THank you for your real life truth. I have been 107 for two years and just retested and passed. I have worked for a couple of third party companies and rarely take a job under $100. took on the other day for $185 but never will again. Round trip travel time was 6 hours and took me 45 minutes from setup to tear down. It was not work the $185. Next time maybe $285. I am super interested in thermal inspections and of course my budget is limited. what drone do you think would be a good place to start with $4k. How do get your thermal certification??
Appreciate the real world tips and hope to see more. I have the M30T and plan on using it for SAR and thermal work. We're those high res grid shots the drone was taking or a mapping mission you planned through Flight Hub 2? One thing I learned the hard way with FH2 was that it needs a cell signal to load and execute the mission and I was out in a rural farm area with no cellular service. Luckily I had created a similar mission inside the DJI Pilot 2 app. Unless there's a way to preload the mission from FH2 to the DJI Pilot app, I've added cell signal checks to my scout checklist.
@@spartanaerialservices is the Level I thermography cert pretty much all you need to analyze the data? I am about to get my Level I cert, but have not gotten a thermal drone yet. Just getting started. Thanks for replying…(btw, I’m USAF retired). Thanks for your service brother!
Thank you as well brother! You do learn quite a bit in level 1, but what I have found is that I constantly learn from multiple sources, I view level 1 as a jumping off point. I continue to gobble up any training I can on thermal from as many reputable (and affordable) sources as possible. Level 1 will really give you a super solid foundation!
Is it better to take thermal at night or during the day for room inspections. I will research how to get certified in thermal for sure. I do have my 107 license and retired first responder out of Florida. With my connections from being a former first responder and the recent ban of dji drones in Florida for first responders to utilize them, I will be filling this void with my 107 license with the departments approval as long as i do not interfere with their operations. Over the course of this month, i have customized a light weight thermal camera being attached to my drone yet i did not realize a certification was needed. Most of my thermal would be for search and rescue operations this hurricane season anyhow. Yet i am still interested in the certification of it.
Roof thermals are usually done at night. Solar panels are done during the day. It’s a mess not being able to use DJI in FL, for your use, maybe a Anafi Thermal…awesome bird for the price.
@@spartanaerialservices Greetings from Germany ... The Anafi Thermal is kinda a nightmare regarding software . Anafi stopped supporting the platform many years ago and you have to side load old versions of Freeflight
Love the way you work, very professional 👍🏽
Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to create your videos.
My pleasure!

Actually I was flying in Pilot 2, I haven't found a lot of love in me for HH2 lol! Thanks for the support, much appreciated.
Another fun one... Ive been doing a bunch of these lately along with solar..
Two of my favorite types of jobs to do!
Could you have flown the mission with the M3T? If not, what does the M300 give you that the M3T doesn’t? Is it a camera limitation? Thanks. Jason
Jason, you sure can use the M3T! For me, I enjoy the extra power of the M300 plus the peace of mind of the dual battery system.
