  • Which wheel do I get? A small and cheaper wheel you can learn in and later decide it’s not for you that won’t break the bank, or a large wheel that goes faster and further distance you can grow into for many years to come. It all depends on how you are going to use the wheel.

    EUC changed my life too about 4 years ago. I still get the same enjoyment out of riding as I did when I first started -- maybe even more enjoyment because I know every day that I ride I'm getting better.

    I started Hoverboard in early 2021, and found EUC videos online while researching hoverboard. Started on V5F now I'm on a V11! I love watching your videos- I'm trying so hard to limit my money spent on gear and stop thinking about new wheels- I want to see how long these two can serve me, the longer I go without buying new stuff, the more affordable the hobby is. I made pads rather than buying pads.

      It is so easy to follow TH-cam and get caught up on the Electric Unicycle trend. My EUC beginning was that very thing and soon realized after my fourth wheel, pads, pedals, and cameras, that my limit had no end. Had to face reality and slow down. About a year ago I sold my V10F to possibly make room for another wheel when the time is right. Meanwhile, I'll continue to ride and enjoy my older model’s wheels which are still in great shape. And you are right as long as we go without buying new things the more affordable our hobby is.

    I started with the Sherman S. I didn't even use it until I had my Clark Pads bumper system installed. It took me about a week or so but now I've got over 500 miles under my belt. This hobby is great! I'm still working on seated riding. I think I need a higher seat. I enjoyed watching this. Thank youf or sharing!

      I've not purchased a new wheel for about three years now. Still, ride my current wheels regu;early. Now waiting for what Leapekim will leak for their next wheel this year. Hoping on an upgrade to the Sherman S or Lynx, or a total new model. I'm overdue for a new model wheel.

    When I first got into EUC's it was due to me wanting to have something I could ride as I had to sell my horse. I thought the V11 I would be able to ride on trails and off-road and hit the same spots I could on my horse. As a new rider I did manage to ride in a pasture, but really did not feel it was good enough to really explore in the woods like I used to. Then I got a Sherman OG, and I found I liked the range and being able to ride for as long as I'd ride my horse and as long as I stayed on pavement it was great. Then it was the S22, and right away the suspension just sucked and was only slightly better than the V11. However after I went to rollers on the S22, it was like an entirely new wheel that could really go all the horse places, and even better MTB single tracks with jumps etc. Now in my journey, I am saving to buy the Lynx since the S22 range is really pathetic compared with the Sherman OG.

    Hello. I’m a big Sherman fan. When the Sherman S came out I thought I was convinced it would be my next wheel but lacked a BMS system for the price of the wheel. But then the Sherman Lynx was announced with everything I was looking for but with a smaller battery than my current OG Sherman. So I decided to wait for the next model as I have been for so long. If Sherman puts a bigger battery on the Lynx which will make it slightly heavier I would consider it after batch 1 is sold. For now, I’m ready to buy but still contemplating a possible Lynx upgrade or an upgraded Sherman S 134V and above with BMS.

      I'm 300 miles into riding my Lynx. Wearing your gear and wearing it correctly makes a bug difference when you eventually have a higher speed crash. I had a speed wobble crash at 35mph after a long ride at around 50 miles before I had the feel for everything. Glad I had all my gear on, remember to clip any anti-ride up straps on your riding hoody/jacket. i didn't so what would have been an injury free bail ended up with road rash right above the belt line. Lesson learned. Also have a friend with a 3D printer, TPU bumpers get expensive quick if you are buying them from Grizzla. They did a great job making it so the only damage to my Lynx was cosmetic.
      Going from an 18XL to the Lynx felt great. Suspension feels so nice even compared to when I got to try out an S22 at a group ride.

      @@4RT1LL3RY Grizzly makes a good product but you get what you paid for. I also experienced a fall from my Sherman OG. I slipped off the right pedal and injured my right ankle, luckily for gear and high-top shoes, my injury was just a road rash. Gear is a must. Coming from a smaller wheel to a Lynx must take some getting used to. Once you get it, the riding experience gets easier on every ride.

      I feel you on the upgrade thing. I opted for a Lynx as my first wheel in large part due to the battery packs having an IEC certification and a smart BMS. If I could have that in a wheel like a Commander Pro, EX30, or Sherman-S, that would have probably been my choice, as I find myself often wishing I had a more stable wheel with multiple rides of battery life. Looking at what's available, there's so many wheels that are almost what I want, but not quite, and so many otherwise good wheels that have nagging little issues that seem absurd on a device that costs so much.

    Am curious you mentioned falling once.Did you mean you only had one fall in like 6 years? Am just curious how many people have had that kind of experience? The perception from what I see on videos is that most people have multiple crash’s along the way. Am 60 and wondering if I stay within myself. Like setting the beeps at 40 on a 50+ mph wheel. And generally ride around 30mph. I will always ride geared up just in case but wonder if there are a lot of just everyday riders that are not pushing their wheels and are not likely to get in a wreck , cutout, etc

    • @coquirobinson3025
      @coquirobinson3025  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’ve only fallen off once. But most of the EUC accidents are self-induced by either being reckless and overpowering your wheel to cut out or a natural mishap such as my slipping on a patch of oil spill on the ground. My normal cruising speed is at about 20- 30 MPH. I fell off coming around a corner on a local street and did not notice what seemed to be oil on the ground but was at the point of no return while leaning on the turn, at about 20 MPH. I slipped and slid and fell on my right side injuring my right ankle and arms fully geared mind you, just like sliding to home base, It happened so fast, I immediately got up and rode home, but it was a big mistake. I overlooked my injuries and started to feel the pain until I removed all my gear. Road rash on my right arm but my right ankle and calf were the worth. I was out of commission for three months. But now at 57, I’m still riding strong but noticeably at slower speeds.
