    Spot on about not chasing wildlife but letting it come to you.

    Lovely footage Richard.
    I had to chuckle as the video neared the end. Every time I say to myself, I'm done and going back to the car, that's the tome that everything happens, without fail!

    Some good tips there. Even though the harrier was at a distance, I really liked that pic of the silhouetted bird flying with the trees in the foreground. Great shots of deer too. In another couple of weeks, I'll be out looking for fresh shed antlers. I leave them where I find them for the rodents, I just like finding them in the first place.

    hi Richard
    I completely agree with your comment about the bird houses. I personally think bird houses are bad for the birds, they make them lazy and they learn to stop hunting and looking for food. and it also makes people very lazy and lazy. I greatly appreciate your beautiful wildlife photos. Going outside and taking beautiful nature photos is one of the most beautiful pastimes there is. of course after the High-End audio hobby that I also have. until your next video.❤️👍g😂

    • @ItsWillLee
      @ItsWillLee ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just an FYI.
      Bird houses are not feeding perches, they are a "HOUSE", lol.
      It gives the birds a place to rest and be safe. Birdhouses are used very much by conservationist to help birds. Dont confuse birdhouses with bird FEEDERS..

    • @RichardBirchett
      @RichardBirchett  ปีที่แล้ว

    • @RichardBirchett
      @RichardBirchett  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks very much for checking out my latest video! Yeah the bird houses which I'm guessing is feeders can sometimes be a detrimental to the birds but also it can help them through leaner times! As long as it's not their main source of food it can be okay, although for me killing and using dead animals and birds for Birds of Prey is different in my book and not something I ever do. We always have lots of hobbies but sadly never enough time to do them all, lol. See you in the next one and thanks again. Rich 👍

But ya you smashed it on deer sightings , unbelievably close to that deer that was incredible ! In fact that was nuts !! But the end of the film with the White Tail Bucks was amazing to see !! Thanks mate, I hope they do and it's great to have your opinion on it as the Deer 'Guru'. I wouldn't ordinarily approach a wild-ish Deer that close but they seemed quite happy with my presence but if it were a Buck I would have backed off and gone the other way! A very different situation could have occurred there! It's only when I got back home and edited my video that I mistakenly called the WTD Buck a Stag, force of habit when working with Reds back home! I mean Fallow and Roe are bucks but I got a bit caught up in the moment, lol.. Still people knew what I meant, lol.. No worries, I was glad to be able to bring one of my oldest followers some Deer finally! Miss the Deer very much as you well know. Cheers Rich 😉👍

    Wow, I loved every minute of your video! I miss wildlife photography so much but for now I have to live through your lens for wildlife photos. I moved to Italy a few years ago for business, and can't wait to get back to the States in a few months. I live rural because I wanted to do wildlife photography when not working. To my surprise, nothing, I can't find any wildlife. No deer, no squirrels, no coyotes, few birds and very few wild boar. There was a wolf siting a few months back, I heard it did not fair well and was allegedly shot and killed. Apparently they shot and kill everything here, legal and illegally. I asked my cousin where is a good place, she said don't go anywhere too rural because several people get shot accidentially by hunters. Looking forward to your next video, thanks so much for sharing.

      Thanks so much John that really is one of the best comments to receive! I'm sad to hear that it's not ideal where you are and to hear that Wildlife seems to be constantly getting killed! Hi Rich, what a place that is, I love the light over that meadow too. Would be awesome seeing the Harrier and owls over it 😎 I noticed you were using the R3, what are the differences between that and the R6 and R7? Really enjoyed the video and what a bonus of the White tailed deer at the end. See you on the next one Mate 📸

    • @RichardBirchett
      @RichardBirchett  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Lee, it was a perfect place and if I could have captured a few images of some birds of prey in that light it would have been magical! Maybe next time mate! The R3 is my main body and the AF, Low light and sheer speed of the thing really sets it apart from the R6&7, but that's reflected in the price, lol.. Saying that the R7 and R6 are great cameras and I've got the R7 which struggles when the light fades and the viewfinder is that much smaller so a few draw backs, but in the right conditions the files are lovely. Excellent video Richard. I was lucky enough to see a Kestrel and a flock of Redwings resting on berry trees on the weekend at my local nature reserve. I made a rookie mistake by wearing a red puffer jacket on a cold frosty morning which cost me some photos as the birds could see me a from a distance despite going slowly. What colour do you recommend me wearing for wildlife photography? Big fan of your photography!

      Very cool Simeon, I love this time of year and miss seeing the Red wings and Fieldfares... Always great to see but quite shy especially to photograph! Oh no, a bright red jacket! It's gotta be unique, exactly. If you look at your IG feed, and right now it's shortie season, how many cropped wing shorties have you seen? I can't even count and I couldn't tell one image from the next, it has no story or no soul, a waste of a click if you don't stand out. Same goes for the hide stuff, it's just a rehash of a rehashed idea someone else had, made an image and then sold it to people not willing to put any effort into wildlife. It's not even something I bother to look at, pass it by like I'd pass a full diaper. Or anything by David Driver, equals.

    • @RichardBirchett
      @RichardBirchett  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Vince, I think you either get it or you don't! And it seems quite a few don't! It's SEO overload at the moment isn't it, seems to be the best shortie season in the UK for quite a while! Typical when I leave! It's nice to try and show people a different side of capturing images in wildlife photography not stuck in a paid hide waiting for something to land on a stick or post! Yeah, I've seen quite of few of those images, lol.... Cheers for backing up my points, great to have ethical viewers on side! Cheers Rich 👍
