Hi sha, can I ask a question? I found the salary made for most of the designers is not quite high compares some other jobs. I can’t figure out it because I think the whole create stuff is the most original and unique work which cannot be copied. But why the salary for most related designer work is not highly paid. I just can’t figure it out.

Hi Sha, loved the video. I do have a question about your web design process. How do you design the website, is it before the client has the content or after? and if before do you do competitor analysis, or keyword analysis and see what content they should develop and give them recommendations or is this a copy writer's job? I hope this makes sense.
Hi Klaudia, thank you for the comment! It’s really dependent on if the client already has the content, most times they do so I will use that content in the design. But sometimes they don’t so I will use stock imagery from sites like pexels or other product websites so they can get a feel for how it will look, as well as Lorem ipsum for placeholder text (or text I make up that I think fits). I do competitor analysis to see what features, apps, integrations are most used in the industry and then suggest the ones that make sense to my clients. In terms of keywords and SEO I don’t offer this as a default service and I don’t do copywriting so what I usually do is give them advice to pass onto their copywriters for descriptions and blog posts etc, as well as optimise the headings and placement of text so it’s optimised for google. You could totally offer this as a service that’s built in with your web design package though!

Hi sha, thanks for your video! would you please share us a video on how do you design the website on Shopify? You know, I work for a company who use Shopify as the platform to build our official website and we bought the theme on Shopify to edite our website pages by our own since there are a lot of functions we can use directly. I am just curious that the Shopify website design you mentioned in your video is you as the designer and developer to create the themes for shopify so the others could buy this, or you just help your customers to edit their theme in Shopify which they have bought already? Like create the pictures and adding contents as well as some tools?
Hi! Thank you for your comment! I offer two services, a theme customisation and a custom theme. With theme customisation I still do a design mock-up beforehand and make the design on brand to my clients business as I can use code to change the way certain things look on the theme itself so it looks more custom. The custom website is building a theme from scratch that the client can then edit themselves afterwards. I hope that answers your question!
