    Chris McCausland has a real knack for switching between deeply profound and silly ideas fairly quickly and randomly.

    I said it before, I'll say it again, this should be its own show. Just David taking a nice walk with different guests and having a chat. You could have a different subject of conversation for each episode. One week is the history of science with Brian Cox, another the history of religion with Kate Bottley. Seriously, Dave, get on it.

      When they replace David with a GPT-based avatar, Cyber-David can do a walk with Flesh-David and do the history of history.

    I asked chatgpt to write a David joke/rant :
    "Why do we call it a 'virtual reality headset'? Isn't that like calling a cardboard box a 'portal to the cardboard dimension'? I mean, sure, when I put on the headset, I'm in a different world, but it's not like I can pay my bills with virtual money or order virtual pizza. And if I ever find myself in a virtual traffic jam, I swear, I'll demand a virtual refund."

    • @liamwalsh4008
      @liamwalsh4008 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      "Portal to the cardboard dimension"... 🤣
      David's right to be concerned, he might soon be out of a job due to his virtual self!

      “Why is it that every time I attempt to assemble a piece of flat-pack furniture, I’m suddenly convinced that I’ve accidentally stumbled upon some ancient, cryptic ritual? Do we need to summon an Allen wrench-wielding deity just to get a bookshelf to stand upright, or is this just the universe’s way of saying, ‘I told you to hire a professional, you overconfident DIY enthusiast’?”

    I love these chats, David! And I am not an AI fan. I write and am an artist. Both are or will be taken over by AI. The only possible distinction will be that we are flawed. Our mistakes will show as being human made. At least until AI can over ride itself to duplicate our mistakes.

    • @Walperion_Music
      @Walperion_Music 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Beautifully put, same here, an artist and composere here, no idea what to do with the fact that all our favourite creative jobs will be stolen by AI, and all the hysical hard labouring bricklayering ones will be left for humans. We don't need help with creating ictures, wee need physical jobs help.
      While for humanity's happiness it should be the other way round.
      The other day I was plastering and sanding my walls, inhaling dust, thinking "Mr AI, stop making pictures! Go and sand my walls b*tch! Making pictures is something *I* want to do!"

    And a joke in the style of Cary Grant by Chatgpt:

  • @Jahiegel
    @Jahiegel 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    This well illustrates the rapid progress of AI; only a decade ago, David Mitchell scoffed at the idea that he was some sort of god, one who, in renovating his kitchen, would have the capacity to place dragons in the north, and now he’s quite readily able to order dragon wings for a deceased comedian whilst on a nature walk.

    Hahhaaaa - David has my sympathy. Fitness trackers are a hellish burden for the anally retentive! I love these clips, which I gather are taken from a full series called "Outsiders". Does anybody know where I could watch the full series online in Australia, where we are still paying for the petty crimes of our convict ancestors by being denied access to the full range of excellent British comedy. 🙏😔

    ChatGPT doing a David Mitchell joke: "You know what really grinds my gears? The fact that we still use "X" to represent the unknown in algebra. I mean, we live in the age of smartphones, self-driving cars, and the internet, and we're still stuck with a letter from the Roman Empire to solve equations. It's like using a horse and carriage to get to the moon landing. "Houston, we have a problem. Our unknown variable is a Roman numeral. We're going to have to call in Julius Caesar for some math lessons!"
    Not bad. I don't hear "grinds my gears" in Mitchell's voice except maybe ironically.

    Dave needs an escape from the woods to visit Harry’s Farm to be on the next episode and learn to drive Farm machinery. If he passes training with Harry he might get a job on The Archers or on Time Team to dig up real bodies in the woods…but what about poor Victoria? What will she do? The Drama, Suspense, Cliff Hanger endings… Wait till next time when Dave goes for a walk… ; )

    I don't know which episode this is so I don't where I am in this series, So each episode should begin with a brief rundown of whatever drivel you were talking about in the previous episode and end with a snippet of whatever you'll be gabbling on about in the next episode. That keeps the excitement going.
    However, I did find this in depth investigation into zombies and AI gripping. Keep 'em coming.

    This is a bizarre discussion, mostly because they don't seem to know the difference between AI and a robot or digitisation and reality. This is why they tell comedians to make jokes about stuff they know (like their own lives).

    • @Elwaves2925

      I would make fun of a religious person if they were spouting their nonsense. There is no 'just in case' when they worship an alien. Preppers make far more sense and there's a valid history of it. These days though, it tends to be the unhinged ones that do it.
