This is an old video but it suddenly popped up on my TH-cam recommendation and as someone working on a webtoon with a lot of constant change between two different spaces this is very helpful
"that's okay, I cannot morally justify riding bikes anymore" okay that was hysterical, as someone who had planned to draw bikes and just changes to roller skates
Your videos are very helpful and I really like the way you explain things. They also helped me find your comic, which is great and honestly underrated. You've gained a reader!
I'm a viewer from Thailand. Thanks for sharing your techniques. It's very helpful! Hope you will be successful in your work too. (your webtoon looks interesting! I will read them ❤)

My biggest mistake in making a comics is making it like it's a storyboard for a cartoon. I don't read much comics , so maybe that's why I invision a cartoon in my head(which I won't make because it's hard to) and make a comic cause it's a lot easier. I don't really know how to imagine a comic and that's a problem
Have a weird question but what size actually is a typical phone screen? Especially what size you use? Because I Google it and basically told me diff phone have diff phone screen size....😅
It's true that there are a lot of different phone screen sizes. There's probably multiple stats out there, but one I just found listed 1080x1920px as one of the most popular resolutions. It definitely is a default resolution (HD, just vertical), so I think it's not a bad one to use as reference.
Yes! I focus on webtoons, so my specific examples often use layouts that are geared towards the effect of scrolling a webtoon on your phone. However, I create my comic to also exist in a paper version, and I don't change the scene transitions depending on which format the comic exists in. So all of these techniques are still valid in paper comics, though their application might look slightly different.

You're welcome ♡
Can you make a tutorial on how to make a webtoon panel where in a character would have a flashback?
Do you know how to flash back and forth from a scene like in school bus graveyard ch 43?

Just read more comics! The more you read, the more you will get a sense for them. :)
@@simondrawsstuff haven't thought about it lol

Wow...! Talk about great timing. This is *exactly* what I needed! Plz accept this sub as thanks🙂
Can we use the same technique for paper comics?
