  • Approach and Landing in Long Beach in an ATI DC-8-62CF (N799AL) after a flight (8C 207) from Sacramento McClellan on 26.05.2012.
    This Combi version offers only 32 Seats in the back of the plane. The front is used for loading palleted cargo.
    It was built in 1968 and delivered to SAS.

    It's a DC-8, it can take a hard landing. Those things are built like tanks!

    Must be cool to fly in a DC-8! pretty much no longer possible to do so.

      @The Boeing Kid Yes, but it is only used for cargo, so therefore not possible to fly on it.

    Fun! Starts at the South End of Bolsa Chica wetlands reserve in Huntington beach, CA, and proceeds past Huntington Harbor, Seal Beach, Long Beach power plants along the San Gabriel River (the Los Angeles/ Orange County Line) and CSULB and the 405 freeway enroute to LGB, Long Beach airport, California.

    Thanks for this...saw my old house, my old school, a lot of the sights from my old hometown. Was a much, much nicer place in the 60's and 70's.
