I've owned a Chevy Cruze LTZ RS for over a year now. Let me just say, I LOVE this car. The reviewer here kept saying "needs a refresh, and basic" however from what I've seen the Cruze is a industry leader. Trust me, you'll love this car.
I have this car and love it. The mpg is awesome on the freeway. Depending on hills and speed, I usually get upper 30s to low 40s mpg. It's a great ride too.
Bought a 2014 Cruze as my first brand new car. Test drive went very well. The day I left the dealership with my Cruze, it started having issues. After multiple return trips to deal with issues that a brand new car should not have (brakes, heating system, engine, turbo, radiator, stalling, and the dreaded ''burning rubber smell'' that plagues many Cruzes), 8 months and 9000 km (4000 miles) later I had enough. GM would not take the car back as a ''good-will gesture'' or in a regular trade-in with negative equity. 8 months, my car lost 60+% of it's value. Got a decent deal with another brand. GM will never get another dime from me again. Unfortunately, Canadian Consumers have no lemon laws like the U.S.
I Sold my 07 Volvo S60 R 2.5L Turbo AWD 300HP. and buy 2015 Cruze LT RS 1.4L Turbo138HP I love a lot this baby so nice and very economical car and good looking too.
That steering wheel is out of the LS with cruise control in the 15. 14 has the leather wheel you speak of only found in 2LT and up now. Surprised they have lit vanity mirrors where that was the LTZ only option prior.
I got my 2015 Cruze back in early March and I like it. I like the way that the headlights come on automatically if you have it set to auto. I like the backup camera on it.
i drove a 2001 Chevrolet cavalier before then I totaled it. The color of mine is Autumn Bronze metallic. It had only 17 mi on it when we got it. I think it gets better gas mileage than that cavalier that I had.
I'm 6' 175 lbs, but I have big legs, and they don't fit well, hard to get in and out, and when I am on the highway using cruise control, it's uncomfortable, my right leg rests on the heat nob/centre console. It's OK, but not ideal. I could use some more leg room to the right, and I'd like the steering wheel to move up more just for getting in the car, with the seat all the way down, and the wheel all the way up, getting in and out is kind of tight. But change the oil/filter often with full synthetic, occasionally fill the tank with Shell P.E.A containing ethanol free fuel to keep it clean (the whole reason for their oil spec is to help stop pre-ignition from turbo compression anyways, so higher octane fuel doesn't hurt, I'm just not throwing money away on it regularly, if they have ACTUALLY solved the problem and I can run regular fuel for $.30/L cheaper. Only a couple tanks a season, and only shell because I know they are ethanol free and contain the same nitrogen based detergents as products like gumout, keep it clean... also the entire valve cover has been officially recalled due to the PCV valve that is moulded into it failing, so if you've had to fix it already, or need to, you have up to 200, 000km whatever that is in miles to get it done for free... I'd buy a blue tooth diagnostic tool as well, check for any error codes or pressure leaks, there is a GREAT bluetooth OBDII scan tool that uses an app on your smart phone, and it's as good as like a $500 pro tool for diagnostics)... Also no Transmission dipstick, due to their "life time transmission fluid" idea, which still isn't lifetime at all, change it. They just don't want people to service their vehicles. . . and rear drum brakes, argh. Why, it's a 2015. Brake fade is terrible in this car. Just try going fast and stopping hard twice, and feel the difference, hell the rotors will warp after 3 hard pulls on the brakes, could use some better heat dissipation for more reliable breaking. I know it's not a race car, but their competitors have done far better in the breaking setups. I'd say 4 wheel disks, better intake manifold, better valve cover, and a replaceable PCV valve with transmission dip stick would solve most of my major issues as an owner of one of these... Mine has been reliable as hell though... Just ignore their like 10 000mi (15000km) oil change recommendations, and do it every 3000mi/5000kms, and the engine/turbo will thank you... especially the turbo. It's an ok car, but they cut a lot of corners, even in the LTZ package, reminds me a bit of a more well balanced (I mean suspension/weight dist/control) 2005/6 Dodge neon with less leg room for everyone, but far better handling, I'd still take the neon's Manual 5spd over this super sluggish 6 spd disaster though. And to be fair it handles worse than my old 1991 Mazda MX-6 GT turbo did. Less fun to drive to. It's a really "MEH" car. But I do own one, and will keep it for a while, I only have 40 000kms on it, waiting to see what goes first, have already notices some plastic tubing in the vacuum system look rough just from age, and because they used cheap plastic tubing instead of anything resembling good tubing, and although it's not direct injection, a catch can would be a nice addition.... not a fan of the fuel pump either, lot's of just annoying shit if you don't like spending money, and want to service your own vehicle.... But it is a Chevy, parts are plentiful and cheap, and their is lots of room to work, lol, love they switched to reverse torques too, just a dick move I think. Also the wheel studs are SHIT. Mine was over torqued by maybe 5ft/lbs over at the dealer, and when I checked the torque on the lugs, the one kept tightening at 100 ft/lbs (AKA SPEC) so I pulled the wheel of and sure enough, the stud was stretched out, and made of some soft galvanized BS... Luckily I had a few new studs from my old 2005 Blazer that's long gone, a bit shorter than the ones on the cruise, but a far stronger steel, it fit in fine, and lot's of threads for the lugs, torqued to spec and done. But when I switch to winter tires this year, all those shit studs are being replaced. If they are stretching/cracking from 5ft/lbs of extra force, then they are already on their limits, and lateral torque can only cause more studs to stretch and then break when you torque to spec... I could go on with their screen/software as well, but leave that for another day. It's meant for fuel economy and it's not a race car, but they cut a lot of corners their competition did not... It does have a triptronic shifting option, it helps with the down shift response, only because you can down shift 1 second before you need the power, but you shouldn't have to preemptively downshift the transmission for it to work slightly better. And when you price out the money they saved on the corners they cut, wer're talking $200 in savings, probably more like a $10 savings at the manufacturing scale. and with a child seat, you can't put the seats back all the way, even with it mounted in the middle seat. And my GOD when you have 4 passengers in it, it becomes a slug, and the suspension turns to mush.
Excellent review !!! It is a good looking car . I would like to see twin round headlights like on the Geo and both rear taillights light up when you hit the brake. On the inside , it needs and oil pressure gauge and volts . I don't need a digital speedo or compass. Under the hood it need more power , like 150hp nonturbo , 175hp Turbo and where the SS ??? It could have the 2.0 Turbo good for 260 hp. The My Link system is good and the My Sync just sucks. Outside it needs an exhaust tip on upper level models , optional on lower ones. I agree the small buttons on the bottoms of the touchscreen are bad and you may need to stop the car to use them.
I got one of these as a rental while my Lexus was at a body shop (someone hit and ran my car) this cars engine was really loud and was very hard to get up to speed (almost had to floor it to get to 70-80 mph, transmission also felt really weak like it was slipping when taking off hard. I realize it's a cheap car but my girlfriend bought a new Corolla and engine/transmission wise feels much better built.
My 2014 is quiet, cabin is extra sound insulated, with thick window glass, it had fast pickup with the turbo, it has a paddle shift 6 sp. automatic, I don't know is your take is honest but my car is nothing like what you describe. I would not have any Japanese car. The Cruze has a deserved good reputation worldwide, especially in China.
It did 60 in over 3 seconds more than my car so it felt slow to me, it was definately louder inside than my car, and not nearly as smooth shifting. The one I got still used a key, which I thought most cars got rid of around 07. I realize Lexus and Toyota are at the top of reliability by jd power and consumer reports but I thought this would be a lot better after the bailout I had heard good things :/
This was a refresh because in 2016 it's going to be an all new chevy cruze. Every car company does this they release a refreshed on either 3,2, or 1 year(s) before the new ones are on the market
Had this car as a rental since August 31st until later this week. It's a decent car. Enterprise gave me a bright red Chevy Cruze which I didn't really care for the color, and plus other people told me it was too bright, idk why Chevy made this car in that color, it's not that popular. But this car reminds me of a baby Mercedes Benz (especially the C-Class) by the location of the LED daytime running lights, the headlights and tail lights lol, so I call it a "Baby Benz" & I must have the Base LT model, cause my LT model doesn't have remote start or backup camera like this LT model has in the video.
Thanks for sharing .. i just bought one 2015 used and was just wondering about that noise of the engine like the clicking is that just the engine normal ... someone says it shouldnt sound like that .. so now im wondering since i heard this video makes the same sound .. ~
i like the 2015-2016 Chevy & malibu but which would you recommend? Like for light traveling & is economical on gas the best, & does any of them have a feature backup rearview camera?
QUESTION FOR ANYBODY! Between the 2lt and the lt, which would you recommend? I understand there are some differences, but are they significant or does it all come down to preference? Thanks!
I'm getting my first car I'm a single mom and have a five year old son. I'm interested and getting the cruze or the Malibu. which one would you recommend for a decent size family car?
We got a 2011 cruze in 2014 and had it since then. We have 3 cruzes. They are amazing. Not many issues but it depends on how you drive and take care of your car. My dad totaled his cruze and walked away with no scratches
Absolutely. Any car depends on regular maintenance. I put 215 k miles on a cavalier sport, then passed it on to my son. After 100k, you have tune up, serpentine belt change, brake job, and other issues , on most any car. I think my Cruze will do better than the 2002 Cavalier in reliability. It is quite well mannered and quiet, smooth and quick.
To be honest, the new styling doesn't do it any justice. It's pretty much a joke compared to the original. There are better ways to incorporate LED's than ruining a good looking front end. It's really the tech upgrades and perks that set it apart from the original. I'd love the new LTZ way more than the last gen. Then again I own an LS with auto as the option lol. It's still a great car with loads of basic features that many competitors offer as options. edit: BTW whoever edited this video sucks at editing. It's like saying... here let me show you where I fucked up and me trying to correct it.
ishowyouapple Cruze!!!!!!! My cousin has a Volkswagen and she has sworn to never buy another one. The maintenance for its numerous issues is very expensive to correct.
I like this Facelifted Cruze, unfortunatly it didn't arrived in Mexico for the 2015 model due to the fact that the Mexican Cruze comes from South Korea and i don't like the facelift (As well the interior change) that the GM Korea made for the car. I hope that later yhis version. it arrives in Mexico almost as a 2016 model.
So this face-lift is not available in Mexico? the 2015 model stays the same as the 2014 or what? I ask because I was thinking of getting this model here...
Exactly, if you go to Chevrolet Mexico website and see the Cruze, the model is not the same from the video. This is because the Mexican Cruze is imported from South Korea and not from the USA
Now, the facelift has arrived to Mexico, but they called it the 2016 so, the original 2016 that has been re designed may not be touching the Azteca floor :(
+Heartagram so what youre saying is small displacement motors are garbage? Almost all "fuel economy" cars are small motors. On another level, look at the nissan gtr. 3.8l motor and that bitch is bad. stop living in the past where cubic inches are everything.
yamaha450man A 1.4L 4 cyclinder in a Chevy Cruze can not be compared with the monster 3.8L V6 in the GTR you fucking moron LOL. I argue that a bigger engine would last longer. For instance, my 5.3L V8 Vortec engine in my GMC Sierra.
Youre pretty childish. Cussing me while calling me names? Obviously the cruzes' motor is no comparison to a gtr. But, you didn't get my point. I also have a silverado with a 5.3l. Great trucks, no doubt. But as far as motor engineers have came over the last 10 years with small cubic inch motors' reliability, small motors in economy cars will last a while now. On the other hand, the motors in our trucks will last longer. But, to say it "wont last" is wrong. Granted, it wont last as long as chevys 5.3
+Heartagram what kind of loser worries about retarded shit like cars, grow up, become a surgeon, do something that actually matters, hey, chemistry is pretty easy, maybe even algebra, you'll do good in those
I've owned a Chevy Cruze LTZ RS for over a year now. Let me just say, I LOVE this car. The reviewer here kept saying "needs a refresh, and basic" however from what I've seen the Cruze is a industry leader.
Trust me, you'll love this car.
I'm 6' 4" and I fit perfect in the car
wilson pabon same mane
Bought mine brand new no miles. And im happy with it. Dont give a fuck what anyone thinks about it.
What trim and how is it
+Steven Gauna Nobody gives a fuck about your new car and how happy you are with it, so don't brag about it.
+ooOmegaSupremeoo no one is bragging. how the fuck am I bragging when I have a fuckin monthly car payment that goes with moron.
+Andres Santana 2lt black and light brown leather seats. sun roof and a lot of other extras.
+Miguel Guerrero I also bought the extended warranty.
Still better than a Ford Focus.
how so?
I have this car and love it. The mpg is awesome on the freeway. Depending on hills and speed, I usually get upper 30s to low 40s mpg. It's a great ride too.
If you are going to do multiple takes. Take out the bad ones when editing.
This is the car i have. Only mine is a 2014 1 LT. i LOVE IT!
The 2015 Mazda3 BLOWS IT AWAY. Specially the interior. 2.5 gas engin .ZOOM ZOOM performance.
Ray The Mazda probably has less features and costs more.

I've experienced, similar issues
I had one it was red i was tired of the check brakes light was on the brakes were fine
I Sold my 07 Volvo S60 R 2.5L Turbo AWD 300HP. and buy 2015 Cruze LT RS 1.4L Turbo138HP I love a lot this baby so nice and very economical car and good looking too.
Thanks Cameron! Plan on buying one later this year and your review cover everything that I need to know.
Had a 2013 as a rental last year and it was the 2LT model with leather and a sunroof, and it was a nice car. (:
this dude LITERALLY word for word just read the cars info off of edmunds website lmao. i bet he failed every essay he had to write in highschool
That steering wheel is out of the LS with cruise control in the 15. 14 has the leather wheel you speak of only found in 2LT and up now. Surprised they have lit vanity mirrors where that was the LTZ only option prior.
Camerons Car Reviews, please do startup & review 2014/2015 Chevrolet Cruze Turbodiesel. Thanx!

Beatlesbec what trim
it's just the LT
Still has lots of features right
well, it has the backup camera, power locks, power windows, remote start, automatic headlights

Have it and it saves me money from gas!! Along as a car is maintained, it can last longer.
I am thinking about buying a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze. Do you still recommend
sounds like a bunch of bolts flying around inside that engine
i have the 2014 model and the frot end i find is way better looking than the 2015

What is the price of the 2015 model in 2020? Plz tell me bro
@@tomzidahmed3300 i´m from Brasil, can´t help you....
The 6 cylinder is better. I've tested both. Better response and overal feel
Same outside color but all dark interior haha love this car

Chevrolet is well tried, of course not so many improvements that we would like. The good news is that the car has not lost its charm.

Cameron Who Will Win Between A Chevrolet Cruze Or Bugatti Veyron LOL
Thanks for sharing .. i just bought one 2015 used and was just wondering about that noise of the engine like the clicking is that just the engine normal ... someone says it shouldnt sound like that .. so now im wondering since i heard this video makes the same sound .. ~
I'm.wondering the same thing
me as well let me know asap!!
Its an ECOtec engine all Cruzes have that ticking noise. If its loud check your purge valve those are notorious for going bad.
Very nice car and good review. Thanks.
i like the 2015-2016 Chevy & malibu but which would you recommend? Like for light traveling & is economical on gas the best, & does any of them have a feature backup rearview camera?
QUESTION FOR ANYBODY! Between the 2lt and the lt, which would you recommend? I understand there are some differences, but are they significant or does it all come down to preference? Thanks!
Little bit confining? What do you normally drive, a Tahoe?
I Know I’m Like 5 years Late But Could Anybody Tell Me What Model of The Cruze Goes Up to 220 mph.
How much would an estimate for this car be, if anyone purchased one. How much was it
Get used to high revs until the turbo lags
Is that engine sound normal?
What's your reason for 'revving' it up?
Why is the malfunction indicator light on right before you start the car?
Because he used push start it needs the key to drive that's all it is letting you know the key isn't in the ignition
I'm getting my first car I'm a single mom and have a five year old son. I'm interested and getting the cruze or the Malibu. which one would you recommend for a decent size family car?
Get dart or a focus not this unreliable korean crap.
+beautiful2 Yes, get a Dodge Dart, an excellent car from one of the most consistently, laughably unreliable makers. Fuck sake.
I just saw a used 2015 Cruze LTZ I got to test drive it to I really like it, it has everything I'm looking for. +Orssidia
We got a 2011 cruze in 2014 and had it since then. We have 3 cruzes. They are amazing. Not many issues but it depends on how you drive and take care of your car. My dad totaled his cruze and walked away with no scratches
how reliable are this? can you put 200,000 miles on them?
No
Lance Taylor Eh. 2016 model...sure...this one is still not that reliable
Depends on how you drive and treat your car
Turbo will let go at around 100k miles
Most reviews are positive but Scotty Kilmer says it's like top 3 worst American car? Who's wrong here?
To be honest, the new styling doesn't do it any justice. It's pretty much a joke compared to the original. There are better ways to incorporate LED's than ruining a good looking front end. Hless421 Gen 1 was hideous either way ugly ugly ugly.
What’s that clicking
So it's the same car since 2010 with just an updated grill and relocated door lock switches
Chevy Cruze or a VW Jetta?
ishowyouapple Cruze!!!!!!! My cousin has a Volkswagen and she has sworn to never buy another one. The maintenance for its numerous issues is very expensive to correct.
German cars suck ass. Keep it American
Jetta all the way
+GTRR35 Nismo Jettas are absolutely garbage
cruze vw have lots of issues
6:02 uh and Hyundai Elantra?
Could you do the 2015 Cadillac SRX?
It is not a oil temp its water temp get it right
very nice way better thin my 2015 ford Taurus
هلا والله معكم شايب الديمن 👴
No leg room at back seats :( its a big No No !
I like this Facelifted Cruze, unfortunatly it didn't arrived in Mexico for the 2015 model due to the fact that the Mexican Cruze comes from South Korea and i don't like the facelift (As well the interior change) that the GM Korea made for the car. Exactly, if you go to Chevrolet Mexico website and see the Cruze, the model is not the same from the video. This is because the Mexican Cruze is imported from South Korea and not from the USA
Now, the facelift has arrived to Mexico, but they called it the 2016 so, the original 2016 that has been re designed may not be touching the Azteca floor :(
Actually thats the 2016 limited just like in the US. The redesigned Cruze will arrive around March because it will also be assembled in Mexico
Maybe
"Competitorive"
SadDadDancer at least I’m gooder at English than he’s
Its worth more than the Cruze. Looks....ugh Cruse is a bore. Mazda=NO CVT. Plus good economy. Auto headlights ... Sat.radio,.17in. wheels. [184hp.]
What the hell are you reving the engine for..serves no purpose.
1.4L isnt it slow?
it is turbo at least
It's not fast but it's light weight 140 hp plenty to get it moving as fast as you need it to
it looks more of an old car for it to be a "2015" car.
If yu reccomend ppl to go witt a maza thn y tha fuk do a review on a chevy cruze ..wtf !!!
Because some people want to see these cars the videos aren't just for him they are for helpful use
The
A 1.4l engine.. Lmfao. That shit won't last.
+Heartagram what kind of loser worries about retarded shit like cars, grow up, become a surgeon, do something that actually matters, hey, chemistry is pretty easy, maybe even algebra, you'll do good in those
The cruze was terrible uncomfortable for long rides
very nice way better thin my 2015 ford Taurus
