It’s a heavy bike already with limited power, modern chains are easy to maintain and far more efficient than any shaft. Had three GSs and the shaft ruined the gear change.
Overall, an informative review and appreciated...but it would add a great deal if you were to show yourself sitting astride the bike at rest with observations on seat height and whether you are tippy toe or flat-footed. A loaded bike with pillion requires some confidence when stopped as well as at speed. Cheers
It's clearly for those who do NOT go off road. I'd MUCH rather have this setup. Handles better on pavement, the overall form factor is better for long trips. Easy decision.
Interesting point and I went through the process of looking at the AT and NT1100 and I would reverse your comment and say why would anyone buy a AT if they only did road riding the NT1100 is better.
Being the owner of a 2024 nt1100 I can safely say the biggest pain in the ass is the snatchy throttle never owned a bike this bad .Then the screen works but adjustment is to stiff and you have to stop to do it and last is the stupid mass of switches on left bar . These all need sorting.why did I buy it well the engine is brilliant the sound and fuel economy is brilliant two up it's good and I got it in manual brand new for 11 grand and have no issues with the suspension out of the box .
Im a young rider and me and gf would love this but its so hard to get a new bike while trying to pay bills :( maybe one day, the red version looks lovely
Apparently 66% of sales are DCT already, so they won't probably lose any sales. It just seems a bit of a old mans bike anyway. Coincidentally my father just retired and is looking at this. His 2004 Goldwing is unnecessary bulky and heavy for solo trips.
Don't worry, you don't have to. I believe honda announced that initially but then after the grumblings of the buyers they added the option to purchase a manual bike with electronic suspension.
I'm no techno gimp, but I couldn't go back to manual gear change again, I don't do 90% of the functions on the bike and love it, looking forward to my 25 plate on 1st March
My Pan European is 20 years old and has an electric screen that I can fine adjust on the move. Why the NT incorporate this onto its screen. Not hard or costly when the technology is proven and to hand.
you only have electronic suspension with DCT ???, counts this bike out for me , what is wrong with Honda, manual bike with electronic suspension I would be placing my order on Monday as it is , no way , I want to ride a bike and be in control not be a passenger
A 9-minute review? Really! I hope Bennets Insurance will do better and give us a proper review because this one is not detailed enough (for me). Rant over.
Lolz. If your imu is reading "yaw" you're about to crash. Honda are now experts at building 2 wheeled hearses. All they are doing is releasing iterations and charging stupid money for them.
This bike is a sign that your loved one is depressed. That the light has gone out, and you should talk to them more. It says, "Who cares?". Its unflavored ice cream. They should call it the Honda Motorcycle.
I don't want to sound like an RT snob, but the old NT looked awful, with terrible features such as the screen as you demonstrated. Well below what I'd expect from Honda. Was this the sorry excuse for a Pan European replacement? Come on Honda, pull yourself together. Let's have shaft-drive, 1300cc, electronic screen (and lowers for leg protection), heated seat and grips. BTW, snowflake, you go for manual because you're a MAN and it's an important part of riding a bike. If you find it fatiguing, get yourself a car.
Shaft drive would be great, but belt would be a good improvement over chain
Then people would buy this instead of a gold wing.

Saw this at the NEC and in the blue its actually a really nice looking bike, something i never thought i cpuld say about an nt
OK, but now new Africa Twin AS have 19" front wheel and the same seat height, but with 25L tank, so what's the point of buying NT really?
It's clearly for those who do NOT go off road. I'd MUCH rather have this setup. Handles better on pavement, the overall form factor is better for long trips. Easy decision.
@@allwheeldrive New Africa AS is not for off road really also, even have road tyres Metzeler K. Street

@@chrisdagnall8666 because Africa have 25L fuel tank, thats why.
@@prof.2248ok fair enough if you need that range, I do get 240 miles per tank on my NT which is 50 miles more than my butt can take 😊

It’s a shame that if you want the electronic suspension you need to go auto. That will lose sales methinks.

@@duncanorr5926 Thank you, makes sense.
Any decent colours?
I think the Guzzi Stelvio is a good competitor, don’t you agree?
Not out yet, but I'd say obvious competitors, Yamaha Tracer 9GT+ Y-AMT? What put me off was the double screen and too many buttons!
I would’ve loved for Honda to put this engine in a new Firestorm/Superhawk.
I’m a simple man.
It would have been nice if they’d made CarPlay wireless just for Google Maps navigation
Why you didn’t mention, that electronic display is so slow, it takes about a minute to turn on , and of course you have to push ok button
It seems like your review is a bit at odds with your title.
Maybe that you don't won't the DCT is because you can afford it but you just don't want it. Best!

The bike looked the same but the presenter looked completely different.
I think the kawasaki ninja 1100 sx se is the direct rival for this.

Would prefer the Ninja kawasaki the only thing that this as is the suspension

Get back to smaller displacement motorcycles, MCN!
why still keep the smaller screen. pointless and irritating.

If you added all those features you mentioned they aren't going to be able to price it so low...
@jonnybonny4193 That's true but at the end of the day you need a bike fit for purpose and worth keeping for a long time.
Ah yes, masculinity defined by shift lever operation. Bravo 👏👏
@jasonslavik1224 Yep! Scooters come in automatic for those who like that kind of thing.
pretty sure Honda's are more reliable than BMWs. You're paying more for a BMW for the features (that many don't want or need) and a brand name.
