Jordan is the most under appreciated-rated-watched channel(s) on TH-cam. I seriously look forward to every video he makes, it is like comfort food. On-topic for this video, I was on the fence about this one so more info on it is welcome. Thank you.
The main issue though is that it’s 3 famicom games, and only 3 retro games that were 8 bit games that likely barely fills the disc. The sunsoft library is pretty big, and this is perhaps no better then the Inin with the Taito game collections. Sure is $20 for playasia, and likely abit more retail, but in this current year three 8 bit games packaged and sold with just English added is abit lazy. If it were like 15 to 20 games that’s abit different, at least worth the value. At least something like Ace Attorney Investigations you two decently sized games, remastered, and with additional content is at least something worth the value.
I think another problem is also that Sunsoft is perceived very differently in Japan. They're well-known for crappy games there mostly, like Atlantis no Nazo or Ikki, which were their best sellers as well, but never came out in the West (one of them was apparently responsible for coining the very popular term over there, 'kusoge' - so, crappy game). In Japan, their better games like Blaster Master or Batman didn't do that well to my knowledge. So, what I'm saying is, it may be someone in the management there is unfamiliar with what the West would want, so this is mostly just an addition to the JP release (and yeah, 3 games = definitely too little for what it's worth).
@@mariusamber3237 perhaps, but you got 2 Sonic combo carts on Switch, and one of them has Sonic Mania and Sonic Racing which is great, but even still Sonic Forces and Monkey Ball is still better then this 3 pack of sunsoft games despite being not the best SEGA in there individual series. I like combo packs and collections, but we’re in a era of gaming that 3 just simple games from the famicom is a very bare minimum collection, specially with the ps2 and psp having come before with some good collections.
Man, I love those old first-person adventure games; there's just something really charming about them, too bad most of them stayed in Japan back then, since the West had its own trends (point 'n' click games, mostly).
I would get this if it had a few more games or some of sunsofts lost prototypes but I will grab it on sale digitally at some point because I have always wanted to play that point and click game Nice to see smaller channels covering things I search
I was looking at modern platformers that copied retro games like this but wanted $15. So I figured why not get two of the real retro platformers on sale for $8 and a bonus RPG.
Yeah, it's a hard sell. But......there's physical versions of the Dragon Quest Trilogy Collection and Collection of Mana, so it's not out of place either.
Ngl, I would've be drawn to the cute girl design without knowing what the gameplay is truly like. No hate for these games but I just wouldn't go outta my way to buy them physically. I'd wait to get it digitally on sale.
Too niche for most people outside Japan that aren't 45-55 years old. The bomb hurling game looks like it was made with MS Paint... a decade before MS Paint.

Happy to hear the switch version has english. Will be picking up a copy!

Jordan you are the freakin man.
The legit best and honest reviews on TH-cam

I preordered this because why not? My backlog is over 300, so what is one more game. Playasia has physical for the Switch.

If it was more than 3 games I might be interested…
If it includes 8 and 16bit Batman games then hell yeah 😁😁😁

I love the look of these games... ADD TO CART... What no Switch physical version on VGP???
Playasia
Is it available on Steam?
Yeah, it's a hard sell.
But......there's physical versions of the Dragon Quest Trilogy Collection and Collection of Mana, so it's not out of place either.
At least the dragon quest trilogy you got likely 80 hours of gameplay, and the collection of mana is almost the same.
At least those are lengthy RPGs and are generally considered high quality

Three Famicom games on a BD is funny. Add to it it's three mid at best games and the price makes it more hilarious.
Sunsoft is a C grade developer and these games didn’t come over for a reason. Pass.
I wouldn’t spring a literal nickel for that collection
Fair enough!
Hmmm. Yeah not my type of games.
