Amazing, once more thank you...having spent my whole young life from birth to early twenties living on the Bluff and with that particular stretch being the most imprinted on my memory makes this experience both nostalgic and quite melancholy all at once, melancholic because although the drive is still recognizable it does however, look rather dishevelled. But it is worth the watch.
I agree Michael. I also left in my twenties and only come back for brief visits, and as you say, it's not like it was, but still very beautiful nonetheless. Bittersweet.
I left Durban in the late 90s,i think my last swim here was when someone tried to steal my wallet as soon as i jumped in.Was quite disappointing. Lucky we have more good memories than bad ones.@@wrinklyo
@@gregorycotton1 Me too, went through a 5 metre wave at Brighton while body surfing - measured it by a long surf ski that went over it - embedded in my memory like I was embedded in the sand on the bottom! 🙂
After leaving Durban I lived in Alberton for 3 years before shipping out to NZ in 1993, but I looked at your videos and can tell what was coming up before you got there. New speed humps near the Catholic School in Marine Drive, the new housing where the old camping ground was at Ansteys, the old Anstey's homestead, speed humps and new parking spaces between Ansteys and Brighton. Good memories, thanks for posting

Hi I stay on the bluff for 20 jr love it
It'll always be "home" for me even though I live far away for a time.
Wonderful memories growing up òn the Bluff. Swimming in the surf at Brighton and being tossed about as if in a washing machine
Hi Fra! Ya Good days hey!
I always remember getting dumped at this beach; super strong surf.
