5 Fast Ways to Let Backgrounds Boost Characters
Im working on my webtoons and this time I'm taking my time, basically my first webtoon episodes were not that best crappy and long and bad grammar so Im going to work on my next 3 episodes and do them right.
5:15 i tried to do this but I loved my original idea too much so now I’m making a longer WEBTOON story, I might quit it later if I stop liking it but rn I’m really happy so whatever works😭
Thank you for such valuable tips. It means a lot to us 🥹
Great video! I have a question... Where or how can I print a spot color? Especially about "on demand print".. How I can get it? It seems every digital printer only use cmyk process colors.
Hey, I wanted to make a webcomic, but I don’t have a digital pencil and can only use my finger to draw, and I want to release quality comics
Can this work with gradients?
Gradients should also work in CMYK or with Spot Colors, yes.
This video is so helpful for character design too
This is a FANTASTIC resource! Your specific examples were very illuminating (pun intended), and did a great job showing how the various modes were used for different aspects of your shading workflows. Also, I really appreciate your including follow-up material. Thank you for this tutorial!
@@WandaBKBoyer Glad to hear you found it this valuable!
I'm new to both CSP and comics, this was very specific and helpful - thank you
First of all, this is a wonderful video, as someone who's been doing a comic on the long run for over 6 yearsw at this point and having only published 7 episodes, seeing that most of these tricks and techniques are ones that I've "developed" in an auto-learning process makes me feel actually really good. I'm going to add something I do regarding the 3D models for bg that you said a bit before 9:16 So, I'm a recently graduated architect, so naturally, I know how to model buildings and sites (and I do not mean to brag, but even in my field I'm actually REALLY good at it), and the method I use consists of modeling EVERYTHING in the softwares that I use with are Blender and Rhinoceros+Grasshopper; however, instead of using the 3D models to take screenshots and draw over them, I actually Render them, filter them with fotosketcher to give them a painterly look, and just stright up slap them in the background, so I can focus on drawing the characters and the fight scenes (because it's an action comic) I have yet to finish the video but first I just want to tell my experience with the comic: It's a fanfiction on an existing IP, so obviously I cannot make money out of it, despite the cast being 96% OCs with the remaining 4% being from the original franchise; however, I've always been so passionate about this story that I continue to pursue to somehow finish this massive tale just to get it out of my head, but at the same time, doing this project has helped me grow so much as an artist, as a writer, as a storyteller, and as a person; but not only that, I have managed, in parallel, to develop some original ideas only left to execute them that would have probably never come up if I hand't done this project. That said, you've earned a new subscriber.
If someone asks for a printed copy of maybe upcoming Webtoon I’m saying :NO
I tried to set the webtoon export setting that you use and I got the following error : ( Please change the division height to be less than the total height. ) Do you any idea on why yours saved and I get the above error?
I was able to figure it out. If anyone wants to know how to page setting just hit me up.
wish theres a way to personally ask you questions without sharing it publicly on the comments..

Amazing tutorial !
I love it ❤
This is a great breakdown! THX!!!
Thank you so much, for the longest time i was trying to figure out how i would be able to have both a physical and digital copy of my comic without redrawing everything😩
App name?I have no info about webtoon how to use but I got a great idea right now and I think if you support I would be grateful to you
I use Clip Studio Paint
very helpful ty
I need vector layers on procreate because when I move line Art around, it ends up blurry any advice ?
Why did I click on this video thinking it was about starting to READ a WEBTOON LOL- anyways great video! was not applicable to me :)
@@codemari hahaha man! Thanks for giving me a good chuckle! Glad you enjoyed the video regardless :)
im also making my own comic and this was such a helpfull video! the tipp with using Sims for Modeling was SUCH a great idea it saved me haha x)
Thank you !!!
Thank you so much for making this video! It's help a lot!!!
Great video tons of information and options. Do you have any videos or tips for making large letters for the title of a comic for the cover?
I often end up doing those by hand instead of using fonts, to give it more of a unique look and personality. So I would recommend treating it like drawings - do some rough sketches (you could even start with a font and then transform it or draw over it) and then finalize it later on.
SUB VIEW!? Im now embarrassed by how I used to look at references 😅 Thank you for all the other CSP tips too! 🫶
The best vid so far that helped me actually transfer my workspace from krita to csp ❤❤❤ Thanks❤
i saw you won the msi 2023 creator award.Your artwork was amazing, did you participate this year? I am participating for first time .I am having some difficulty in submitting, please help me 🥹 When I'm going to submit, it is showing "Screenshot in production" what should I give here and It is also asked to provide video here, is it necessary to provide timelapse video in graphics design catagory
I'm sorry I'm seeing this so late - I hope you were able to figure things out. I am not participating this year. It would have been fine to just show a normal WIP screenshot of whatever software you used to create the program, I think. I personally only submitted the timelapse because I already had it thanks to the Clip Studio Paint feature, so it seemed like a good thing to do. Good luck in the contest!
Good tips. Especially those last few. I like that.
Trying to do the megaman Logo thing. It's skewued upwards but all the letter are level with each other.
This is so helpful T.T Thank U!
I like Meredith
Hey bud, thanks for the tips!!✨💅🏻 Highly appreciate your efforts
How do you add music to Webtoon?
❤ Your video is really beautiful and useful. It is a video I watch over and over again, thank you for everything. 🙏 For coloring, you did not explain the general coloring except for coloring the "line". I noticed that you do the coloring in the raster layer. I learned something about it in another video, after all, what's the point of vector work if it's not all vector (line and color)? He does the coloring process using the speech bubble. (It works like in Adobe illustrator) Video name:" How to ink and COLOR with vectors in Clip Studio Paint! | Dadotronic" from CLIP STUDIO PAINT channel
Thank you! The video focuses on lineart, so that's why I did not go into my overall coloring process. The reason I don't use vector layers to color things is that you cannot use the fill bucket on a vector layer. I generally try to already set up my files in a big enough resolution according to my needs; and even if I had to upscale artwork later, my style often deals with flat color fills rather than super detailed work on a coloring layer (which upscales more easily). For these reasons, I am okay not having vector layers on my colors. Using the speech bubble seems like a creative idea! Personally, I really like the fast nature of the fill bucket tool. When making comics, every bit that speeds up the process is helpful!
Heyy, thank you for the tutorial! Would it be best if one was to change the colour profile to CMYK before finishing the artwork? Would the colours look (in theory) the same if it's cmyk from start to finish? Thank you
If you create the image in CMYK from the start, then yes, the colors will look the same when you export it in RGB. It does limit your color selection, of course. So I think whether that's the best option depends on what you're going for! If you plan on using a lot of bright and vivid colors, and want to primarily share the image online, even if you offer some prints, then it might make sense to work in RGB first, and then optimize for CMYK later. Inversely, if you primarily want to focus on printing your image, and hope to give people an accurate impression of the colors even when looking at the image in your online store, then it might make sense to work in CMYK from the start.
how do i save my workspace?
Select the menu "Window" > "Workspace" > "Register Workspace". You can then choose between "registered"/saved workspaces under "Window" > "Workspace" where they should show up. Alternatively, choose "Manage Workspaces" and you can select them from there, too.
Help I’m desperate I didn’t know where my brushes go and everything is messy how do I fix this?! And set everything back to normal I’m gonna cry
Go to the menu option "Window" > "Workspace" > "Reset to Default".
@@simondrawsstuff thanks I found out yesterday ahh I was so desperate but you’re so kind for helping others ❤️
Getting text aligned to the text box feels like a living nightmare. I was hoping this would be something mentioned in this video, but is not. Am I missing something? When I resize the text box, the text moves around unless it's exactly in the center of the box, but there is no way to make sure it is exactly centered, so it's this game of jiggle the box, jiggle the text, jiggle the box, jiggle the text, and so on. Any advice?
Once you have a text box, pulled up, you can select the entire text in the text box and pull up the "Sub Tool Detail" window (small wrench in the bottom right of the "Tool property" window). Here, go to "Line space/alignment". Select the "Center" Alignment, and select the "Center" Position in frame. Hope this helps you!
This is so usefuk! Thankss!!
Wont let me check the crop mark
How do you get the command bar and menu bar back on iPad? I hid it now I can’t get it back
Try this: ask.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=17758
@@simondrawsstuff Thank you so much! It worked!! U helped a lot! Have a nice day, and ur vid was rlly great btw! :)
wow! what a great resource video! so much helpful information. Thank you heaps!
I loved this so much
Hey, I’m trying to find a way to publish my own comic on canvas but I can’t figure out how to publish using iPad. Can anybody please help😭😭IVE BEEN STUCK FOR TOO LONG.
What exactly is the problem you are facing? I am not sure that I will be able to help since I don't have an iPad, but if you describe your problem, I still might be able to.
can’t you just adjust the file size to match need, and then download each image separately. And then put the together on the canvas later??
Thanks for saying that in the last. It really felt sooo good to hear! Yes! I am making them for myself and will keep on making them for myself!!! Thank you for the video!!!
9:18 huh.. that’s a great tip.. didn’t know that.. Thanks for sharing that!
Dude, you put infinitely more effort into your submission compared to mine! You absolutely deserve the Steam Deck OLED!!!
Thank you, that's very kind of you! Once I had the idea for it, it was really enjoyable to come up with a bunch of silly jokes and collaborate with SKETCH on it. So even if it doesn't win, I'm happy to have made the video. :)
Hats off to you man. Your video made me realize how shit mine was. 100% you deserve to win the contest.
