IMO, the only good vehicle the Colonials have. Even so, it's weather and infantry support dependent. What makes it good is the fact that manning it doesn't give you an inherent disadvantage like other Colonial vehicles, as a lot of Colonial vehicle are simply Warden vehicles cut in half (See Bardiche + Scorpion < Chietain). Such ignorant design decisions by the devs results in Colonials being forced to on average to use 1.5 men to man vehicles for every single Warden that mans a vehicle to get equivalent battlefield effectiveness. But you can comfortably spam the light tank destroyer, and not feel like you've wasted your rmats or personal to man it. Even so, it takes a lot of skill to use to not be decrewed. That said, with the return of Battletanks, Colonials are probably just going to spam that instead, since it will be the most reliable option compared to the rest of their misguided roster developed by the devs. MPF are no use, when you don't have extra manpower to use them, and there are server population limits. But Battletanks? Why man anything else, really? I'd chose Battletanks over the new super tank, because at least the Battletank has a machinegun. But for now, the Light Tank Destroyer will be the dominate choice for Colonials, until Battletanks are released again.
Chieftain (tank which is almost exclusively used against fortifications with a machine gun for defense against infantry) is not even close in its combat role to both bardiche (very effective due to its armour and 68 caliber at battles with enemy tanks at close distance) and scorpion (moving WT which also suppresses infantry).

I don’t think BTs will be spammed all that often with the current facilities system. All the people testing it on dev branch are dying

I think the LTD is best described as a push gun tank hybrid.
