The portraits of your daughter look like a nice success! (PS: Thanks for showing the operation of your Jobo processor)

Very insightful to see your process... and even the mistakes too!

Yeah, you learn from mistakes more than you do from anything else. Its good to slow down and remember all the mistakes one made, but still shooting large format portraits of kids always is a challenge.

    Really enjoying your videos Nico.
I've been considering large format for portraits and landscapes and I've been thinking about the Intrepid Camera, looking at this video where you've taken pictures of your wife and children I was wondering how difficult it will be to learn portraiture on a 4x5 coming from zero experience?
Please keep the informative videos coming, it's rather difficult finding basic information like exposed film storage, changing film in the field, lens focal length etc when you're so new to this.
    Thank You

      Thanks!
As for taking portraits with 4x5 at the beggining I recommend using 0 movements. So you just focus at the eye and stop the lens down a few stops. As you might know the bigger the format the less depth of field you have.
The videos will keep coming and I have big plans for the channel, so soon you will see more of what you just said...

I saw a guy at the Arc de Triomphe in Barcelona (or however the Spanish version is spelled), and he was there with some very old camera, a sign that said "100 year old camera" and was taking photos of people for 10 Euros. You ever hear of this guy and know what he's shooting? I couldn't stop but I came back the next day to get a photo taken but he wasn't there.

+Castmate Yeah, they have cameras that shoot paper and then shoot the negative and make a positive. Here they called them Camara Minutera and out of here Afghan box. Google it and Im sure you will find some videos and information. Its an old tradition.

Great videos ! Any suggestion for getting into 4x5 , the Graflex Crown Graphic seems to have reasonable price on ebay

    • @NicosPhotographyShow
      @NicosPhotographyShow  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I highly recommend the Graflex cameras as it was my first 4x5. They are priced ok and are strong cameras too. I made a video a few weeks back about why I jumped to large format with more insight of why.
