@@cumminsscout wrong, on all three vehicles it has a normal gearbox and reduction box that connects the drive shafts with the front wheels and the rear wheels with a lever that could connect only the rear wheels or 4 wheels or 6 wheels which often had a differential blocking lever. A common feature with many off road vehicles...
Folks need to remember, even the 2 1/2 ton only had 91 horsepower. I had a 53 Jeep and it had about 50 horsepower. You had to wind the things up even on level ground.
At that time if they realized that one day italians will kill that legendary american willys jeep . And they put there products in to most unreliable suv list . 🙁 Luckily japanese reverse engineered jeep still performs great . Landcruiser ❤️
@Buffalo_Bill1 Yeah - seriously. These are 77 year old antique trucks and most people don't want to beat them to death on the Rubicon trail..... Besides - they were smarter in the old days and the Dozer went first and made a road....
Just love to see the suspension work on the CCKW 353 .
Tbose WW2 Jeeps were really awesome vehicles.
The guy behind the wheel of the Dodge needs a driving lesson and by now, likely a new clutch.
I think he doesn't hear about "4x4 low"...
@@sebastiantullio3468 There is no low on the Dodge. 4 speeds only
@@cumminsscout Was about to say. With a good driver he wouldn't even need it. Dodges do whatever you tell them to do.
It's an old video back in 2010

They had good enough torque and that is all that really matters.
Part of that reving is the low gearing , first only get you to 6 mph in high range and 2 mph in low range
OH COME ON.

Cool.. my friend had a WW2 Dodge 4x4 like in the video👍🇳🇿
Interesting that the 6x6 rocking axel ate up all the rear clearance. Good vid.
Love the cckw353.
I saw hundreds of them when I grew up, that’s all the French military used to move troops. Always loved the look

Está valetinha eu passo com qualquer fusca vellho
Maybe the first two should learn about low range and how to use it..
Yeah, that second driver took about three years of life off of the clutch.
Or maybe just low gear in high range.
No low on the dodge.
I love my Dodge M37
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Cmon my beetle can do this.
Ow, i forgot beetle was a war car
Really harsh and difficult terrain. Absolute horror.
It's not tough, even a 4×2 can overcome it.

but what about a ford escort from 1941? oh wait
mmmmm, "off-road"
Fun to watch all these European people brag about their AMERICAN made vehicles🇺🇸
Dodge sucked back then too
