I would love to see some "fails" videos. Times when you die before dealing damage or die to team damage or anything else stupid like that. I think we've all had moments like that, even those as good at the game as you. Perhaps show us some builds that looked good but ended up being terrible with a post-mortem of why.
This is the super near 95% default mech specs. But then again, this was the Sunspider everyone used on all the other variants. Now they just heroed what people played the most :D
I was surprised that the stock loadout worked this well. The only other loadout I've seen so far is the LPL build that basically requires the Manul. After a little adjustment, I was hitting 600 damage games.
Yeah a lot of the more effective Manul builds really need both arms as well, so it doesn't feel good having to cannibalize the arms to do one-side LPL. If you don't have the Manul, you're probably better off doing 4 ERLL since you need armor on both arms as opposed to just one side, with the advantage being the range + more heatsinks.
You know what? I think they should make another mech variant that can utilize the siren and lights from the K9. Maybe some 'Rescue' mech or similar. Great matches Bara!
I keep getting stuck in certain areas too... it's weird, it happens on a few maps. Minning Collective, Hellebore, Viridian to name a couple. Like something grabs yer Mechs feet... it's weird...
The sun spider is a great ambush machine switch the engine off find some foliage to hide in when the line is over run and you behind enemy lines the sun spider engines kick into gear fast run chew up the legs or big cannons and get the hell outta there with as much speed through terrain covering
Weapon doors got buffed! Weapons are no longer delayed by them and they now close almost immediately after the weapons stop firing. Maybe take an Archer or Catapult out with an MRM or SRM shotgun build and show it off?
I played around with omnipods a bit and made what sounds like a terrible build on the Ambush... 1x UAC10, 2x Heavy Medium Lasers, the ECM and 2x LRM 10+ Artemis. I took it into quick play to mess around and found I had zero problems staying constantly engaged. Don't sit back and LRM; use the ECM to constantly shift around on the flanks, poke with the UAC 10 and Heavy Mediums and keep firing your LRM's when you pull back and/or are just out of line of site. Stay around 200m from your enemy. I have consistently been dealing 800+ dmg per round with it.
There would definitely be advantages to the ER mediums, like syncing range, but since there are only two energy hard points once you switch the side torso omnipod for the ECM, I elected for the heavy mediums so it punches a little harder. The range is less important if you're successful at keeping the enemy at +/- 200 meters.
I like the design of the Sun Spider, and I like the Roughneck... that being said, I don't really care about Clanner Nonsense Mechs, I'm Inner Sphere all the way... It'd be great if they offered the Roughneck Bolt by itself, along with the deal... I'd get the Bolt if it was JUST the Bolt. I only have Free Clan Mechs, I've never purchased one in the years I've played MWO lol.
Where does one obtain this mech? Is it a purchase thing or a reward? I’ve seen the event to get kills with it but don’t know where to get the mechs for the achievements.
you were stuck because the guy behind prevented you from reversing. it happens to me all the time and is why i get killed more often than i like. and yes it is highly aggravating.

Tinkering around with this mech I also found the default loadout works really well I had some killer games with the default loadout.
That GeeRam dude in first game is really, really good.

Didn't change anything on the mech and made 1078 Dmg in the first run 😁
But it is very dependent on the team and how often the guns block.

I've noticed the same. Maybe some of the terrain got a little messy after they remade some of the maps.

I really want to like the Sun Spider, but I just can't keep the side torsos intact. They always seem to pop like water balloons
No need to worry about streamer agro with this mech, that paint job will make you a target regardless
