Man your voice suprises me every time. You have one of the best, if not THE best voice I have heard on TH-cam. And every time I watch it, I think the same thing. But then when I come back a week or two later to a new video I think "nah I built it up in my head he's not quite that good..." and then you start singing. And I remember that you ARE that good. Wow!
Thank you. I was fortunate enough to see Berry Oakley sing this with the ABB on Tuesday, August 17th, 1971 at the Boston Common. That was my defining moment as a musician to be at 16 years of age.
This is one of the coolest songs. I liked it right away when i heard Muddy Waters doing it.........Blues fits you very well, thanks for this :-) oliver
Thanks for your comments. The hardest thing to get the hang of at first was figuring out when to start the loop. Sometimes a verse has a lead in vocally or instrumentally. However, the loop has to start on one. Next, hitting the record pedal exactly on one of a measure to start a loop and hitting it again on one after the end of the last measure takes the most thought and practice. I learned the ins and outs of looping on the fly, usually on a gig.
Thanks for the suggestions and hints, Mark. Very much appreciated! You appear to have learned the ins and outs pretty darned well. Guess I need to put some more time in woodshedding w/the loop station!
This is well mixed , I actually extracted the audio and listen to this version when Im in my car sometimes. It sounds like a processional recording and while there are many versions and nothing beats the original-- this is one of the best renditions I've come across
Man you really sound like Huey Lewis, which happens to be one of the most powerful voices in the music industry in my personal opinion, amazing cover 🙏
On one chord songs you can lay down one to four measures usually. On a 12 bar blues you can lay down the entire form. Just think of it as recording the guitar while you sing a verse and recalling the recording to solo over. Songs like Hey Joe, Little Wing or any 12 bar blues lend themselves to looping. Where it gets more difficult is where you have verse, chorus and bridge arrangements. Sometimes you record just the verse and pause the looper while you play the other parts.
Verrrry tasty. Really enjoying this one, Mark. Love the way you do these in one take by laying down a track and playing over it. Do you find it easy to do w/the RC-20? I've got an RC-2 and it seems to certainly take some getting used to...
I have already posted a vid of "Outskirts". It's not the ABB arrangement. I actually downloaded a shuffle jam track and thought Outskirts would be cool to do.
Hey man! Amazing work! Really cool! I have a question for you, if you dont mind. What type of string you're using in the recording? Thank you very much for this awesome support to the blues
@HernanZitoZin Hey man! Amazing work! Really cool! I have a question for you, if you dont mind. What type of string you're using in the recording? Thanks for the comment. I'm using Elixer regular light gauge Nanoweb (12-53). Mark
