      I want to build a brushless in the 130mm to 150mm area but it's hard to figure out everything you need to do. I'm mostly having issues figuring out the RX and TX setup as I don't have a 'hobby grade' long range TX yet and I want to make a good choice. Please make sure to include that in your next video :)

      you cant go wrong with a taranis. i use mine with everything. once u have one u dont need much else. check out builds of the rotorx atom for 130mm

    Excellent, some sweet flying and glad you are still featuring custom micros on the channel. Surprising how expensive it is given this is the baseline cost. When you consider an H8 Mini is £8, you can flash its FC and comes with motors, battery and controller etc, I wonder if that would be a good way to cut cost. Just started on my new one as I lost my shark last weekend in a wood. Have a buzzer to add to the new one! You don't seem to have any video problems with running the VTX off the scisky port (edit: just watched the video again, I had muted the music and missed the bit where you mentioned the vreg, sorry!) Looking forward to the build video!

    This seems like a popular build right now. This is a nice clean build. Using the Scisky's regulator to power the VTX is a very good idea. Another guide I was following was saying to use a Pololu boost converter.

    awesome job Andy!, I build something very similar to this a few days ago, but I used the original board from the X4 H107D and the big motors and a 3D Printed Frame, which weights about 7 grams, soon or later I'll put the FX797T on it.😋

    Andy a quick question for you do you think building something like this to practice FPV flying with would be a good idea, as it is so lightweight that any mishaps wont be as costly as a say a bigger craft, i have been thinking of doing something like this and 3d print my own little frame.

  • @bobgrenier2989
    @bobgrenier2989 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love your builds. Any other suggestions for a frame, as that one seems hard to get? Also why a 600mw module? Lot of noise and a lot of heat. Plus my armature radio neighbors would brake down my door. I think I'll go with 200mw's and lock my doors.

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      not sure what u mean by 600mw? u can use any of the picnicquad frames or a 3d printed frame.

      @bobgrenier2989 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was just checking out your parts, and when I was making an order the first FX 758 I came to was 600mw. I now see the 200mw one and ordered that one.

    Awesome vid! I'm totally new to the fpv drone thing I picked up a little cheerson x10 and have been having a blast with it. But would love to get my hands into building something small and affordable like this. Issue being a lack pretty much all technical knowledge on the subject. Would this be a build you would consider advisable for a new comer?

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you can solder then anyone can build it but if you are new to FPV i would suggest starting with the hubsan H107D or something like that and get one of the simulators.

    • @TheCaveZombie
      @TheCaveZombie 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +AndyRC I went ahead and ordered a hubsan as per your suggestion. I also started to order in a few of the pices of this build for later on. Also can you suggest any sims?

    Hi Andy, love your vids, they helped me build my first FPV micro.
    Can I just ask why you didn't use the Quanum Elite AIO setup for the build?
    Also have you used the new airmode on the Scisky yet and if so what do you think of it?

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      the setup I used here is cheaper than the elite and much more powerful

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't use air mode because u have to arm via a switch and that seems to keep the props spinning when fs kicks in

    • @JJFPV
      @JJFPV 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea just noticed it's 200mw rather than 25..unfortunately my soldering skills are worlds apart from yours.

    Hey andy, I have a similar quad that i use a 750mah pack with and have to fly around 65% throttle im thinking i should invest in some 500mah packs. What % throttle were you flying in the video?

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      its about 30 percent to hover but this ones really light. and maybe 40 with the 750mah. make sure you are getting the max PWM value from your motors.

    Hi Andy, could I ask you if you ever had any problems with signal loss with Scisky board? I am running it with 9X with Spektrum module, but I frequently loose signal even at like 2 meters or when directly near the quad and I have no idea why that would happen (red light starts flashing slowly randomly for cca 3-4 seconds and then goes back to normal)

    • @AndyRCchannel

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      im not sure i didnt realize there was a version one. i think the reason it does better with noise is because its got an RF shield on it unlike my fpv hobby one. so if the version 1 has an rf shield also it should be ok, but i dont have one so that just the theory

    Hey, I bought the dark edition motors, that I mounted on picnicquads frame, and I use the hubsan x4 main board, but I got a problem, it fly Like my stock hubsan, i tried graphene lipo, thinking it was cause the c burst was too low on my stock battery but no still flying slow like the 7mm motors.. Do you think it's cause the board can't feed enough energy to the dark edition motor??

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I found a different using the hubsan board what battery and props are u using? and what transmitter? what's the weight of the quad thanks

      @befa-the-fab 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +AndyRC I use the h107l hubsan board with 650 mAh 65c lipo and the stock hubsan props, the stock hubsan transmitter (the one without fake antenna) all at 100% pitch roll and yaw... The weight is 40 grams.. Almost the same as the stock hubsan... Really it seems like it's the same as the stock one but when I look video of dark edition on TH-cam it seems like rocket.. Not mine 😉

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      that is strange because the L version shouldn't be any different. it should be fine at 40 grams perhaps switch the flight controller

    • @befa-the-fab
      @befa-the-fab 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +AndyRC i can't switch controller.. I got a walkera runner with devo 7 who is not the most open protocol.. And the hubsan controller..

      AndyRC I am 58 and bought a Syma X5C-1 quadcopter as a first drone. We have wind almost everyday in SW Minnesota. I fly it inside to try to hone my skills by hovering, landing on targets and turning the drone towards me to get used to flying backwards so to speak.
      I really enjoy your channel. Thanks for the time you put into it so the rest of us can learn from you. I was almost tempted to build one like your first or second 450. Maybe this winter.

      @AndyRCchannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      the great thing about quads, if they are tuned well the wind does not affect them so much unlike a plane which relies on airflow a multirotor does not and can be flown in much higher winds. sounds like u are doing the right thing starting small and inside. happy flying!

      +AndyRC So how does this scisky based quadcopter compare to the XK X100?

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      the scisky cant do 3d/reverse pitch motors so its a different type of flying for both. you can have much faster rates on the scisky though which makes it more like a 250 racer

    • @philliptoone
      @philliptoone 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for your reply. I've already got about a dozen different LOS quadcopters for different purposes but I'm not real comfortable with FPV yet. I would like to find something cheap and robust that I can relax and enjoy flying without worrying about loosing or crashing or running into someone. What would you recommend. Also, I would like some decent FPV goggles and wonder if I should go with a single screen device with a Fresnel lens like the EV800 or something with two screens like the Skyzone V2. I tried building my own Fresnel lens and it makes me dizzy and sick to look at the screen through them.

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      i started with a h107d and stuck a wide angle lens to it :) i hear the skyzone goggles fail a lot i would go with single screen to start with

      most shops in the hobby put their price in dollars. Its easier for the rest of the world to understand. if you are unsure on the price type in to google XXXUSD in XXXGBP and it will tell you the equivalent. cheers

      And do you know of any frames that can be purchased from the uk?

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      dollars is the most common currency in the shops. banggood and hobbyking default ccy is dollars so I think the majority of subscribers will want dollars. I don't know anyone in the UK selling frames however if u go to 3d hubs u can get someone in the UK to print u one from a thingiverse file. I do this often
