We have left Europe and not really joined CPPPPPTTTTPPPPPTTT (Vague Pacific thingy that no one really understands especially the bit where where we are vaguely half a frigging world away) Public services have been so under resourced that they are held together with hope and charity - neither of which are limitless resources. Healthcare, policing, probation, judiciary, education, utilities.. name a public service that isn't on the edge of meltdown

Objectively, both US Republicans and Tories have put forward many bright, capable, and internationally respected leaders. If democracy requires at least two healthy parties, then surely the state of democracy has been damaged by the implosion of sound conservative representation.
I typically hate right wing politics but not always the politicians themselves (there are a couple), but the current crop in both Tory and Republican parties are rotten and need to be removed from those parties if normality and serious conduct can resume.
