You'd be surprised of how Guadalajara blends together the modern and the ancient. It's the second most important metropolis in Mexico not only due to its size and population but because it's an economic, cultural, industrial and cosmopolitan hub. The double Guadalajara-Guadalajara sign makes reference to the famous "Guadalajara Guadalajara" song which even Elvis sang. I love the unique vibe in GDL.
Yes, Elvis did sing that song in FUN IN ACAPULCO back in 1962. But the mariachi King Vicente Fernandez did sing it also and maybe more original version. I was in Guadalajara in 12/12/21 even being dressed like the King in mariachi outfit attending a party when we all heard that Vicente died that evening. Ok, life goes on.
Yep! That is just the reality of it. Staying open and being able to look beyond some things really opens you up to seeing the beauty of the day to day!

Today (as I’m watching this) is Sunday morning. On Sundays, many main roads have blocked/limited traffic (Vía Recreactiva) to allow the people to jog, ride bikes, skate or take their dogs for a walk on these normally busy streets. You can rent bikes and ride from Centro to Tlaquepaque (one os several routes). I’m leaving now!
So interesting! Very different than some of the other places you have visited recently. Also - learned today that drowned sandwiches are a thing! Happy Sunday keep up the great work.

Glad you two had a positive experience. I know I have been some places and have had negative experiences and it does kind of ruin your outlook and time. But most the time it's just 1 incident and 1 person and it won't happen again. There are way more good people than bad.
Yes we’ve had bad experiences some places as well and as much as you want to just run to the next town it is better to stay and face it. It sucks when stuff like that happens. We had a guy come at us in Valladolid it was pretty scary but we just walked away and got away from the situation and didn’t let it ruin our time.
Hi Jim! We had such a great time in the city! Oo yes and they also have amazing international cuisine as well. Had some of the best Korean we’ve ever had there!
Excelente recorrido. Solo mencionar que de preferencia la "Carne en su jugo" se come como sopa, es decir con cuchara y no en forma de tacos, aunque cada quien puede comer como mejor le parezca, por supuesto!

It looks so European!! Some of the buildings remind me of the historic buildings in Rome . One of those buildings looks like the Pantheon. Man, I miss live music. Korea is so strict with COVID that even live music isn't happening. Omg Adam is still as hilarious as ever
Yes, the Spanish arrived and colonized a lot of Mexico so that’s why you’ll find colonial cities all over the country. They converted a lot of the local indigenous to Christianity, hence the massive cathedrals. Oh wow, I didn’t realize how strict it was over there. We really hope things will get better for you.
About the climate in Guadalajara, this time of year it's the cool/dry season. March/April/May you have the hot/dry season, followed by the rainy season. Since Guadalajara is only at 1500m, it can get quite hot in the hot/dry season during the day (around 35°C).
@@TheCountryCollectors When the rains hit (June), then you will notice the difference. It will be much more humid than bone-dry but the humidity is not super-overwhelming. The rainy season goes from June to November and Guadalajara does get a lot of rain.
Wow good to know. We were traveling down the Riviera Maya last summer in June and omg - the humidity! Never again! You have to change outfits at least twice a day! 😝

So excited, that’s my city ! Currently living in Switzerland… i can almost smell the Torta ahogada and Carne en su jugo , so delicious! Great job guys!
Thank you Gina! Your city really captured our hearts!
you own it? LOL It´s not yours, it belongs to the ants and plants.
wow, you should do a vid on living switzerland. i would love to see that too.
My favorite city in Mexico... the feeling I have just being there is so special. Thanks for posting.
Absolutely it’s our pleasure thanks for watching!
Always room for dessert 🇲🇽
Haha yes always! See Heidi!
Good morning! ☀️ We absolutely love that. I didn’t know you could ride to Tlaquepaque wow - thanks for that info! Enjoy your day!

I've watched so may videos of Guadalajara tours but this has been the best! My family and I are going for spring break super exited!
What a beautiful compliment thank you so much!
Thank you for all you do. Thanks for sharing the journey with us. As always it is appreciated..
Sharing is caring! We’re so happy to share, and feel very grateful to do so. Thank you so much for joining us V! We love having you along.
So interesting! Very different than some of the other places you have visited recently. Also - learned today that drowned sandwiches are a thing! Happy Sunday keep up the great work.
Hi Alex, good morning! ☀️ Yes it is a lot different. Has much more of the Spanish colonial influence. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to come along on our journey! We appreciate all your support. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Hey Robert! Yes it’s so beautiful definitely work a visit!
Guadalajara is absolutely beautiful and amazing. Good job country's collectors
Thank you so much Nico!
That sandwich is AMAZING and reminds us of the New Orleans PoBoy sandwiches we love. Your episodes are are wonderfully informative yet never boring. And what a beautiful day! Stunning drone shots too. You two always fun, even love Adam's corny jokes:) Thanks for bringing us along this honest foodie/travel review.
Sending Best Wishes, James and Kim ❤️
Hi James and Kim! We’re so happy to have you along! Haha thanks for appreciating Adams jokes - he just wants to make you all smile and maybe get a few laughs! Lots of corn 🌽 over here haha! And I’m glad they aren’t boring with all the information. It’s a fine line when it comes to that. We’ve been just creating for 8 months now so are still really learning what works and what doesn’t! Thank you so much for your feedback- have a wonderful week and hope to see you here next Sunday!
I was on the fence about taking a trip from Puerto Vallarta to Guadalajara. After watching this video I think we're going to go.
Thanks guys.
Love your videos!!
Hey Derek! Oh it’s a beautiful spot to check out. Also Tonalá and Tlaquepaque close by are worth exploring too!
Why not both? Puerto Vallarta is only a few hours from Guadalajara.
@@Aero364 I’m pretty sure they said they were going to take a trip from PV to Guadalajara so they will get to see both! 👍🏽
Yes we'll do both !
I've been there twice and I love this city.
We can see why! Thanks for watching!
I’ll be going soon for my first time. How is it compared to Mexico City? I’ve only been to Mexico City and loved it.
@@Roseannar Guadalajara is more interesting than Mexico City in my opinion. Especially the old town of Guadalajara is lovely.

Look awesome. The cuisine also appears to be tremendous!
Hi Jim! We had such a great time in the city! Oo yes and they also have amazing international cuisine as well. Had some of the best Korean we’ve ever had there!
Excelente recorrido.

I think Mexican government should seriously consider the fee for this commercial you are doing. The video is simply so immersive and without a single scene that is "just to prolong the video". The video is so powerful.
Wow! That really means so much to us. What a great compliment. We are just so grateful to be here in this beautiful country. To be surrounded by the warmest people, so much culture, the best food and such a diverse landscape. Nos encanta Mexico!
@@TheCountryCollectors 🙌🏻😇
Just to check if the Mexican government has decided to pay something. I'm kidding, I watched this amazing upload again.👌👌
The Guadalajara sign is doubled because there's a song that goes like "Guadalajaraaaa, Guadalajaraaaa" . The name of the song is Guadalajara too , of course 😂. I love watching people enjoying the cool places i take for granted living in here
Hey! Oh yes so many people have told us that - what a beautiful sign! That tends to happen. I’m from New Jersey right near NYC and it’s the same way! Thanks for sharing your beautiful city with us.

Oh that’s so cool Ramon! We hope you have a wonderful time!
The iron work on the gazebo is beautiful
They are known for that here! There are so many artisans in this area. Iron work, glassblowing, woodwork and pottery.
Both of your Spanish are getting very impressive. You can roll your r's. Guadalajara seems like a gorgeous place to get lost in music.
Ooo thank you!!! We are slowly learning! It really is. You can just sit in the plazas and let the music find you!
I noticed in pronouncing ahogadas that you have been working on your Spanish. Thanks for making an attempt to learn the languange and the culture. I really enjoy your videos. As a Mexican born in the states, I really appreciate getting to know Mexico your videos. There is so much to see. Gracias

Maybe because almost all Mexico was conquered by Spaniards?
Very nice and wonderful video of this beautiful city !! Guadalajara is amazing. Greetins from Morelia !!!
Hi Rafael! Aww 🥰 thank you so much for your positive feedback. It truly is so beautiful!
About the climate in Guadalajara, this time of year it's the cool/dry season. March/April/May you have the hot/dry season, followed by the rainy season. Since Guadalajara is only at 1500m, it can get quite hot in the hot/dry season during the day (around 35°C).
Oh wow that is quite hot! Thanks for sharing this. Does it ever get humid or does it stay dry for the most part?
@@TheCountryCollectors When the rains hit (June), then you will notice the difference. It will be much more humid than bone-dry but the humidity is not super-overwhelming. The rainy season goes from June to November and Guadalajara does get a lot of rain.
Wow good to know. We were traveling down the Riviera Maya last summer in June and omg - the humidity! Never again! You have to change outfits at least twice a day! 😝
Another great tour .beautiful place ,love the weather .amazing things about there are different kinds of transportations.the buildings and structures are so cool .lots of art works around, showcase the talents and creativity. Amazing museums ,the plaza looks so stunning .the city has so much to offer and see .
It sure does! Truly amazing place to explore. Thanks for coming along.
I'm glad you enjoy my city Guadalajara and the food. I don't like ugly graffiti or trash on the street, it is a problem compared to other cities, unfortunately a lot of people don't care about it but hopefully it will get better soon.
