    Bro, congrats on your leaf spring. It's always good to heard a company kept their word on replacement. Looking good bro, keep on keeping on. OlllllllO

    Heard to put a drive line off a 35 when you lift 6" because it's longer. Unless your Jeep needs a SYE swap. some don't, some do.

    Also heard a front drive line fits the rear if you install a SYE. I never owned a Chrysler before this and just bought my '94 Cherokee, so I don't know, still learning. (I've owned 39 other vehicles from different makes)

    8 1/4 came stock in my xj, and was an option at least for some years.

    Kind of confused. Will my stock drive shaft that came with the Dana 35 bolt up to an 8 1/4 with a 6.5 inch lift?

    I have a Dana 35 with the factory Trac-Lok LSD (still works great). I'm planning on going up to 215 85R16 (~31x8.50) and doing some moderate wheeling. If I'm not going to put a locker in the Dana 35 can I get away with using it on those tires on moderate trails? I love having the LSD and I'm not willing to give it up so I'm looking at the cost of the axle, driveshaft, and a LSD plus labor to have the LSD installed if I do this swap. I'm not sure that it's worth it for what I'll be running. If I go with a trutrac I'm probably looking at $1300-$1500 to make this swap. I've also found a 29 spline 8.25 with factory LSD on eBay for $550 but that seems really high to me.

    I've got a dumb question. 98xj, hpd30 front, d35 rear. Guy put in 4.56 gears. If I pull a c8.25 out of the jy and do the swap, the gears won't be the same. So, could I drive it like that as long as I don't put it into 4x4 until I have the gears swapped in the rear? Also, would the same ring/pinion gears fit on over from the d35 to the c8.25?

    I have a 6.5 lift with an SYE kit, if I swap my Dana 35 to an 8.25 will I need a new Driveshaft?

      Hey ronnie. Love your videos man but quick question. I just paid a guy to swap put my d35 for an 8.25. I drove the thing home which is about an hour. Im starting to hear a loud sound like a tire scraping noise every single time i turn the wheel right. It doesnt do it at speeds of like less than 10 mph. But anything over 10 it sounds bad. Any ideas what yhe cause is? It also looks like the back right tire is further out than the left.

    I'm swapping out a dana 35 with a 8.25. The Dana has some wires (some sensor i guess) running to both sides. The 8.25 does't have them. I just cut the wires and pulled the out of the vehicle. Antilock stuff? Are they a big deal? anything else I need to do to compensate for removing them? Thanks

    Hey bud I got a 5 speed 98 xj with abs if I swap a 8.25 out of another xj will this affect the braking I dont care about abs light or whatever I can work thru that possibly ? and would i need a driveshaft for a 5 speed 8.25 jeep xj?

    Where can I go Mall-Crawling without being arrested? Serious question: Is the 27 spline 8.25 rear-end worth my time, or should I hold out for the 29 spline? It will be going into an 89 XJ

    • @theinternets7516
      @theinternets7516 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can find a 29 spline for the same price as a 27 spline and it's reasonably stronger so unless you've got to have it right now I would hold out. There are also A LOT Kore options for LSD and lockers for the 29 spline.

    hey im neww to all this so i was just wondering can i put the 8.25 both front and rear or just rear and also whats the vehicle specs to get the best 8.25

    • @bobert557

      rear only. dana 30 for the front. and 1997-2001 will be 29 spline not the 27 spline

    @Cherokee Ronnie Hey ronnie i have a Chrysler 8.25 in the back of my 1999 and a dana 30 in the front i believe the factory gear ratio is 3.55 Rear Axle Ratio. i wanna go up to 33s when i do my lift. do you think i will need to re gear my axle to maintain daily driving performance?

    • @cherokeeronnie
      @cherokeeronnie  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cherokeeronnie ronnie dude..... your so cool. What if I wanted to do some light wheeling on the 33s do you think that gear ratio would be viable?

  • @adamswaz4878
    @adamswaz4878 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    so all in all is this swap pretty much bolt in? do the brake lines and everything off the 35 still work. other than needing the new drive shaft....I'm trying to decide which to go with ford 8.8 or the 8.25.

    • @cherokeeronnie
      @cherokeeronnie  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Adam swaz yeah all the break lines are the same and even some the the brake parts I've seen the 8.25 do just as good as the 8.8 just depends on how you wheel and where your at I think anything under 35 inch tires lock 8.25 will do just fine that's my opinion for me just running 33s it's doing great 8.8 is a pain I help do it to my buddy's but like I said just depends on what you will be doing with your rig

      Cherokee Ronnie nice thanks yea I'm currently on 32s with the high pinion 30 and the 35 but I would like to run 33s , need new tires . I know I'll have to re gear at some point but I will not put money into the 35

      Do you need the 8.25 drive shaft? I have a 4.5 inch lift as well. I do not have an SYE. Since the Dana 35 axle is a little longer than the 8.25 could this possibly reduce drivetrain vibration?

    How do I tell a 35 from an 8.25?

    • @andrewwinchel4659
      @andrewwinchel4659 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      8.25 has a flat casting at the bottom of the housing. D35 is rounded like the cover at the bottom of the housing.
      Search images of both, you will see the difference. Also the 8.25 is a bit larger, but who wants to measure??? Lol. 8.25 has larger tubes and u-bolts, but again... measuring...
