HOT DOG!! Eat them quite regular with baked beans and Mac n cheese 🧀🌭✌️😎👍✝️🙏💜🌻🍁🥧🦃🤠 My grandparents had camp so we didn't really cook out as we were way out , modern conveniences and all. Hope you find the treasure!!! Be safe!
@@theahalme I still eat Mac & Cheese with Hotdogs cut up in it. It reminds me where I came from (poor) and to appreciate where I've come to (Comfortable).
I say don't worry about other people telling you to feed your dog. She looks like a very well fed, happy, contented pup. She is obviously much loved by you.❤
I remember hiking with my dad, sis and brother growing up. We would take a long way around to find this special little place we called "The Nest." It was inside this massive tree that had fallen and formed a cozy spot. There was a natural water well beside it (it was a small little spring well that bubbled up cold, fresh water through layers of sand and earth) and it was the best-tasting water I have ever tasted. We would build up a fire and make tea, and we would bring fresh cheese, freshly baked bread, eggs and bacon. I can remember it so well even though it was 30 years ago. Unfortunately, now it has all been plowed over and flattened to make houses back in that area. I can still smell the pine trees, the fall weather, and hear the chickadees. I have pictures to remind me of those days too. Rest In Peace Grampa & Gramma ♥
Hello Dustin and Amber I really can’t wait to get in here and see your new video. It always brings a smile on this old ladies face. Are used to love to go camping all the time. Great work you do Dustin and I love the love you have for Amber
Hot Dog! Memories of campfire cooking. When I was young, I loved trout fishing. We would catch and clean the fish at the end of the day and cook trout over coals. I recall putting the cleaned fish in aluminum foil spread with mayo (the oil to prevent sticking) and cook for 10 minutes on each side. The aluminum foil was formed into a closed dish which steamed the fish till done. With the typical sides of garlic bread and a family vinegar-based freezer slaw, it was delicious. The fish would melt in your mouth.
Good job on the stick bread! We would just drape the dough over the stick as the rod is laid horizontally across the fire, it would bake like a very thick taco. It would raise up so it could be sliced and buttered. Since goat needs extra fat added to keep it moist, or it needs to be stewed, we mix our goat with ground beef. The goat meat needs to be coarse ground in the beef mince, not lean (a 50/50 blend) to taste the pieces of goat. 1 lb of ground goat to 1lb ground beef, Season well with salt and pepper, add 1 tbs spoon tomato paste, 1 egg, 1 tbs spoon ground mustard powder, 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce, 2 tbs fresh, chopped cilantro or coriander. Mix well with your hands and form into patties of your choice. Use a cast iron pan with 1 tbs of bacon fat melted and heated to medium-high, and cook burgers until the desired doneness. Make a fresh chimichurri sauce to drizzle over burgers. Use buns of your choice, I like sourdough bread slathered in garlic butter and cooked in a pan until crispy, I love using grilled peppers and onions with a slice of tomato on my burger. I don't want to hide the meaty taste with a lot of condiments!
Just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate the time you took to write that reply. You have made some great suggestions and I think your version of cooked goat meat would be way better than what I cooked. I am going to save your recipe! Have a great weekend 🙏
Same, and I also leave potato skins on when I do mash and the family never even notices and they get all those extra minerals and good stuff that isn't in the flesh of these vegetables.
In sweden we call that pinnbröd "stick bread" its a classic when in the forest. Some ppl are next level when it comes to that stuff, rolling the dough in to 6-10 strains and round braid it to the the stick, looks great, and that hole is perfect to stick a hotdog, berries and whipped cream, garlic/butter/cheese etc. I love it :) Omg i just worked up an appetite xD
@@BUSHCRAFTTOOLS another classic is cinnamon roll on a stick, thin sheath of dough spread it with butter, sugar cinnamon, cut in long thin pices and roll on to the stick. the buttery sweat cinnamon goes great with the smoke from the fire! :)
Always a pleasure to watch your video's Dustin my friend 👍 I'd love a place I could go to like that. Another excellent video with our "Cookin Good In The Woods". Take care & stay safe. Nemasty 🙏🤞🙂👍
I live on 22 acres of land right next to a National forest. Unfortunately, my health does not allow me to really enjoy the outdoors as I would like. I do enjoy watching others doing it like like Dustin!
I use To go camping every summer with my daughters for 10 days straight. We used to cook all kinds of stuff on the campfire but I think my favorite was we always had some cans some empty aluminum cans and we will put in mashed potato corn hamburger and onions in the cans and put them over the hiya. Was always so good with all the juices got together
Snogbrød as we called it in Denmark, twisted/wrapped bread. we rolle it into a long "string", and wrap it around the stick as long as it can go. You can test when it is ready by trying to take it off the stick, if it goes of fairly easy, it is done. If it is still sticky, it needs abit more :) Some great times around the fire :D
That chevon curry looked very tasty dustin 👌 And well the fire piston speaks for itself and is a fantastic piece of kit ( yours of course ) 🔥👍 enjoy your treasure hunt 🔎🧲👍
Definitely hotdog and yeah, you should 100% hang the antlers on the front of your shelter! Great video..the Curried goat looked amazing as did the bread!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Oh man!! That looked absolutely delicious!! Love that fire piston! That is really cool! Great idea to put the skull over the peak.👍🏼 Good luck with the treasure hunt. Back when I was a little kid my bio dad and I would go panning for gold in the mountains of New Mexico. We never found anything but a good buzz and a scorpion bite🤣. Good times!!! Thanks for the next level cooking show!! We are a constant cast iron pan on the stove household. Coalcracker bushcraft here on YT has me wanting to go the next level up with a dutch oven. Especially during the annual apple picking camping trip. We could make apple cobbler or even pork loin with apples😋. Oh man!! But that campfire pressure cooker looks genius. It doesn’t look like it requires a lot of heat either. I mean you didn’t have that thing sitting in an inferno for the half hour it was cookin. Hey, it’d be great to see a collab with you and adventure is made maybe sometime. Take care sir and happy holidays. NQU
We have goat roasts as celebrations around here. We just literally season with garlic, onion, salt, pepper, crushed red pepper, sage, thyme, and some brown sugar. Then roast at 350 to 160F.
Hey Dustin. Nice Video! Oh and Hotdog btw. I am a Metal detectorist from Germany, please be aware That there are some really strict laws for treasure hunting over here. Really don‘t want to See you behind bars!!
The curry looks amazing! Maybe try campfire Shawarma. I gave my last fire piston to a Search and Rescue buddy. Time to order some more. Christmas is coming. Thanks, Dustin!

I saw that hide hanging on the door and when you opened it up ,it looked like someone walking. I thought sure the indians were coming after you to scalp you. Then I saw where you had it hanging on your door. Aaw silly me. Did you get your cabin finished or hut ? I've learned so much from watching all my bushcraft channels that if I ever get lost in the woods or forest ,I know how to build a house or some type of shelter. I know what kind of vegetables and fruits to look for . I watched Mike of ta outdoors tell all about everything you can and can't eat if your ever lost. If you can cook that bread on a stick and when it's done you can tear it open and insert a hot dog in it. I love your videos . I learn alot watching you . Your meals always looks so delicious . Thanks for sharing . Stay safe .
I definitely could see a hotdog working in that stick bread.... Hmmmm, roast goat, goatcopter style in a flatbread wrap with lettuce, tomato and a Greek yoghurt dressing? 👍
Good to see the trusty fire piston back. Still got mine in the kitchen. I am bleddy surprised you never had goat before. You won't want lamb again once you try it a few ways. It's like lamb only leaner and with more flavour. Plain old roasted is good, but it makes a good pie or pasty.
