisioning it from above. I would love to see something like this as I'm redesigning my studio this fall. 😎
Very useful video on lighting. I appreciate the bts so we can see the physical setup. I appreciate your overhead diagrams of the setup as well. What's your most common go to for audio set up? What are your favorite go to lenses and why? As always I look forward to any and all future videos! -Will
Lighting the subject but where the background is totally black and or alternatively has some kind of lighting setup. I try using practical lights and don't really like those but when I put a full light it looks flat. Also, also if I put a full light on me the light falls off on the background more than I would like.
Aren't we just a little blessed getting content like this for free, amazing simple setup with one light and just the sort of info I needed, thanks guys!
Why don't you guys make a tutorial about lighting the whole scene, like a dark room with some practical lights and a model in it to convey a certain mood. Would love to see that! Love your channel!
I loved the fact that you spun... spinned... spun the videomic around to do a VO during the shoot so it... and this is key ladies and gentlemen.... it sounds good. And big thanks for, for a a good percentage of the time, shifting the framing at edits to cover the jump cuts. I am the Oldie McOlderson of the video world (been doing it professionally since 1984) and jump cuts are against my religion -- so seeing you utilize the shots (4K acquisition??) was refreshing and, I think, more fun to watch than the rampant Max Headroom editing. Overall -- an outstanding lesson in the idea that it ain't the number or brand names of your lights that makes the photo -- it's the brain behind the camera and learning to look at the lighting. Thanks for an entertaining and fun way to presenting it. Well done!
More than one light & a reflector and you're just accessorizing. Great tutorial. This is the first of your videos I've seen. Just subscribed. Well done; your confidence really comes through.
Got a lot out of this, please do more. Most similar videos only give you the WHAT to use and HOW to do, but you both added in the most important ingredient of WHY to do this.
I just found your channel today and I appreciate how genuine you guys are all of my old favorite creators are just changing im happy to find someone like you guys
This is such a great tutorial! I could listen to you guys explain things for hours. What I like about these tutorials is that you guys don't dumb down the language but make it understandable with diagrams and clear demonstrations. And Becki you look lovely in every lighting.
Hey guys, not sure if you've always done the end-of-the-video recap but I LOVED it! Very helpful for people like me with short attention spans and goldfish memory.
Instant subscribe for you guys talking and interacting like real people!! So many TH-camrs have all these canned and fake vibes. Hard to describe it. Like a televangelist “everything is always good all the time” type thing. Like they’re putting on an act-and it’s so obvious. I didn’t see an act with you guys. Just two people having fun teaching me something. Thank you!!!
One of the (hidden) tips I appreciated is Becki setting up the background right at the intro with two tripod stands with the roll down. Would love to see more videos about that. One goal for my next retreat is to set up a headshot area so everyone who shows up can come away with new photos when they speak, present, etc. etc.
Never heard of you guys, clicked on a whim when it was in my recs. Actually felt like I learned a lot, your editing really presented a great look at how it all worked. Made me realize I should probably pick up a reflector haha.
I'd love more lighting videos! The wife and I started a theme park TH-cam channel, but for obvious reasons we are shooting more content at home right now, so we've been playing around with lighting. This was very helpful!
found your channel in a featured video on musicbed. Love your videos, im still learning and your videos are brilliant. LOVE your camera presence it makes the videos so easy to watch. Thanks guys
I've been looking for lighting tips to understand how to record videos for my future freelancing business and dammit you guys nailed it. We share the same aesthetic, so your tips are very on point. You give all the information, very straightforward and useful. You are fun to watch and really, I've become a big fan of your work in less than an hour. 🖤
Thank you for giving a straight-forward video on lighting! It's exactly what I needed since I'm all new at this. The 16 dislikes came from those looking for fancy transitions and backflips on epic mountain scenery.
Awesome, you know what would help more, some tips or suggestion on next video to create the background full black and subject sharpn without losing details in the edge.
Yea please more lighting videos! Would be nice to have gels used for hair and background if you could demo it and what colors would be more appealing? (for video)
Loved seeing these different light setups. Would love to hear more about how these with a simple backdrop break down in price. I'm looking to buy a setup but don't really know what's most important to get first.
New viewer here and what hit me first was both your personalities. I enjoyed the video because of it and found your tips to be so useful. Subscribed as well 🤘🏻
OMG when Chris started to fan his fake long hair LOL! Great video and lots of useful information you two! Love the amount of love in this video between the two of you too!
Man it’s fun to have a studio again. What other video/photo tutorials would you guys like to see?
How about playing with gels?

How about 2 lights?
Lighting the subject but where the background is totally black and or alternatively has some kind of lighting setup. I try using practical lights and don't really like those but when I put a full light it looks flat. Also, also if I put a full light on me the light falls off on the background more than I would like.
When you would throw up the lighting diagrams, wheeeewwww - love those diagrams. great setups!
Thanks Cody!! I always found diagrams like that helpful when I started getting into lighting so hopefully they are useful!
i spy 4 type faces(?). That’s basically the design equivalent of shooting 4 arrows from bow and actually hitting your target.
Dayyumm😂 Becki with her hair down In the ring light setup like okaaaayyyy👀
I see a lot of youtubers advise new channels to stick to one thing, but this channel is all over the place and I love it.
It is my dream to make an interview with a couple of creatives like you! Congrats for this video
Damn the studio is looking NICE! Great video guys!
Always so dope for some late night wine, and shots with my beautiful wife in the studio. Thank you both!
Aren't we just a little blessed getting content like this for free, amazing simple setup with one light and just the sort of info I needed, thanks guys!
4 hours of light workshop completed in 9 minutes. Good tutorial adding to my favorites.
I love how you guys are adding lighting diagrams on the side of the tutorial at the same time! This is great!
Why don't you guys make a tutorial about lighting the whole scene, like a dark room with some practical lights and a model in it to convey a certain mood. Would love to see that! Love your channel!
ALLL the yes to this! Just shot part of one so I’ll definitely make it into a video! Three lights and three practical‘s
I'd so love to see this too. I've been searching for something similar for some days now.

Where have you guys been all my life! Love love love you guys!
This was cool! Not the typical lighting setups people go for 👍🏻 I’ll be trying these for sure!
Good to see the way you guys presented the video .. no drama pure real
MORE OF THIS PLEASE! This is the best, simplest and most understandable lighting set up tutorial I have ever seen!
Thank you so much!!
@@BeckiandChris Thank you for keeping me inspired. I modeled my home studio after your videos! Thank you so much

As brilliantly served as ever. Your tutorials are simply great and yes please - more like this one about lighting
Got a lot out of this, please do more. Most similar videos only give you the WHAT to use and HOW to do, but you both added in the most important ingredient of WHY to do this.

Very helpful for people like me with short attention spans and goldfish memory.
Glad you liked it! Will keep it in mind for the next one!
One of the best educational videos you’ve done so far.....EVER!!!!! Loved it. It’s given me some ideas. 👍

Yall are too cute! This video made me smile so wide looking at both of you ❤️
This tutorial was very helpful especially for somebody like me who doesn't even know where to start when I don't have natural light!
Awesome tutorial. Laid back and fun...and Becki in the ring light, what a beauty!

Thank you for this video, guys. I had learnt a lot and love the energy you two have, kept my hands off skipping ahead.
The look of your videos is just amazing. Loving these tips for making the most out of minimal equipment
Nice video. Both of you are wonderful together. When Chris basically poked you in the cheek, that was funny, like it happens all the time.
He’s always at that 😂
Woke up on my birthday to a Becki and Chris video- best present ever!! ❤️
Happy birthday!

Loved seeing these different light setups. Would love to hear more about how these with a simple backdrop break down in price. I'm looking to buy a setup but don't really know what's most important to get first.
Absolutely amazing and super helpful. Your tutorials really help a small time budget film maker to bring out the most in their resources.
Thanks for the help! I'm having trouble lighting short real estate videos. Maybe you could do a video on that subject?
You guys together are too funny! Great video!
That was awesome. I'd like to know how to combine flash and constant (photo and video) lights. Basically to use what you have vs buying for each type.
First video I’ve ever watched from you guys, loved it! Great video and I love your guys’ charisma! 😃
This was truly enlightening 💡
New viewer here and what hit me first was both your personalities. I enjoyed the video because of it and found your tips to be so useful.
