You both made the right choice. The Nimbus 25 is a great easy day shoe. It may be the most comfortable shoe I have ever run in. I am a heavy runner (over 220) and the More 4 crushes too much. I can feel my foot go all the way to the ground. That puts a lot of stress on my feet for a recovery shoe. The Nimbus is soft without crushing down so far. It is an easy choice for me.
Funny, this just popped up on my feed as I am literally sitting with the More V4 and the Asics 25 right in front of me! I took each pair out today to test (I'm not a runner) and it was/is very close.. This review or comparison mirrors my exact feelings...True story, i was switching back and forth in my apartment and had to go downstairs to do something close by and without looking, I tried to remember which pair I had on last and yup, the More V4 on my left foot and the Asics on my right foot! I'm keeping both pair so I don't have to choose either! Great Battle of the Cush!
I’ve had 4 pairs of nb fresh foam more x v4,s and all 4 pairs went back because of a design flaw…….the toe box….when you go forward there’s a crease that digs into your big toe left in one pair and right in 3 pairs….it’s the strip that goes around the toe box that causes the crease! So I bought the asics gel nimbus 25 and there perfect and I find them softer than the v4,s.
I just received the Nimbus 25 after being somewhat let down by the Invincible Run 3 (which is still good but with more issues and less of that fun bouncy ride IR2 has). I'm a big fan of More v4 and love max-cushioned shoes in general. I resisted the hype around the Nimbus 25 for a good while but finally relented and I'm glad I did. It really is a great max-cushioned shoes for easy, recovery, slow and long. And this is a shoe that I'd be willing to take on long runs, unlike the IR2, IR3, More v4, and SC Trainer due to their weights. The Nimbus 25 also weighs around the same but feels and rides lighter and is just so comfortable. I like all my max-cushioned shoes but Nimbus 25 is now my number one, followed by More v4, IR2, SC Trainer, and IR3 in that order. I don't put the Prime X Strung in this category although it is a super stack shoe. It's just not intended for the same purpose. ASICS nailed it with the Nimbus 25 and I guess the hype is justified. I haven't tried every shoe out there like these reviewers do, but I've tried many and have quite a collection and I can honestly say that the Nimbus 25 is the most comfortable shoe I've ever put on my feet.
Thank you so much for another great video. I've been trying out so many brands over the past few years, and I finally settled down with NB. I use their shoes for everything, from daily training to tempo runs to trail run. I even wear them when walking around the city, going shopping, and picking up my kids from school. I'm all about NB!
Walking around New York City for hours on end is a thing that you do (I'm not from New York (or America) but I made it there a few weeks ago and indeed walked around for hours on end). I was in a worn-out Kayano 30: it wasn't too bad, probably not quite at the level of these two though for cushion (but close). Lots of cushion is what you need.
Get over it! The nimbus is king/ queen.. I tried both shoes and the nimbus is best. I’m not proud of this , but I’m 275 lbs right now. The nimbus holds up and fits the best for me. Wider foot here but not wide enough to buy 2E or 4 E. The foam on the ASICS has rebound where needed. I’m 150 miles in and still the shoe is like new.
I’m so excited for this shoe, specifically because it falls into the max cush category now. The more v4 & SC trainer we’re both shoes I wanted, but for whatever reason new balance just doesn’t fit my foot shape, and I rarely have that issue with asics. So I’m jazzed to try a proper max shoe now.
I tried both shoes at a local store today. I’m mainly a rapid walker, and loved the Nimbus 24. IMO, the Nimbus 25 is better than both it’s predecessor and the NB More V4. It just fits my foot better, doesn’t rub my ankles, and the cushy feeling was the best I’ve felt. Not sure I like the outsole. Seems skimpy. That’s my only negative. Waiting for more reviews on the grip and durability.
@@formulaic78 you have issues with the low drop and soft midsole while walking in the v4? I had some knee pain after a few days so saving them just for running now
@@MrMars121I meant I wear running shoes for walking. Have only tried V4 in shop. I have Altra escalantes currently which are zero drop and quite cushioned, and kayano 28s which are also quite cushioned but neither on the level of more 4's or 1080v13s.
It all depends upon the user. Personally I prefer ASICS, always have, however my daughter & mrs prefer NB . Try them both and feel which suits your feet and gait. There's a nats wing between these shoes, both are very very good running shoes 👍👍
Wow! This comparison is what I've been waiting for!! Thanks so much for sharing your expert opinions! Just like Meghan, I love, love, loooooooove max cushioned shoes. Actually, I have been going through a bitter and painful time since I broke my 5th metatarsal bone on my right foot last October. Now that I am on the 3rd month since the fracture repair surgery, my doc okayed me to resume running. (But I still need more balance and muscle gain to log 6-7 nonstop miles a day. Ugh...) I have been wearing NB More V4 even at home to give my surgical foot TLC. And now I just can't wait to run in Asics Gel Nimbus 25 which will be available Feb 1st. So.....Meghan, do you think I will be as happy as can be running in the Nimbus 25? (The only gripe I have with More V4 is its clunky feeling under my feet.)
I just got the Morev4 and feel like the middle is tight on my foot. It's only been a day so I'm hoping they will loosen, but I'm debating returning because it seems like it might be a common issue
Thank you for the comparison! Was really thinking hard on these 2! One of the key reasons why I was thinking about the More v4 was because of its inherent stability with the wide sole. Would you say the nimbus is stable neutral too?
Glideride 3 isn’t as soft but still very soft. Biggest difference I felt was Glideride 3 having more structure. For that reason, I would go with Glideride 3 for longer runs where I want more support. I think the nimbus 25 is the best for easier slow runs where you’re not concerned with pace.
The worst negative point for Asics is that they have a street price in Europe of 200€. I recently acquired a pair of NB More v4 for 87€, it means that you should get a 55% discount on Asics for a comparable price! Way too overpriced in my humble opinion
NB FF More v4 has very soft cushion, but the split heel change from the More v3 produces instability for heel strikers. Reminds me of the On CloudMonster which is also very unstable. I am currently running in the Hoka Bondi 8 which is great for those of us neutral runners looking for forefoot protection and great cushioning that does not bottom out. NB More v4 is a fail for me, v3 was better but did not last. Waiting on my Nimbus-25s to arrive and compare….
I have both, my opinion is the v4 is better for people below 180lbs, and the gel nimbus 25 is better for people above 180lbs! Nimbus is more stabile and supportive, the more v4 is to soft and becomes ustabile the heavier you are
It's strange that there isn't a big price difference between both shoes in the US, but in europe. The Nimbus here cost 40€ more retail than the V4 more.
I tried-on the Nimbus 25, and I was really impressed by its comfy and bouncy midsole; I just don’t like how it and the More V4 both feel like they bottom-out when compared to the Invincible Run 2, which I believe takes the cake in the max cushion category. I also think that the More V4 was a little too firm for a recovery-run shoe.
Went to the store and tested a bunch of them today. I loved the zoomx in the Nike, but they only had the Invincible 3 and I hate it's upper. Ended up liking the NImbus 25 best. The Hyperion Max has a decent stack height, but is definitely not a "max cushion" shoe. The "Max" is misleading. I have 100+ miles on my Hyperion Max and I love them, but they are firmer than both of these by a mile. Definitely recommend you check them out though, they are currently my favorite shoe, just not as protective as either of these options.

Hi Team. Love this platform and your reviews. I do however wish to question (for all our benefit) the specs on new Nimbus 25. 8mm drop presented on 41.5 - 33.5 but information here in SA is it is 30 - 22 stack - can you guys please confirm for consistency
Thank you and keep it up 👍
Run Well
Nimbus 25 best tongue ever ❗
Both are dull and slow af under feet, but the nimbus is softer than the bricks under the more v4.
The More is bricks? 😂 Something is wrong with your feet.
@@QronoZ713 Obviously he hasn't tried them. He's just trolling
Gotta ask shoe companies WHY, every shoe every year. the sizes changes.
Nimbus 24 was verrrrry,,,,,just ok. Bit firm.
Nimbus is overheating my feet. Specifically it’s the insole that heats up a lot even when just walking.
Which one is more stable?
Nimbus. Stability elements but not a stability shoe.
Nimbus 25 much more stable.
Who let the dog out?
Between Two -Ferns- Shoes?
Well then I'm waiting for the Trailrunning episode called Brokeback Mountainrun.
I'm shocked she choose Asics. That looked like it hurt her
NB look better imo
You love the More V4 so much then you go with asics. Hmm!
A comparison on max cushion without giving the details of the midsole differences, in terms of cushion and bounce is merely a waste of time, period.
Oh well, I hope they don’t do this to the cumulus.
Can we get rid of these crap color ways? Need more things to POP.
WHO are the boneheads at NB who thought the split heel on the More v4 is a good idea??????????????????
How could anyone even consider New Balance? NB shoes are so uncomfortable and hard as rocks.
Have you tried this particular new balance? Or just guessing
