@@TheRandomWatchDude I was aiming of the new Sky Dweller solid yellow on jubilee, but the price of $54k has gotten ridiculous. 7 years ago on 2017 the retail was $30k, I switched my mind to a solid gold Cartier Santos for $30k. The extra money is not worth it anymore imo.
@@frankv7068 I agree the price of some models is no longer worth it, especially some of the precious metal models. The prices are not realistic, and that goes for a lot of watches
Great looking watch. To me it’s a fun and exciting solid gold piece, more playful less serious vibes. I enjoy your videos. They are inspiring and informative. I appreciate your great blend of fact and opinion.
Super cool! It was great to see it "live". I've owned the DSSD in stainless and apart from the thickness, I loved it. This gold version is just such an oxymoron that it simply... works. I've gotten into precious metal this year, having picked up a few Panerai in red, white, and pink gold. They get a lot of wrist time. I wear them even when there is no occasion. I think the price tag would keep me from adding this to the watch box, but if the budget were there, who knows.
Hi Gerry my advice is to go and visit both, and register your interest with both. And keep following that up with occasional visits. If you want a GMT Master II my advice is to spend some money with them on something else first, as GMTs rarely end up on the wrists of first time buyers. Check out my video 'the waitlist explained' and good luck!
I can't imagine how heavy that watch must be. I went the exact opposite direction and recently bought an Ocean X homage/clomage of the James Cameron Deep Sea in grade 5 Titanium. Sized for my wrist it came in at 146g versus 223g for the stainless steel version. I absolutely love it!
Like you said, this is the type of watch that you buy to admire and wear at home. There's absolutely no way that I would feel safe walking around alone outside with that massive gold and blue Rolex. Would absolutely love to see and admire on another person wrist in real life!
Did it make you interested again for the Deep Sea? Got the d-blue recently and as expected amazingly comfortable watch, definitely more comfortable than a marine master.
I like the two-tone GMTs a lot. Personally I would go with yellow gold as that's the only gold to have, in my opinion. But I am 50 so possibly more drawn to the classic styles that I grew up around, and cherry gold was not around!
This watch is an obvious upgrade to the Bluesy and full gold submariner. Why would anyone by a gold C class Mercedes if they can get a gold E class Mercedes...
Nice looking watch! Looks good on you. Probably a little too big for me, but I’ve got the smaller yg/blue Sub and really like it. As to when and where to wear a watch like this, well, whenever you please - at home, when meeting the wife for lunch, when watch shopping down Queen Street - whenever. So long - as you say - you’re wearing the watch and it’s not wearing you. I wear at least one of my nicer watches every day. I’m literally sitting in a hotel room alone right now watching TH-cam and wearing a platinum Daytona just because it makes me happy. I guess that might sound a bit Gollum-ish? Hah! Cheers!
I like to refer to it as gollum-like for a bit of fun, but honestly you rock that Daytona and enjoy ogling at it from every angle, and playing with it in the light!
Hello yes it was already sold. Very likely the new owner is going to pick up from the airport so they get the 15% tax deduction when they leave the country with it, and wear it on holiday whilst at the roulette table in Las Vegas or something!
Gold or Steel still the same Movement HOWEVER which will make Rolex earn more??....and also moving Rolex to "Next Level" as they always wishing tooooooooooooo! ;)
@@srbell67 to be fair, the Sprite GMT went bonkers when it was first released and then dropped significantly once it became obvious that supply wasn't an issue. What we don't know yet, is whether Rolex will make it ultra rare or easy to get

I love it for all the wrong reasons precious! Yes it does look like an Invicta from more than 10 feet away! Ostentatious conspicuous wealth at its finest! And I cant afford it!
Rolex strike again. Lets go back in time a few weeks. Here there and everywhere we got 'What the bloody hell are Rolex thinking by releasing the Deepsea in all gold , what is the strategy behind this ??. Ha ha and away we go Gotcha again. I've said it many many times in that they are the Kings of marketing. Personaly its not for me , never been a fan of Gold watches although I have to say it does look stunning. I always said I liked the Deepsea from the day it was released. I dont like all the other diamond dial Daytonas and the like. I think I'm just jealous as I can't afford any of them 😕
Wow that actually looks good, looks real good on wrist, your wrist.
Yep. This is my favorite Rolex they have ever made. Unreal.
Now that’s a Rolex! Fits you good, but at 6’3 ft tall and larger wrist, it fits me better 💪🏽🤣
You need to buy it!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm sure not everyone sees the irony in it all, but it's just a fun hobby 😉
Watching your video. Confirmed i love it!
It’s gross, beyond ostentatious, ridiculous and symbolic of the inequality in this world.
But we needs it too! 😈

Wear it at home. Special occasions / events. It only needs you. 😊

Hi, looking for some advise. Wanting to buy a GMT Master ll . Which is the better AD in Auckland or can I register interest in both AD's . Gerry

That is a Beast!
I'm not really a fan of gold watches or 2 tone either, but I would say it looks better on your wrist than I expected. The blue makes it pop.
Thanks 😊 yes it's the blue that makes it happen on that watch

Yes it does make me think that I could pull-off that Deepsea. Honestly I would love a JC like yours!
Mark this is a Lovely watch 👌🏽
A true masterpiece to put away in the locker 😅
AD offered me one but I refused it not my cup of tea!
You did well to get offered it, as I think it will be offered in quite limited numbers
Over the top for sure, but it is surprisingly nice looking on the wrist. Sadly these days you'd lose your arm if you wore it out.
Yep a lot of people would beat you for that watch, for sure. It's a cave watch!
That watch will have a higher body count than Kim Kardashian by the time someone puts a ring on it.
Very Invictaesque
Watch fits you Mark. Consider it, even if to sell on after.
Yes definitely if I could afford it!
All I can say is wow. What's your opinion on the Two-tone GMT's? Would you go with the CHNR or GRNR?

This watch will wear me instead of me wearing it. Can’t have that can I
I don’t think you need any special occasions to wear it? You wear it whenever you want, that’s what I would do… being an owner of a Deepsea
It’s a Rolex bluesy on steroids 👍.
YES!
Clearly you need that watch! 😅
We wants it, precious!
“My precious…..”
You keep your nasty chips! I prefer it raw and wriggling!
an all gold air king would make more sense as a pilot watch not an explorer as a outdoors sport watch
And the kind of left-field choice that Rolex is prone to. Yes I could see a Gold Airking working.

Beautiful….you would be a brave man walking around Auckland CBD with that attached to your arm…Looking for trouble.
Definitely would be wearing a long sleeved hoody with this bad boy on!
I think Rolex will struggle to sell it similar to the other full Gold sports models... it will trade below retail price for sure.
Possibly, although I think it will depend on how available they make it.
