    Thanks for actually stepping into the light and admitting some appreciation for Nickelback. I don't think anyone's going to call them "one the greatest bands ever", but there's certainly nothing wrong with them either. Def Leopard was treated this way in the late eighties and early nineties. Same thing, early stuff was better than later, but they didn't deserve the disrespect they were shown. So many people love to hate on Nickelback, but then you go, then who the hell is buying all their records?

    • @karnante4924
      @karnante4924 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really like the music that nickelback plays and writes, but some of the lyrics are... well... childish? I don't really like the lyrics about banging women or drinking whiskey out the bottle. Well, sometimes i do, but i don't speak for drunk me 😉 But i agree that they should be appreciated as the good musicians and riff writers that they are

    • @waynebush7953
      @waynebush7953 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@karnante4924 agreed, but if you do any research whatsoever, you'll find that those themes are common and prevalent in rock music going back to it's beginnings. Lighten up. Most people need to. Nothing is allowed to just be fun anymore and everything is over analyzed by people who expect to be offended by everything. It's just music. You don't have to behave in a manner it describes. Have a good one.

    • @karnante4924
      @karnante4924 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@waynebush7953 Well, the topic is as relevant now as it was in the early days. Just take a look at Steel Panther. The thing with Steel Panther is, that they are doing it just for fun and are not to be taken seriously. With Nickelback, there are many lyrics that have a very deep meaning and deal with serious issues. And it is at least suprising that some other songs are not that serious. I agree that it should not be taken that serious and being overanalyzed. The wide range of lyrics and style is one of many things why nickelback is so popular. And many people see this as a sellout, that is the main criticism. Have a good one.

    • @AcDcDrummerJake1215
      @AcDcDrummerJake1215 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree! I was hoping to hear some Silver Side Up riffs in the video. It’s definitely my favorite Nickelback album, best riffs out of all of them imo. The couple you mentioned, plus “Woke Up This Morning”, “Hollywood” and “Hangnail” never fail to get stuck in my head for days at a time when I’m reminded of them. The Long Road comes in at a close second for me as well. But I do get the impression that during the early “Curb”, “The State” and “Silver Side Up” they were just using probably whatever they could get their hands on and whatever they thought might get them a decent distorted tone. When I’ve watched older live Nickelback concert videos in the past I’ve noticed that their live tones varied greatly from year to year, venue to venue etc. I really think it wasn’t until about The Long Road that they were really able to start and nail down a tone and sound that they liked and was unique to them, and even later until they figured out how to convey that tone well live. Some of the live concert videos around 2003-2004 from The Long Road are great sounding guitar wise, others are odd, but that could always be attributed to how they were recorded too. The SSU era live videos and earlier are even more mixed on different tones. But it’s always seemed like to me after about All The Right Reasons they really had one tone and sound they stuck with from then on. It evolved a bit but I didn’t ever notice any major changes live or in studio after that like with the albums leading up to it.

Its an actual tactic in marketing, social engineering, etc.; Just present something in a way that the negative reaction either benefits the "product," or makes those who are fans more fervent about their support.
      Its a funny tendency though, in more natural interactions. "Underground" bands are rarely actually underground, "underrated" rarely means someone(s) are rated lowly by most. Most of the time, it all just means "Im here because im different, just like the others."

    Jokes and hatred aside, Nickelback has some great riffage but now i'll give my opinion
    Follow You Home - Could've been more scooped sounding like with a metalzone but it's fairly close, i'll give this a 3/5
    Burn It To The Ground - pretty close but the guitars sounded a bit out of tune considering it's on a 7 string, this gets a 4/5
    Feed The Machine - this was VERY close, it could've been the actual record for this, i've gotta give you a 5/5 for this one
    Flat on The Floor - close but it could've used more gain like from a Mesa Boogie Amp, but it's fine and i'll give this a 4.5/5
    so overall it's good but not perfect
