  • I decided to DIY this hobby hut, but my house has a large balcony, but there is one room less and there is no room that can be used for hobbies. My hobby is a collection of plants such as Staghorn ferns and Tillandsia, and my wife's hobby is making various accessories using a sewing machine.
When watering plants, I take them out of the room to the balcony each time and return them to the room when the water runs out, but there is no place to hook them and if they are placed on the balcony, they will be mischievous by dogs, which is a problem.
My wife always works at the dining table, but I've always said that I want a sewing room because I'm worried that I have to clean up everything during the production when I'm interrupted due to rice time.
So I came up with a hut that could solve the problems of the two people at once. I had a vague dream of DIY a hut from long ago, and it was quick to put it into practice after I came up with it, but the problem was the budget. I looked at various internet and magazines, but I couldn't find a cool hut that I couldn't build for 50,000 yen, so I decided to design it myself.
The most important thing to pay attention to is that our house is an open living room and the hut is always visible, so we designed the exterior so that it fits in with the atmosphere of the room.
In particular, the side of the hut leading from the living room was intentionally made a white wall so that it would be integrated with the living room wall, and the front wall was armored so that it would look cool when decorated with cork-attached Staghorn ferns.
Since the armor is attached directly to the framework without creating a base to cut costs, the inside of the hut is full of gaps and a lot of wind can pass through, but since plants may be managed inside the hut, there is no problem with the gaps at home. is.
To be precise, there are recycled wood, so if you buy all of them, it will cost about 60,000 yen, but isn't it still cheap? There are some places that look cheap, but my wife was pleased because I was able to achieve the original goals of the two of them.
If you are going to DIY the hut or have a genuine question, please feel free to comment in the comment section.
I hope this production diary will be helpful to anyone.
