Thanks for sharing your experience! Just curious, how are you keeping your under hood that clean? 🤔🙂 If possible then would you please share your experience on that as well?
I sometimes use fresh engine oil, put some on a workshop paper towel to wipe every surface under the hood to keep them looking fresh and also to prevent rust on metal components, bolts and screws.
I can't remember, maybe at 75k for first transmission fluid change. But I'd probably change at least once every 50k since now I found it's very easy to do so.
also, have you replace the coolant? there are 3 coolant tanks and coolant lasts about 5 years. i know it is not the the manual, but if you look at all the electric cars. they all need to be replaced. the honda prologue shows coolant needs to be replaced 5 years or 100k miles.
Yes I usually bring car to Honda for brake fluid and coolant flush. And as you said there are massive amounts of coolants in multiple locations on this car, I wouldn't be taking on the task myself.
Indeed that would help, I do that with oil change, but with transmission fluid it seems okay based on how easy it went in when I did it, there are large gaps at the filler port for air to balance out.
Good video. I guess there is no way to accurately measure the oil. Your method of measuring the third bottle should be close enough but transmissions shouldn't be over or under filled. I will attempt a drain and fill.
Hi, I'm about to change the transmission oil, can you tell us how much torque should be set on the socket wrench when tightening up the transmission Drain Plug? Thanks
Great job!
Wow this was a wonderful explanation, thank you!! ❤
The drive up ramps sell at Harbor Freight. 45.00 for the set

@@TheGizmoGarage Thanks a lot for responding and considering my request!
you mentioned "oil drain bolt torque = 30 Newton - meters" @8:30 its 30lb ft, not N m.
Thank you for catching my mistake
Does the manual call for transmission fluid change at 35k?

Your "Maintenance Minder" i.e. the car's computer, should tell you when it is due.

should open the overflow when you filling your fluid to avoid overfill.

Just to confirm, you refilled the transmission while the car was still up on the ramps?
yeah but next refill I will drain off the ramp to get the last bit of fluid drained.
What size of crush washer do you need?

there isn't but the bottle indicator is close enough, or you can invest in a measuring cup amzn.to/48yf6UO
nice job - I paid the dealer $110 to do mine at 35k miles and will probably do it myself next go round.
Thank you you just save me $700 from Honda dealership
Why would you not replace the filter aswell it defeats the entire purpose of changing the oil
This is transmission fluid. No filter to change following Honda recommendation. Motor oil absolutely yes change filter every oil change.
@@TheGizmoGarage yes the transmission has a strainer

36ft-lb or 49nm
