Hi, dev of Mario here. I really did not expect anyone to actually play my silly little game with the silly little red plumber. I made it while I was trapped in an ice sheet for a decade while studying maritime psychology at the University of Ilisimatusarfik. Didn't think ANYONE would actually play it and I never even uploaded it to the Internet, so I don't even know how you found it, but I appreciate it nonetheless.
Creator of the game here: I am very glad you enjoyed it I was actually not expecting you to give this game a go and I am happy for that. This was a passion project way back it started as a cringey horror comedy game with bad jokes and I REALLY wanted to improve it. how far we came was a real journey and I hope you enjoy the full game when we finish it. Several years ago I saw a video of Charles Martinet on vacation and doing the voices of Mario, Luigi and Wario as though they were on vacation, making jokes and idol conversation too and it was the closest I've ever heard genuine spoken dialogue officially from these characters other than maybe Mario teaches typing or those weird promotional things for Mario 64 where Charles was using a 3D Mario head as a puppet to talk to the patrons as Mario. Either way it was kinda cool to hear Mario and Luigi talking to each other.. I bring this up because hearing Vinny voice Mario and Luigi in the animatronic horror game reminded me a bit of that. Specifically his Luigi sounds eerily similar to Charles'. I guess you can consider that a compliment.

the FMV-ish bits were high effort, but the rest of it is literally just RPG maker slop that anyone with a brain could have made. and the majority of it *was* RPGmaker slop of pressing through dialogue that has no purpose. You stick your hand in and it gets stuck. Blood keeps flowing into your hand as usual but it won't circulate back up because it's hitting the inverted ceiling thus causing a massive blood clot. Trying to pull your hand out causes more hand and wrist material to go in.
By the way, that FNAF x Mario demo did not literally take 7 years to make, I don’t think. The studio itself probably started in 2017. It turns out this demo is a REMAKE of an older version of the game, and I’m seeing videos of it from 2018. Idk how long ago the demo has been in development for

Super Mario Galaxy 2 4 Super Edition X truly was the Mario 64 mod experience of a lifetime. It was like an egglike game with how insane and coherent it was at the same time Also 1:05:27 felt like the entire universe collapsed in on itself and then 1:08:38 was like getting hit by a freight train

Joel & Vinny sometimes have differing reactions to even the same game at different points of time. E.g., Vinny got really upset at softlocking a few minutes into a game a fan made and dropped the game entirely but other times will just retry w/o issue. I think mood plays a big role but that's true for all of us. It's probs why Vinny makes a big point of having to be in the right mood for games.
Reading long blocks of texts for long periods of time causes viewer numbers to go down. But that doesn't apply if it's Mario and Luigi, because Vinny does the silly voices that everyone loves, I guess.

The dev probably thought it was okay because of Super Mario Odyssey. The New Donk citizens look like regular humans while the Mario characters are more stylized.
Out of all the things in this stream, the smoke detector being fake was possibly the greatest plot twist of all time. Also, Super Mario Galaxy 2 Super Edition X had so many neat tricks up its sleeve.

I'm really curious as to what the Mario FNAF game looked like before the movies came out. It started development before either film but it absolutely took inspiration from both. Honestly the game kinda feels like if both movies were smooshed together and then retold as a single entity

Joel & Vinny sometimes have differing reactions to even the same game at different points of time. E.g., Vinny got really upset at softlocking a few minutes into a game a fan made and dropped the game entirely but other times will just retry w/o issue.
I think mood plays a big role but that's true for all of us. It's probs why Vinny makes a big point of having to be in the right mood for games.

I chalk it up to having a streamer brain with a bunch of worms in it, you play so many different games constantly that nothing matters anymore and all the video games you play blend together into only a few recognizable memories despite having played THOUSANDS of games.
For some reason, its cathartic that the Mario 64 brainrot shitpost purgatory, was like 10x more entertaining than some person's project that took 7 years.

The dev probably thought it was okay because of Super Mario Odyssey. The New Donk citizens look like regular humans while the Mario characters are more stylized.

I'm really curious as to what the Mario FNAF game looked like before the movies came out. It started development before either film but it absolutely took inspiration from both. Honestly the game kinda feels like if both movies were smooshed together and then retold as a single entity
