I have heard someone say. a female that the reason she was trying to get to be a doctor was her parents wanted her to. If she followed what her parents wanted her to do then she would have spent years on something she would not want to do ( college years/ university years: 3 years, 4 years). dont know what happened to her.

At 6:35 i really found it useful that the same piece of evidence can be interpretated differently. I would find additional evidence to support my previous evidence. Example: My theory is that the information in this exact book i got in my hand was used back in the romans time. My evidence is multiple paitings including a book with the same traits as the book i got in my hand. Do i have any evidence that it was used? Since i could not find any pictures/ photos from that time (it was not invented yet). I did find old documents with the infomation matching the book and the documents also have timestamps indicating it's from the roman time. The documents were found inside buildings in rome and it's signed by someone. The timestamps are matching the timestamps in the book i got in my hands. I did background research on the person who signed these old documents.I did not find information about who it was, but i found information about the belongings this person had ( example: clothes) when the person was found. I found out that analyzing those belongins i could more accurately compare it to the images we had in our time about how the belongins people had in roman time. Bingo! I found out those belongings are very close, identical to that of a teacher. Conclusion: My evidence shows That the book is from roman time, and it is showed by multiple paintings from (example: The walls in Rome). The book from the paintings shows identical traits matching the book i am holding now. This book includes timestamps that are also used on these old documents that were found in some buildings in Rome. The documents that included the same timestamps and information as the the ones in the book did belong to a teacher. I would then compare what teachers did with books from our time to what teachers could had done from roman time.
I dont know if it's just me who cant stand videos that gives bunch of different examples in between that gets us distracted from the main topic. Just get to the point.
I wonder if you should add 'philosopher' as well. because any interpretation of the evidence, or justification for a theory is grounded on some premises or assumptions about what you are arguing about, in addition, what defines as evidence, and how much weight should certain evidences hold, etc, are all philosophical discussions. Philosophers would discuss and debate the methodologies of coming to a particular conclusion as well as the 'nature' of a particular thing.
No, it`s not. It`s a theory. A theory is a hypothesis that is confirmed by other people who have access to the same evidence or raw material (or observational opportunities if you will), and reach through their own work the same conclusions. In history it`s exactly the same, although generally the word theory is used a bit more loosely. I`ve seen it used as both theory and hypothesis, but generally it`s theory. Remember, there`s a difference between the so-called natural sciences and the historical science, but the critique of the sources used is paramount in both.
@@aberforth8297 A hypothesis is an educated guess. A theory is a belief based on evidence, but not confirmed by evidence. Facts are events confirmed by evidence. History is a series of events confirmed by factual evidence.

Thinking like a historian is easy, decide what era you want to talk or write about, Then wiki a few basic facts and write pages about what you think occurred, how you think things must have happened , based on the mindset of a country a people who cant comprehend anything beyond 500 years ago, so write or talk or create utube vids chatting nonsense . Thats an American historian in a nutshell ,
So, you are saying historians claim but never know if what they belief is actually true? I don't know how I feel about this! XYZ happened is at least factually proofable! o.O'
Yet they are only "proven" as far as we know. A theory is not "true" in the sense that it`s the Great Final Answer To How Things Are. That`s a hilariously arrogant viewpoint. It`s only "true" so long as evidence supports it. It`s the same with theories in history.
A hypothesis is an educated guess. A theory is a belief based on evidence, but not confirmed by evidence. Facts are events confirmed by evidence. History is a series of events confirmed by factual evidence.
