    • @UnderwaterAlexJones
      @UnderwaterAlexJones ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I grew up watching him every Sunday during football season, he had so many runs that barely went anywhere where he made 4 guys miss and the 5th guy got him that nobody will ever see again because everybody remembers the big runs and touchdowns. He was pure magic that has never been seen before or since.

      I was too young to see him play, but watching his highlights I've never seen anybody cut like him. So fast and smooth, and he had such control and could stop on a dime he had a really strong lower body.

      @@sydboskiTo be fair you are comparing him to damn near the fastest nfl player ever, and fastest man in the world at one point who won gold in the 100 at the Olympics, who would probably be running 9.8’s with current track and field equipment/surfaces. Yes, Gale was not as fast as him lol, but he was a burner for sure. 😂😂

    • @sydboski

      @@elitemidrange Sayers ran a PB of 9.7 hand time in the 100yd dash.

      Mel Gray 9.2
      Cliff Branch 9.2
      Willie McGee 9.1
      Jim Hines 9.1
      Bob Hayes 9.1
      To convert 100m time to simulated 100m add +0.9. Then add 0.24 to convert hand time to simulated fully automatic timing. So that 9.7 hand time converts to roughly a 10.84 fully automatic timed 100m. 10.84 100m would tie Sayers with Jalen Waddle at 104th in NFL history among players with verified fully automatic timed 100m dashes. I know a lot of people say that what Tim Tebow did on that slant route to the late great Demaryius Thomas against Pittsburgh almost anybody can throw that pass but you have to have good timing on that throw, if you throw too late the ball will end up behind your receiver and if you throw too early the ball will be too far ahead of your receiver and you’ll be liable to getting him killed by a linebacker or a safety in that area. Yeah the play was simple but Tim in at least the only time in his entire NFL career put the ball exactly where Demaryius could catch it and then turn up field for a long touchdown. The rest of the play was Demaryius’s pure speed outrunning the entire Steelers defense.

    Great vid with great clips. Love the Dan Connolly run at the end. No clips of Jerry Rice? Would like to see Larry Allen (6'3, 325lb) running 50 yards to catch a speeding Saint's linebacker. Lastly, there's a ton of "he's too fast" for interceptions/pick 6s/chasing runners,... like Deion (many), Rod Woodson, Charles Woodson, Troy P, Ed Reed, Champ Bailey, Darrel Green, and "Old Man Willie" Brown in the superbowl!
