50:27 As a fellow Derby High Panther I can confidently say those pronouncing his “sure ron” are incorrect we weren’t friends in high school but i knew who he was and how to say his name correctly.

Could you explain how "nobody is built like Utah" besides "it feels like they are very different". That's a baseless assertion. Oklahoma State has won more games in the last 10 years, 5 years, and 3 years. OSU's record against the top 25 in the last 10 years is 25-21 to Utah's 12-21. OSU is one of 5 teams with a winning record against the top 25 in all FBS (same time period). Utah's 2 conference championships were with 10-4 teams both years. OSU has been in 2 of the last 3 CCG's, but just didn't win. That's the only edge Utah has. OSU has finished in the top 3 (Big 12) 11 out of the last 14 years. That's real stability and continuity. Gundy hasn't had a losing season since 2005 (his first year) and Whittingham had back-to-back losing seasons in 2012-2013. Nobody is built like OSU.

You forgot "nearly scored double digits against South Alabama in 2023." Kidding, but OSU has been largely impressive, even during down or off years. The last ten years largely means nothing today and in speaking about the new Big 12. Both have been impressive with obvious weak spots (OSU being dominated by a rival, Utah not faring super well outside of their conference). Should be fun to see what happens!

@@solidverbal I included the last 10 years to show the consistency. In the last 3 years OSU still has a better overall record, record vs top 25, and has beaten OU 2/3 times.

Coach Prime to me is trying to build the Buffs up quickly as possible. He Inherits a really, really, really bad team they weren’t only losing , they were losing by 20 points or more per game. The plan seems to be working, they won 4 games their first season. Jedd Fisch is the comparison, who went 1-11, 5-7 and 10-2 after taking over a very bad wildcats team. He was praised throughout the rebuild process at Arizona. Deion, is already outperforming him year 1. Vegas thinks Prime outperforms him in year 2. The cupboards were bare when Prime took over, he’s just going the fastest way possible from point A to point B. PS, they do recruit High School players, it’s just the fact that they’ve recruited 8 or so players per class for the first two seasons, but those players grade out and if the number of recruits were higher they would have Top 10 classes. Prime couldn’t take High School players in numbers until he had a base as high school players by and large aren’t starters or contributors their first year at the college level. You are crazy if you don’t think Prime doesn’t turn that spigot on once he has a solid base. Speaking of solid base, I think the Buffs win 7 games and possibly as many as 9 if they stay healthy. I suspect Buffs and Prime turn up prep recruiting this year based on level of success and now having a solid base. If you want the Buffs to be good, I think you get your wish, it’s a challenging November schedule but they’ve addressed the Offensive and Defensive lines. For me, that Defensive line looks formidable and I’m extremely curious to see what Loadholt does with the Offensive Line, no matter what this year they do actually have the size up front to match the competition.
Lastly, Washington and Oregon were the 2 best programs last year in the PAC (and they were both really good) but they begged to be part of the Big10 and although Oregon has been the most dominant team in the PAC the last fifteen years… are they really when your willing to take half to join the big boys table.

@@solidverbal snarky. Love it. As do I love your show, Ty and yourself do a great job. Although, fooling yourself when you say you’re not Colorado Haters… or should I say Sanders haters that may be the real crutch of the issue. You couldn’t even bring yourself to say Shedeur’s name when talking about the best QB’s in the BIG12. Meanwhile, Ty is making Deion and Shedeur (with a couple random ill advised responses via social media posts) sound like the Mean Girls of college football and how can you build a culture on that rock. That said, again…I really do enjoy the show. Happy 4th from across the pond.

Also, Oklahoma leaving the BIG12 is the only team that creates a power vacuum. Texas won the BIG12 in 2023, prior to that it was 2009. Baylor, Kansas State have more title than Texas during this time period. Texas really all it represents is a large media market similar to USC but don’t make it sound like the two best teams left the BIG12 unless your talking about based on this years projections and last years performance… because Texas for the past 15 years… isn’t the one

You tried hard to make a case, but you're arguing against reality. Two Big 12 teams have consistently mattered nationally, have won national championships, have been to the playoff, and have won big bowl games. Baylor and KSU aren't those teams. Viewers know it, recruits know it, other conferences know it. Kansas State and Baylor are nice stories, sometimes. Chris Kleiman has a Pop-Tart Bowl. Dave Aranda is careening off a cliff. You can make the case KSU or even Oklahoma State has won more consistently, but their ceilings are capped. The sport you follow, at the top, is about more than how often you beat Kansas or TCU or Texas Tech. Texas has been mismanaged and hasn't always hired the right guys, but their value and power is ten fold those schools you mentioned because their ceiling (in reality after last year) is clear, and unattainable by the schools left behind in a weaker Big 12. It's ok not to like Texas and feel like they're discussed too much, but don't do so absent obvious realities.

@@solidverbal no sir, I believe you’ve changed the parameters of what constitutes a power vacuum . How many National Championships has Oregon won?
Ratings, it is to laugh. The CU/CSU game that ended at 2am eastern had significantly hirer ratings than Oregon and Washington regular season match up and their PAC12 Championship game. Colorado has a larger endowment than Oregon… I could go on but you were making it sound as Oregon was the most dominant program in the PAC12, of which I would agree for the past fifteen years but based on your new parameters not so much. Really, win your conference if your talking about a power vacuum being created… and that’s what Oregon has done for the better part of the past 15 years…. Which would apply for Baylor for the past 15 has won more BIG12 Championships than Texas. PS. Baylor has a larger endowment than Texas. The reality is Texas is a massive University in the Capital of Texas and draws more viewers. Oregon, is supported by Nike a massive advertiser not only in sports but FOX and ESPN/ABC umbrella of properties and they know which side their bread is buttered. Texas last National Chanmpionship was 2005, prior to that 1970. For the love of God, SMU has one less National Championship, how often did people talk about them. As noted… Oregon has never won a National Championship. So… No. either come up with a clear definition of what defines your power vacuum or stop moving the goal posts. I believe you are missing… reality. I could go on with a list of other reasons why Texas gets the benefit of the doubt.. Oregon is solely advertising $s… paid out by cough, cough child labor… well done. Players pick teams for reasons other than you’ve listed. Although, I do love The Solid Verbal, Ty and yourself sound smug about BIG10 and SEC as you’re locked into the largest media contracts. It’s this Mindset that our conferences are better ultimately will not benefit college football.

@@solidverbal you're definitely not remembering the last 20 years very well, Texas DEFINITELY HAS NOT BEEN the 2nd best team in the Big XII if you're looking at actual wins and losses

I think more teams in the Big 12 are “built like Utah” than there were in the PAC 12. Utah will be looking in the mirror a bit more now.

Bold prediction: Wazzu will win the Pac 2 championship. As a long time Coug, I wouldn't want them in the playoff as a token invite. Embarrassing. I would love to see WSU and OSU in a 32 team Big 12, with it's own playoff, even if it's destined to be the Who'sYourDaddy? Conference).

@@solidverbal Matt did great job hiring Texas highs school football coaches and leveraging to find and secure talent. Think people are sleeping on Baylor’s offense this year. Sadly, the Defense is in dire straits
