Hey Bryan, thanks for this new rocking Video! I enjoy to see the videos from your Brazil trip. What is the tree line distance Gustavo used for the layout? What is the variety of Eucalypt that Gustavo planted? Do you have information on which variety of Eucalyptus works best for each climat zone to establish Syntropic Agroforestry Systems? Last year I started my own first experimental batches of Syntropic systems in tropical Chiapas of southern Mexico with inspiration of your videos but still without Eucalyptus. This year I want to try it with Eucalyptus, Acacia mangium and Inga varieties as the main shade trees. Lets Bring Syntropc Agroforest System to all world ! Greetings and Big thanks for your work Anton
@@byrongrowssomething Gustavo said in one of your other videos really hits home to me. He said something along the lines like, "our purpose is to be just like an Ant, we are from nature and organizing matter is our highest purpose....". I forget the exact words of what he said but it really hits home for me and gives me motivation and purpose in life. I live in the desert Southwest and these principles could completely change the landscape to what it was hundreds of years ago. This land where I live is going to be completely different when I depart. I'm honestly surprised living in S NM in the Rio grande valley was such a big agricultural community that nobody is doing these practices.
Hey Byron! I come from Kentucky in the USA and over the past growing season I have found your channel and read a few books regarding permaculture and food forests. I have much enjoyed watching your videos and have been filled with heaps of inspiration and motivation. It seems that TH-cam is saturated specifically with content pertaining to Syntropic Agro-Forestry in TROPICAL or SUB-TROPICAL growing zones, however I live in a USDA hardiness zone 6B which is Temperate and gets a couple inches of snow in the winter with frosts as cold as -6F. There are a few creators in Europe who have somewhat of a similar climate but are still Mediterranean to which the information is not so replicable. Would you be willing to make a video discussing a model of plants that you would choose, say, if you had to move to an area that was like mine and you wanted to build a Syntropic Agro-Forestry system from scratch? What guilds of plants? I'm sure many people would find this kind of video quite helpful! I plan on making some videos as I go, to track the progress and share! All the best ~
Loved reading this - Excited about your journey! I’ve got a whole ‘temperate/Mediterranean’ section of my systems, so will prioritise making a dedicated video to share those species and slightly different dynamics. Thanks for watching!
@@byrongrows Awesome! I look forward to that video and the wisdom. I appreciate your bid of farewell! I will begin commenting more to stay in touch. 🤙🏻
Great stuff. Byron, if you ever happen to be passing through Taupo give me a shout at Lake Local. We are building a food forest on what was waste ground last year. :)
beautiful video as always bro, thanks for sharing! syntropic food forest is one of the best ecosystem we can build and cocreate, and Brasil is such an abundant land if it is work on the syntropic way.. crazy!! love from Uruguay
Hey! I’ve been watching your channel for a few months now, and my family and I are thinking about moving to Brazil at some point! This video (and your others about Brazil) is awesome! Thank you so much! I was wondering I didn’t see a link to follow Gustavo, does he have a social or website or something?
Amazing! Glad you’re enjoying the content, and hope you put the knowledge into practice in the soil somewhere! His info is in the desceoption - They’re on IG @santafloresta
One question: do you or Gustavo deal with browsing animals. We have very heavy deer pressure here in Zone 9b and I’m wondering if excluding them with fences is pretty much the only solution. Or do you all have some other techniques?
Have you been to a syntropic farm un raid climate ? I love in a desert , although we aré abundant un irrigation water, any ideas on how i can apply syntropic farming here
Hey there, Byron. This video inside another (air footage) video thing distracts me a lot. I know it's an artistic choice but for my part it is really distracting and I miss the details of the small video.
I'm no specialist but I have the impression this technic can save the world
wonderful men and agroforestry system
I love this video so much and thank you. My respect to Gustavo.
Glad you enjoyed it! Gustavo is awesome
Very interesting on mulching Mexican sunflowers, thanks.
Thank you for doing these interviews. I have learned so much! ☺️
Glad you like them!
Love all those systems that you have been showcasing from Brasil, they are doing an amazing job. So much knowledge and humbleness.
15 minutes in, what a great video. Nice editing trick where the drone footage is behind the video
Gustaveira is a young guy with ancient knowledge. 🇧🇷
Sintropic agriculture rocks!!🎉

Incredible, thank you@@byrongrows
Check out Mark Shepherd, he works in northern climates, when I lived in eastern Canada I followed his methods, worked well in the cold climates.
That's some great looking organic matter!
This is brilliant thanks Byron for covering this one crazy density of plants and ideas from Gustavo

So do they just let the trees grow so close together? Or do they wait till they get to a certain maturity and then cut the undesirable one?

I really like your content ...just not keen on the video in the video
Noted ! Glad you’re enjoying
Can't take advice seriously from a human that had the poor decision making skills that led them to put a ring in their nose.
Your loss, pretty silly of you to discount good advice based on that.
