I've been looking at other jackets at a couple of mc shops. I'm starting to wonder about the abrasion protection in a slide on this HWK. Some of the other jackets are heavy and feel like the material is thicker in different areas of the jacket. Even my Rev'it mesh jacket feels heavier and thicker in the shoulders and elbows. The downside to the jackets in the stores is they are 5-20 times the cost of this HWK jacket. I've been trying to find out about your Cycleport jacket. It looks like it might be Motoport now? Looks like you got lucky with the price of your jacket I'm seeing them new online starting at $700usd. If I'm looking at the same one.
@@SpokedInTheEyeMoto Yes. I was lucky bought the jacket used but like new on e bay; only one at a low price I have found. Would like to get some matching pants. Possibly marketplace or craigslist, also look on e bay. Most of the gear is not My size but keep looking. What size are You looking for any way?
@ well my HWK is Large and the Rev’it Jacket is xxlarge. So I guess it depends on where it’s made. I think the European manufactures are on the slim side…which I am not.
@@SpokedInTheEyeMoto Sure I get it. My jacket is a large and it works well for me. I'm not slim and ok with that. Just want too have fun and enjoy riding.
I don't know if youtube is holding my comments to you again like you've mentioned but I did reply to your shoutout post mate, thanks it's appreciated, Yeah gear can cost a fortune, that's why the word Squid came around as most beginners spend all their money on the bike, have nothing left over & ride about in jeans, shorts & trainers
Yes your message here was the other message in the held section. It's very strange. At least you know if I don't respond to your messages for a while its because they are being held.
My first new jacket was a HWK. Still have it, 5 years later. Just put proper armour gear in it, like D3O protectors. The foam that nearly all companies ship with their bike clothing, is not rated armour, even if it says it is. It's just crappy black, or black and yellow foam, or cheap rubber inserts. It's a good starter jacket, till you can afford a better one.
That is a good jacket, the armor is limited. However most integrated gear is.

5 Years, thats good to hear. Yes the armor certainly feels very low quality compared to D30. Thanks for leaving the comment.
I bought the same jacket and love it. I’m going to order the matching pants.
@@philliphinkle2812 I’d like to know how well the jacket connects with the pants.
@ I’m not sure. I don’t think they do, but I’ll find out
