One of my faves. Foley portrays the most irresponsible, babyish executive possible, while Scott is his far more able lieutenant. Mark, of course, is the employee with a penchant for fires, Christmas or not. Superb!
In the 90's I encountered Mark McKinney while riding the New York subway. I started screaming hysterically:"Oh my god!, You're the Chicken Lady!!!!!" "Is that you? Are you really the Chicken Lady?" He said yes, and looked really embarrassed by the commotion of all the subway people strangely staring at him. Americans didn't know "The Kids in the Hall" then. He was very friendly nice guy and told me he was in New York for a casting call.
I love that the background is totally a black and white photo. I've seen this a million times and just noticed so maybe that was a choice to keep our attention on the foreground.
***** Nope. The man can be a bonfire of sexuality at least as much as Scott when he (Mark) want to. I think this was the first Kids sketch I ever saw, almost 30 years ago, and it's always been one of my faves.
+elchasai They often looked beautiful in drag! I liked Mark as Christine ("Extreme Roommate"). Dave made the prettiest woman, but they all had their moments. They played women characters realistically. Scott Thompson did a lot to make me comfortable around gay men when I started watching this show at 18. He's a great actor/comedian. I don't know how he stays in character in this sketch! Dave would have me cracking up! I love them all. I've watched all the episodes hundreds of times.
I actually had a boss similar to that once. Minus the whining, but he refused to fire a couple of people who were a huge problem. One in particular who lied to a federal officer after a stupid prank of his lead to an investigation, which had the feds coming to our place of work, and statements and fingerprints from all of us. Long story.... But the worst part was, there were people who lost their jobs over way less. But that's another rant for another day.
I wish I had other people in my life who knew that 70% of the comments I make come from Kids in the Hall. I quote Chicken Lady more than I should. And no one gets it. lol
I just realized something. when Monique first comes in she closes the door, then it cuts to Dave Foley and back to Monique, and the door is wide open again XD
Impossible to pick my fav KITH sketch, but this is in my top ten. Mark's "Everyone is so flammable" is unbeatable!
"You can't fire me, I'm from France!" Hilarious.
"Everyone is so flammable!" LOL
As a kid, most of what I knew of working in offices came from this show. Adulthood’s been disappointing.
You think your disappointed I wanted to be a French Canadian Trapper stalking the streets of Toronto for my game.

I remember as a child being sad hearing the theme watching the credits roll because the hilarity was over.
3:15 was the best part. Shooting the paper out of Mark's hand had me in tears of laughter the first time I saw it
That was pretty damned funny
She's got a point....
What point?!
How would I know?
*PHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT*
I *DIED*
I wish Dave's pathetic manager character reappeared.
He sort of did, as a school principal on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

I love how Scott says "she's not the only one" to Dave's "She hates me" and the audience completely misses it.
Flames, fire, death, go figure 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The delivery was perfection.
Ahhh the memories. staying up til 1 am to watch this show. I was 13. Classic comedy at its best.
I love how Mark says 'Méchant! Mon feu!', his pronounciation is really good!
I know you said this six years ago but I'll reply anyway. He lived in France for a while when he was young because his dad was a diplomat.

@@evegasse6999 I know you said this 2 years ago but I'll reply anyway :) thanks for the info!
"mechant! Mon feu" cracks me up EVERY TIME

"In _this_ life?"
"Today."
"Tonight?"

How cool!!
You met the Canadian John Cleese...kudos to you and yours
People were staring cuz everyone knew he was the chicken lady, but New Yorkers do not call out celebrities when they see them in public places.
This sketch made me seriously reconsider my stance that Foley was the most attractive woman in KITH.
They were so darn adorable. 🤣🤣
Oh man, Dave was cracking me up with this one!
Well written and acted... one of my favs for sure!
people shouldn't worry...i'm fine.
I know Dave's supposed to be pathetic in this sketch but I find him really cute in this
I find Dave cute in every sketch!

I wonder how Dave's character got the position of a CEO if he always acts like a baby.
Also, Scott looks REALLY good in this one and so does Mark.
MON feu!
Missed that the first few times I saw this 🤣 gaaaah
Ouais.
Monique is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo F I E R C E .
"Mo-Mo.. Do you like it her?"
"Oh, yes! Everyone is so flammable"
If I ever become a boss, I will probably be exactly like this.
This is one of my favourites
When I first seen Mark I was like DANGG! He looks better as a woman than an actual woman! Thats a compliment to him though XD
Everyone is so flammable
I love that the background is totally a black and white photo. I've seen this a million times and just noticed so maybe that was a choice to keep our attention on the foreground.
It gives it that gritty vibe
Everyone likes a fire and it’s Christmas!
jesus, am i the only one who thinks Mark was beautiful in drag?

Monique got away with arson so stands to reason.
"Vegetable?" :D I love this sketch!
If you haven't already, take a look at Mark in the Hotel La Rut sketches. Hubba-hubba!
What do you say?
...vegetable?

My favorite skit!!
Surprised there wasn't a pun on "FIRING a pyromaniac" ;-)

@diecheney actually just realized it IS Monique from the Hotel La Rut sketches...mark & scott are wondering about Tony...
@Bryan514 Mark does rock the look, here. ;)

Oops! Continuity error at 2:22-2:26. But who cares? Everybody loves a fire, and it's Christmas!
Dave is making some choices.
@Bryan514 Mine too. Mark as Nina or Monique is great. I love Monique in Hotel La Rut.
@alittlewideeyed "...and it's Christmas!"

@ToasterPig so she does.
It isn't though, I distinctly see colors on the cars when Foley goes over to the window around 2:15. Looks like it's just a window to me.
