When this movie was released, it was supposed to criticize the BOPE actions in the favelas but it completly backfire and people supported BOPE even more because crime in Brazil was always high (and know is even more) and people was tired of all the drug dealers, killers, and gang members.
This practice ordered by "top" dealer to set someone on fire (rival gang's dealer, an addicted in debt, a favela's resident, a traitor or anyone he thinks they deserve), this practice on use the tires and gasoline is called "microondas" (microwave). I think I do not have to say why...
I am Brazilian and this was not my reality, but I grew up in extreme poverty, like many, without electricity and drinking watee from a nearby creek. The problem with the cukture of violence is not a exclusively Brazilian thing, but when people justify crime with poverty, they are contributing with that culture. What we need is more examples to follow, that show how discipline always beat the difficulties, but unfortunately that kind of example dosent have enough endorsement. Its easier to sell that someone else is responsible for your future than that is your responsability. By the way, great reaction man. Just saw the City of God the other day.
It's not an excuse, buddy. It's just a fact. Moralisms aside, extreme poverty is a fertile breeding ground for all sorts of violence. Closing an eye to this and hoping for the best is just something national states can depend on as far as public policies.
No entanto, é nossa melhor opção.
Bro, estou seguindo seu canal. Voce é negro e eu so percebi no final do react..
Dear Wlsonx, despite all the violence in the film, you should watch and react to Elite Squad 2. I guarantee you won't regret it and will see a much better film.
it depends on who you ask, i love the second one, but the first is the better movie in my opinion. it feels far grittier and darker. even though the second one is still both, the first has a diferent weight to it. storywise the first is also more solid while the second feels a bit random at parts. again, i still love both, but to me, the first is the better movie.
Films like this only help to propagate a terrible image of Brazil. And yet, all brazilians are cheering it up, and then complain that Brazil has a terrible image abroad.
@@CenturionMariusVinicius Well they dont go away either when you glorify them in movies. It's not about pretending they dont exist. Trust me if you live in Brazil as I do you already see plenty of stuff in the news. It's about avoiding treating it as a banal thing. It's very well established that over exposure to violence in news and papers help normalize the problems and make people conformists and complacent to the situation. I lived in germany for a couple years and their policy (not sure if by law or simple as a philosophy) is to not allow too many headlines exposing crimes and violence in the papers and TV news. I asked a couple police officers there how come there is virtually no crime reports in papers and TV news and they said the crimes do happen (and very often indeed), but the papers and tv news are not allowed (or voluntarily choose not to) focus on that type of news, cos they understand that over display of crimes in the news simply stimulates more crimes. This was 20 years ago though, not sure how it's the situation there nowadays.
3:35 RIP Caio Junqueira - 1976-2019.

The subtitles in english does not help to make gringos understand the drama.
True. I get is harder from Portuguese to English than the opposite, but ppl in charge of that don't even seem to know what they're doing lmao
Well they got the important parts right I think

The sequel show us more bad ass the elite cops. Love the soundtrack in this one ...think the band called tijuana

Love the soundtrack by tijuana
Cala boca doído
Concordo contigo, pobreza não é desculpa pra nossa própria incompetência

The subtitles are shit. They don't do justice to the dialogue
The scene in the first night of initiation of the elite cops.....best scene

Ngl those subtitles suck. People who translated this specific subbed version are absolute incompetents.
Half of the lines are missing
yep, and wrong too
🔥🔥🔥
Elit Squad 2 is better than 1.
it depends on who you ask, i love the second one, but the first is the better movie in my opinion. it feels far grittier and darker. even though the second one is still both, the first has a diferent weight to it.
storywise the first is also more solid while the second feels a bit random at parts.
again, i still love both, but to me, the first is the better movie.

Sadly the Subs were so bad and don't give the true words and vibes. But great movie no matter what!
